Prime Rib Sandwich. Yes I know it's not a cheesesteak but it is sliced. It was Sunday, I had been a good boy, I wanted a beer so I treated myself. The prime rib was amazing. I literally cut it with a butter knife. It wasn't cut and I wanted to get a picture of the middle and all I had was a butter knife. The horseradish cream sauce was very tasty. Going out of my way to write my first Yelp review. Went there and will never go back again. On her way to the bathroom, my daughter passed the manager on duty who give her a dirty look, made a derogatory, vulgar statement laced with profanity about the way that she looked. My daughter returned to the table sobbing. Manager on duty did not offer any type of compensation. When reported to head manager, he defended the employee and also did not offer any type of compensation for our negative experience. I wish I could give zero stars. Excellent wood-oven pizza that's NOT greasy! I got the grilled veggie pizza and enjoyed all of the veggies on it. It was a nice treat. I also got the hummus platter. I love the pesto-like dressing and the soft pita along with all of the veggies that came with it. The complimentary bread was perfectly warm and melted in my mouth. My only complaint is that I wish the pizza could come in 2 sizes - it was a bit small to share with 4 people but more than enough for 2 people. We ordered a kale and farro salad entree portion and the waiter got us a side cobb salad (the waiter apologized). I wish there were large salads (Olive Garden size) that we could all share. Food awesome, service...seriously the best, and space was fantastic. I felt like we were at a resort on an island! We sat at the bar in the open air space, overlooking the golf course. The place was busy with an event and customers like us; however, the high level of service never skipped a beat. I had the Reuben sandwich with fries and my husband had the grilled chicken pesto sandwich. First, the Reuben...I am still dreaming about it, and have seriously considered driving the 1 1/2 hours just to order it again. It was a good size sandwich on what tasted like fresh baked marble rye bread. The slaw was like nothing I have ever tasted, it was creamy, savory, and sweet. The Swiss cheese was melted perfectly, and the corn beef (if corn beef could be lean), was lean, juicy, and delicious! The fries were more like potato stick/wedges. Perfectly seasoned , crispy on the outside, and light and puffy inside. Yummy all around! The chicken pesto sandwich was also superb! The bread was lightly toasted (couldn't make it out, but some form of a thick cut white bread), the chicken was perfectly seasoned and grilled, the roasted red peppers and onions were sweet and savory, the mozzarella was perfectly gray and melted, and that pesto was perfect! I have been here a few times now, and feel that I can finally form an opinion. The common theme here seems to be to stick with drinks and apps here, because that is what they excel at. The entrees are not that great. They also used to have a great breakfast buffet but I haven't been in years. On our most recent visit, I went with my husband and we sat on the heated patio. It is a nice set up and they had plenty of outdoor seating. We started with drinks, my husband had the cranapple mule and I had the red sangria. Both were great. For appetizers, we ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls. We've gotten these in the past and they were as good as ever. The meat is good quality too. For dinner, my husband had the crab cake sandwich and I had the fried chicken sandwich. My husband was satisfied with his crab cake sandwich, wasn't the best he ever had or anything but it was solid. My fried chicken sandwich was horrible and I honestly should have sent it back. The chicken was disgustingly dry and practically inedible. Honestly makes me wonder if was microwaved. I literally could have made better at home and trust me, I'm no chef. Service was fine. I'll start off this review by saying I would definitely come back and try this place again. The restaurant and bar area outside are inviting. I imagine it's much nicer to visit for happy hour when it's warm out. I came in for dinner around 8 pm on a cold night. Sat in the outdoor bar (enclosed in cold weather with heat lamps). The bar staff was friendly however definitely more concerned with text messages than greeting me when I sat down. I ordered the filet and asked if I could have the butter instead of the Demi glaze it came with and it was not a problem. Substituting the asparagus it came with for just plain old broccoli - $1.50 up charge? Didn't love that. Broccoli is a cheaper vegetable. And if I'm paying $35 for a steak then shouldn't I be able to pick my side? The steak was not great. The middle of