Awful food. We got fried vegetable rolls, curry chicken, and pad thai with tofu. Vegetable rolls: fried in disgustingly dirty oil. Had a flavor that made them inedible. Crispy on outside, but mushy paste inside. Curry Chicken: the dish was grey in color, and the chicken was unidentifiable pieces of limp meat. The curry sauce had a slimy texture. It was so gross we did not eat it. Pad Thai: only edible thing from the order, but was still terrible. The tofu was extremely dry, spongy and old. The noodles were not cooked correctly and were hard and mealy, The dish was sour. Will never go back. read more

This was my first time trying this restaurant & I'm happy I did! I picked up our lunch order & it was ready on time & accurate. The counter service was fast & friendly. They do deliver with a minimum order of $15 & within a three mile radius. Note : they're closed on Mondays. We ordered from the Lunch Special Menu (11am-3pm, not valid on Sundays & Holidays). The portions were big... we had leftovers! Three of us shared two entrees which included Egg Fried Rice & Crab Cheese Wontons. Plus we ordered a side of Lo Mein Noodles. The Sesame Chicken was wonderful, very juicy! The chicken was crispy even with the sauce on top & the sauce was delicious. The Beef Teriyaki was good as well. Although, I would have liked a little more of the teriyaki flavor. In both dishes they added a few vegetables- broccoli with the chicken & baby corn & carrots with the beef. The Lo Mein & rice were tasty too. My favorite part of lunch were the wontons. Adding the crab really made them yummy. This is a great place to go & very reasonably priced! read more

The restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening which was odd, but we received attentive and friendly service. The interior of the restaurant had ample natural night, was clean and quiet. The fried rice and drunken noodles left much to be desired, rather bland. But besides that all of our food was wonderful. We ordered the Dinner Special for 4 which included 4 soups, 4 egg rolls and 4 full size entrees for $60. There was more than enough food for 4 people; what a steal. Fantastic lunch specials, even on Saturdays! Tawan Asian Cafe recently remodeled the space and opened this restaurant on 44th. It is a great addition to the neighborhood. This is a nicely appointed restaurant with plenty of parking and plenty of indoor seating. I love that they have lunch specials on Saturdays. The Beef with Garlic Sauce was wonderful. The crab wontons were nice and crispy. And, there was plenty of egg fried rice to sop up all the garlic sauce. Their party trays look pretty stellar and are well priced. May be letting them do the cooking for the next party at the house! read more

Used my brand new cc to treat my significant other to a delivery of Asian food. Ordered pad Thai and sweet and sour chicken. Food was mediocre at best. Day later my credit card was compromised for $500. Charges were for online gaming, movie rentals and Home Depot purchases. Beware! I try and support local businesses but when this happens I question! My bank alerted me and are aiming their investigation into this establishment. Shame Tawan shame. read more

I'm still so surprised that this place is not more popular. Every time I need an Asian fix I end up choosing Taiwan. We always greeted with a smile and end up leaving with a smile and so satisfied that it's not too greasy and no msg perfectly seasoned. What a delightful newer spot in the area! We went in and were the only ones in the whole place which was a bit concerning at first. But once we saw how many carry out orders they had it made sense. We only interacted with one employee but she was beyond sweet; interacting with our 1 year old and always making sure we had what we needed. She even brought out extra egg drop soup when she realized our LO loved it. I tried the garlic beef since I saw a few others reviewing it and my husband got one of their curries. We came to Tawan tonight just to see the new restaurant as it formerly was Man Wah restaurant. The food was great! Super tasty, fresh and high quality. The wontons and egg rolls were piping hot and with the right amount of crunch to them. The broccoli and Beef was delicious and fresh. The sesame tofu came out like fluffy cubic, crunchy pillows that had a delicious sesame sauce. Service was nice with a very sweet and timely. Ambiance was fantastic as well! I regret to write about this because our seats were epic! There's a large fish tank with large South American Severum and an Arowana. Such beautiful and healthy looking fish. Tawan replaced Man Wah several months ago. The interior has been renovated. The staff is super nice and professional. Crab cheese wontons were good enough. The orange chicken was a little bland and not crispy. I placed my order 30mins before close and they were eager to take my order. read more

Great food at a fair price in a very clean restaurant. Staff is very friendly, attentive and hardworking. The lunch specials are a great deal. I typically get the Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef or Sesame Chicken. All are consistently very good. Definitely an improvement from the previous restaurant and owners. Highly recommend. read more

Tawan is an update/makeover of the former Man Wah. The menu is expanded, ingredients are fresh, well-seasoned and portions are substantial. The service is attentive but not intrusive, and the tables are kept clean and stocked with condiments. Significant improvements in the overall ambiance and attractiveness of the cafe. Prices are average compared to other casual dining restaurants in the metro area. read more
