Pete's Dueling Piano Bar was an unexpected (and entertaining) stop for us. We actually ran into…read moreHans Kim and ended up walking over with him -- we genuinely had no idea where we were going and had never even heard of this place before. The scene was very different from our usual spots and definitely felt like a throwback to our younger days: lots of young people, lots of alcohol, and high energy. It wasn't the cleanest -- there were empty cups and napkins scattered around -- which felt more like a lack of courtesy from some patrons than the staff, but it's worth noting. That said, the bartenders were friendly, service was quick, and there was plenty of seating. We were able to grab drinks easily and settle in to enjoy the show. The dueling piano performers were a blast and play songs based on requests -- the bigger the tip, the better your chances, which adds to the fun. There were multiple birthday and engagement celebrations happening on stage, and the crowd energy was contagious. All in all, we had a great time and would absolutely return -- especially if you're looking for something lively, interactive, and a little out of your normal routine

If you've been there and you have a nose unaffected by a smoking habit, I'm sure you'll agree. Fat Black man in the photos is the Manager of Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. His actions represent the views opinions and values of Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. And Pete's Dueling Piano Bar supports his actions while on the clock. April 4th 2026 between 7:15pm and 7:45pm: This manager, -in retaliation for an earlier failed intimidation attempt- playfully warned his subordinate with the reddish hair in the pictures that I was approaching, and then pushed his 'friend' into my path as I was walking pass the establishment. He openly admitted to everyone around including his work crew that he deliberately shoved another human being into me, and his excuse was that the girl is his friend. I told him that I'm NOT his friend, and not to play with me like that. He said he'll do whatever he wants to do to pedestrians, because he's the manager of the establishment. He then got physical and tried to push me, and when he realized he lacked the proper strength, he threatened to call the police on me. This all happened on the sidewalk from the entrance as I was walking by. I've been a patron of the esatblishmnet in the past, and I've never caused any trouble, or received any. So I was very much taken aback by the sudden aggression, and disrespect. All of his staff; the girl with the red highlights in the pictures, and the man with the long dark hair holding the selfie phone next to Fat Black, they all thought this was so funny. They all supported him and his actions, and actively assisted in his harassment, on the clock, on the job, as representatives of Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. Maybe Pete's Dueling Piano Bar is only hospitable and friendly when you're paying them to be. Fat Black, The Manager of Pete's Dueling Piano Bar started a fight with a pedestrian, restarted it after it ended unfavorably for him, escalated it further, attempted to get physical with with a octagon beast, who's training is light years out of his league, and then threatened to call the police. I've made several attempts to contact the owner, to no avail. It's almost as if the owners of Pete's Dueling Piano Bar doesn't want to know what their staff is up to. I'll never spend another dime in this establishment, and I suggest that you stay away from this place as well. They're only nice when they want something from you, after that, they turn into violent abusive hooligans. And the owner seems to want it that way, or at the very least is willfully ignorant.

There isn't much like late night drinks with family and friends. However why stop at just suds and…read morebuds? Add in some live music and watch the night liven up like a kid on Christmas! I had the opportunity to hit Rocking J Piano Bar and what a night it was! Rocking J is easy to find off the 183 and parking is plentiful, unlike the horrendous parking adventure downtown. The joint is located in a corner unit off Whitestone Blvd and extremely inviting. Music starts a little later at night and if you want a table you need to reserve one. I arrived at 7pm for the 8pm show and there were a few patrons upon arrival. The joint is clean without that beer-stained floor smell and the bartenders are cool and fast slinging suds. Prices aren't bad and all the people that I met were extremely cool, many different ethnicities were hanging out, while the age group was 30+ so it's not the college crowd. The attire ranged from men in tshirts, flip flops, I saw some "typical cowboy hats" and women in shorts and dresses, up to business casual. It's basically a "come as you are" mentality in a very relaxed atmosphere. Please note while they don't serve food, they do allow outside grub, just bring some for everyone, Also the bathrooms are decent not spectacular however you won't need to run down the street. The non-reserved tables are limited and as the show time creeps closer, they start to fill up but there was standing room. The crowd that was there was a pretty lively crew and seemed like pretty decent people. In the corner is a piano and on my night a drum kit. I can't remember the pianist / singer's name but he was really good while the drummer acted as backup, basically enhancing the songs with a steady beat. The guy could flat out sing and I swear I couldn't stump him with my diverse requests. Among the songs were The Cure - Love Song, Alice in Chains - The Rooster, Jimmy Buffet - Margaritaville, Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here. Perhaps the jingle from Sesame Street would have stumped him, but I didn't consider it at the time. Overall, the place feels safe with "good folk" who all just want to have a good time. The staff is friendly and fast and the prices fair. I will definitely be back and hope to see you there!

It was not because the piano bar was performing sub-optimally but because they were not there at all. Apparently, the lead band member was sick and therefore, the band did not perform this evening. While it was disappointing, when life gives you lemon make lemonade. The hubs and I decided to stay and catch up on each other's week. It was great to have that dedicated time and in a quiet environment. The mixologist was great and Texas friendly. Also, The piano bar was smaller and more intimate than other piano bars, which added to its charm. Look forward to returning when the band is playing...