the steak was cooked to my liking (medium rare) but as I ate it, it was dry and far more cooked everywhere else. Not tender and no flavor. So while I was back in PA this past week to see relatives, I decided to take my wife out to Tavolas, hoping for a nice night out. I was suggested this place through family that lives down here in Delco. Overall, I can't find anything negative to say about the food, the Egg-rolls were fantastic. The service was also excellent, the waitress was a very kind woman. Why I have a problem is the management, while I was enjoying my food with my wife, a female manager approached our table and asked how everything was, and as she did she had spit all over my food. I couldn't eat the entree any longer. I know this is oddly specific but I just can't forget about it. The music was also way too loud I could barley hear our waitress. Lastly, I saw what I presume as Higher ups being very aggressive towards each other and other employees. Wasn't a calm environment that's for sure. read more

I agree with the majority of 3 star reviews because : - it is way overpriced for the local area and it's not a resort. - Service the 5x we've been here in summers 2015 and 2016 has been spotty. I.E Why do we have to ask for our table to be wiped down each time? Get the person who is clearing the dishes from the previous customer to carry a rag and wipe the table down as part of the process. And as was the case last evening why do we get our drinks deposited onto our tables next to the closed menus and then watch as a waitress scurries away, returning 10 minutes later to take our order? Menus closed means we'd like to order. Or at least ask if we are ready. I just don't get that but that's the norm here. They are the negatives. The positives are the food is good. The view is fabulous. We ate: Prosciutto and Arugula salad---Devine! Cheesesteak eggrolls- Really great! Cheeseburger sliders- Good. Could be great if the rolls were less dense. You want to taste the meat. 5 stars for a view you cannot beat in Delaware County After the ordering snafu our waitress was kind, pleasant and attentive. I like this place, the atmosphere is nice and the outdoor bar is a nice place to sit out. The food is above average but the service is just average. Nice people but you do wait for service here, this has been my experience. Start out with the warm bread with oil dip really delicious, and they have plenty of cocktails to choose from. For dinner on this visit we had the steak, which was cooked perfectly, and it came with salad wedge and quarter roasted potatoes. Also, again had the mahi tacos, always a good choice. It's a little pricey for some of the food, depends what you order tho. Parking is large lot and free. read more

Visited Tavola on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I was super excited to check out their newly renovated patio and the new spring menu. We arrived right at 11 am and were a couple of the first people there. The patio was so beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a better day. I loved the color schemes they chose for the patio. They picked a teal blue and bright orange color scheme. It was the first thing that stood out to me when we arrived. I also noticed that there was a ton of seating. They can fit a decent amount of people on the patio without it feeling overcrowded. There were three of us for lunch and we wanted to sample something from each area of the menu. Drinks: Tavola Garden Bloody Mary Blend--featuring Absolut Peppar and Cilantro Vodkas combined with a unique homemade blend of spices and fresh ingredients from Tavola's on-site vegetable and herb gardens, garnished with a celery stalk, stuffed olive, lemon and lime wedge ($10.50) Cucumber Lemonade--Absolut Citron Vodka, cucumber purée, and cucumber-lemonade ($9.50) Blueberry Mojito--Cruzan Rum, blueberry purée, mint, lime, and club soda ($9.50). -All drinks were extremely refreshing. We were all happy with our drink choices. Salads: Chopped BLT Salad--sliced fried tomatoes, stuffed radicchio leaves with Danish blue cheese crumble, chiffonade iceberg, bacon lardons, and spicy pickled red onion ($9.00). We were all very surprised by this salad. We weren't necessarily interested in getting a salad before our entrees, but we all agreed we were happy we did. This salad had so much flavor to it. The bruschetta was loaded and had such a delicious flavor. I could have eaten an entire plate to myself! Brick Oven Pizza: Mediterranean-- artichokes, kalamata olives, fresh tomato, feta, garlic, oregano, and extra virgin olive oil ($15.00). This was probably my least favorite dish that we ordered during lunch. We thought we would try something different instead of getting your typical pizza, but we all agreed we could have gone without this. Between the Bread: Chicken & Waffles--house brine flash fried chicken between Belgian waffles, and peach jalapeño maple chutney ($15.00). We loved the chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffle were cooked perfectly! The only thing we wish we had more of was syrup. The waffles came out a little dry. Mahi-Mahi Tacos--blackened, Japanese mayo, daikon mango slaw, and avocado ($15.00). LOVED the tacos! They were excellent! I wish I could have eaten more. This was easily our favorite entree. The tacos had so much flavor. I loved the sauce on top. I really enjoyed the food and our time here at Tavola. The food was very good and we had excellent service. Our waitress was very attentive to us during our visit and was able to give a lot of great recommendations. The food was a bit pricey but that was expected since it was at a country club. The omelette guy disappeared after I ordered my omelette and went for some lox. He had it ready and covered when I looked a few minutes later. The waiter dis not visit frequently to get another drink etc. And the dining room in the bar area where we sat was filled with dirty tables uncleared. I would have enjoyed the experience more of the dining room looked neat instead of cluttered w dirty dishes w half eaten food. I really want to love it here, so much potential and gorgeous setting and ambiance. Saturday night 10/28 bar scene was a mess. Three bartenders and horrible service. The bar was not busy so it wasn't that. One blonde woman was cleaning and working impressively hard while the other two were taking care of customers. None were smiling or friendly. The other blonde woman bartender did a lot of staring into space. There was a male bartender too who was just ok. Multiple people including myself had to ask for their drinks to be refilled. It was a hot mess but also entertaining between the bartenders fighting, drunk VIPs (possibly manager off shift) !?!? One disturbing thing was I watched the bartender refill a used glass with the ice scoop and touch the ice scoop to the rim and inside of the glass and then of course put the ice scoop back into the ice bin. The week prior I went for dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night. Our server was very attentive. We had nachos (blah) and pizza. The pizza dough is not typical pizza dough, kind of buttery and not in a good way. This place can do so much better! read more

It was my first time visiting with a friend because we like drinks and apps. I chose dinner because I was hungry so I ordered the Angus burger and fries with am IPA. Thur burger was decent and the fries were ok, like they had been sitting awhile or over fried. My friend ordered the nachos and they were seriously unpalatable. Dad and I decided to go here to celebrate my birthday. I've been here a handful of times, and the atmosphere is beautiful and the food is good, though over priced. Our service tonight was a different story unfortunately. Before ordering, I asked if the crab cake had peppers in it, to which the waitress responded that it did not. Our food arrives, and there are peppers in the crab cake. I'm not one to complain or to send something back over something so minor (I waitress as well and get it), so I just stuck with my meal and ate half. Waitress clears our plates. Dad plans on getting a second drink, while I plan on ordering dessert when she comes back to ask if we would like dessert or anything else. 40 minutes go by! Now mind you, I understand that with the covid restrictions that service is not what it used to be and the job is more difficult. But our waitress walked by our table at least 10 times, and didn't even ask us if we needed anything else. So after this lengthy wait, I finally just asked for the check. I had to meet some friends from Deleware for dinner so we decided to meet halfway at Tavola. I came in and fell in love with ambiance. I was seated outside on the giant patio. We were right under some large, orange umbrellas. It was a great place to spend the evening especially with the great view of the golf course. I started off with a strawberry vodka drink. It was pretty brutal. It was covered in basil filling my mouth with basil on every sip. I returned it to the kitchen and it came back without basil. However, it still wasn't very good. It just tasted like seltzer water as you could not taste the strawberry. I was also disappointed that I was not given any bread with my order. However, other tables had bread baskets. I suppose you might have to ask, which seems a bit odd. For my entree, I got the grilled chicken tacos. It was really small with only two tacos that weren't even large. It would be large enough if you got an appetizer. While the chicken was fresh and tasty and went perfectly with the black beans, avocado, corn and salsa. Unfortunately, someone in my party was a bit disappointed with his buffalo chicken caesar pizza. Someone in my party got pasta and the portion was HUGE! She had enough to take some home. I guess the portion depends on what you order. Altogether, the food here is above average, but you really should come for the ambiance. read more

The size of the crab cake was like 2 tbs, more like a crab balls with no good seasoning. Friday night they also had some live music which was a nice touch. Staff were very friendly as was our waiter. Relatively big menu but then you realize that almost 50% of it is drinks. Cocktails were good - strong but tasty. I had the hot tropic which was just the right amount of spicy but had a good amount of mango too. Food though was a different story. Prices are quite high, even for those coming from Philly. I suppose that is expected for a country club? But then the quality of food should be quite good too. Had the fried ravioli which was quite dry in the middle and very uninspired in terms of filling. They ran out of chicken for the quesadilla and only told us as it was coming out which was unfortunately...the quesadilla honestly was quite boring in the end. Also had the bruschetta which, you guessed it, was very standard and not interesting. I split the Tavola pizza and a turkey wrap with my friend. Turkey wrap was a good helping, and the fries were the standout of the meal. Nice and crispy and fried well, although they weren't that hot when they came out. Turkey wrap was again very boring. A huge helping of turkey but very dry on the inside and not very flavorful other than the bacon inside. The pizza was pretty bad actually, soggy on the bottom, way heavy on the cheese, and the sausage and peppers looked very processed and not fresh. Might be fine somewhere else but i've you're in a country club and paying these prices, I think better is expected. Horrible service and mediocre food in upscale surroundings. Seven friends got together on Sunday evening. The restaurant wasn't busy but not empty. We waited 45 minutes for our meals (salads). Every half hour we had to send someone to search for the server. Beverages not refilled, plates not cleared from the table, server never bothered to ask if we'd like dessert or coffee after dinner. Shrimp was fine. Dinner: California grilled chicken BLT was pretty bad. There were 2 separate pieces of chicken breasts on the bun, a lot of lettuce and a ton of guac. So much that the guac was messy. Falling out of the sandwich and getting all over your face with one bite. The sandwich fell apart. My friend got a simple pasta with marinara sauce that was dry. He didn't take more than a few bites out of it. My other friend had a burger and said it was just ok. We ordered apps and dinner at the same time because we knew it would take awhile. It did end up being a longer wait so I'm happy we did. There weren't many people there for a Saturday night at 9pm. People go to the shore on the weekends here but I thought there would be more attendance. Unfortunately, the food and service has been lacking here for some time. I hope they turn it around because we want to eat here and people in Delaware County know of Tavola's as a good restaurant with nice outdoor seating . I really enjoyed coming here especially during Covid with the outdoor seating that sits over the golf course. They also took extensive measures to protect patrons and ensure safe and clean practices. There were bags to place masks in, the utensils were in bags indicating they were recently cleaned, and tables were nicely spaced a part. I really like the ravioli. As much as I want it to be better, I have to give Tavola a solid three stars. You can't beat the atmosphere, especially when the fire pit is open, but the food just doesn't match the prices. I do love that their patio is open all year long, and almost always sit out there. I've eaten a ton of things on this menu, and just haven't been wowed by anything. Your best bet here is to sit out back and stick to beer and apps. Last night we came to watch the Villanova game and enjoyed everything. Our group shared nachos (devoured before I could take a picture), margarita pizza, cheeseburger pizza and rosemary garlic wings. Everything was delicious; their bar food is definitely the way to go here. This being said, this is definitely the place to go in Delco when you want to go somewhere nicer than a dive. 9/20 we arrived at 5:55pm. Table for 2 Seated quickly hostesses very pleasant. Sat at a table in the middle of the room that was very wobbly. We moved to another table; it was wobbly too. We waited for at least 5 minutes and no one greeted us so we called the manager over. The manager named Sophie was working and she helped us by getting someone to bring us water. She fixed the wobbly table and she put in our drink orders. Our server came right over. His name was Ryan and he was a good server. He was suggested the chicken pesto sandwich and it was DELICIOUS! My friend had a salmon Caesar salad - the salmon portion was huge and well seasoned. We had triple chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was very good. Interesting and eclectic crowd. Parking is an issue due to the restaurant, golf course and hotel sharing the same lot, so be prepared. Big fan of the outdoor deck and live music. I can imagine on hot days and weekends, it gets crowded. I'm not familiar with this area as I met a friend there, so I can't compare it to other places around. Drinks are reasonably priced for the type of place this is, food is a bit pricey. While our server was somewhat attentive, it took over an hour for 1 appetizer and 2 salads to come out. It seemed rather ridiculous considering it wasn't that crowded. We started with the shrimp lejeon appetizer. Yes it tasted great and I truly enjoyed the horseradish sauce, but it was $13 for 4 shrimp. Seemed a bit pricey for such a small dish. I ordered the prosciutto salad as my main course. I would have loved to add another proten, but it was anywhere from $7 - $15 to do so depending on what you wanted, and the salad itself was already $9. I have an issue with spending above $15 on a salad. While the salad was very good, it needed some more substance. The arugula, strawberries, cheese and prosciutto just didn't do it for me. The 3 stars is because while the outdoor deck is appealing and the food all tasted fine, it wasn't anything spectacular. I've had better meals for around the same price closer to home. First, we had called ahead to see if a reservation could be made and they told us there were plenty of tables, and if some of our party got there early, we could let them know exactly what our party would be, and they would hold it. I thought they were good. Better than average, but not great. Wonderful texture, not much filler. Other entrees included the Prime Rib sandwich, Prime rib sliders, Salmon and a salad. The salmon was said to be excellent. The Prime Rib was not what was expected. Both diners thought there would be a piece of prime rib on their sandwiches, instead of being chopped up like a cheesesteak. Great day to be here. Sitting outside on this beautiful sunday....unusual for this time of year. Bar is packed, all tables taken. I was very impressed by service on this day. The staff was truly surprised as well by the people. Due to the weather seems all flocked here, either to golf or to be able to dine enjoying the fresh air. We ordered some drinks, Bartenders here are friendly and helpful. We headed outside, watched the golfers and chat. We were greeted by the manager by our 2nd round of drinks. She was pleasantly going around making sure all were happy. Stopped by again asking if we would like to eat? and offered to find us a table....she did. Tom our waiter was great as well, very much on top of his game. The menu has much to choose from. They also have weekly nightly specials of food and drink. TV's and music can be a very relaxing way to cap off a busy day of work. read more

They have done some big time changes. You can sit outside and they can control how the sun comes in! No need for umbrellas but they have an area with that also Live music was really good We sat inside because my 90 year old father dosen't like the heat. But the live music was also coming into the dining room! The food was all goid and if I was with friends would definetly sit on the patio with a view of a golf course! Just really cool. My husband and I are looking for a new date night spot in Springfield so we can stop driving all the way to KOP. A co worker suggested Tavolas even though it's winter (I guess it's better in the summer when you can sit outside). We had a reservation but didn't need it, it was busy but not ridiculous. We chose to sit outside ( it's enclosed right now) and it was warm and the bar was busy. They had live music which was nice but a little hard to talk over the sound of it at 7 pm. We went with the Caesar salad and calamari for the appetizer. Caesar was delicious and huge, calamari was eh. I thought it was a tad rubbery and the breading was not crunchy. It was just very soft and a little mushy. We also got the buffalo chicken pizza and the short rib tacos. My husband liked the tacos and his only critique is they were a bit dry. Needed a sauce or something. The buff chick pizza was good, although much more of a flatbread than a pizza. Overall I think this is a good restaurant and would definitely be back, especially when it's warm out! read more
