My experience: I've had issue after issue with my newly built home in Georgtown, despite having gone with a supposedly "high-end" builder. After reading about thermal imaging, one morning after a big downpour I was looking for someone to come and see if we had any moisture/ insulation issues I couldn't see with the naked eye. I called Joe at 8:30 am out of the blue and it just so happened he'd had an inspection reschedule and had freed up that AM. He was at my house within an hour. Within 10 minutes of arriving at my home, Joe found not one, but TWO gas leaks in my attic which smelt of propane and explained my previous months ~$500 propane bill, as well as missing insulation in the attic. Then he discovered missing insulation in an exterior wall along with many other unproperly insulated areas. He was a pleasure to work with and very efficient. I've worked with multiple inspectors by this point and can confidently say Joe is by far the best I've seen. Thank you Joe!

They detailed everything on their report in a way that was easy for me to present to the builder and for the builder to follow up and make necessary repairs. I would especially like to note how important it was for me to add the sewer line inspection. The added cost was SO insignificant compared to the $14k repair that was needed based on the inspection findings. Thankfully Home run found it and gave me all of the info I needed to submit it to the builder for warranty repair. It helped me save out of pocket expenses down the road AND the frustration of plumbing issues that could have been caused. This was in addition to the rest of their findings that the builder responded to and repaired promptly. He said he would show up at 1:00, he was there at 1:02 (this is rare- so many inspectors are constantly LATE.) You can book him online, I was able to get him to come to my property the next day, which was great because he was booked solid for a week, and we needed an inspection immediately. That I could see when he was available and schedule him while I was at work, without a dozen back and fourth calls, was a complete win. His inspection was very thorough, and when I asked him questions, he was incredibly knowledgeable about everything. Between being in the industry for 10 years, and being a fourth generation contractor, I know when people really know their stuff or can just talk the talk, and Ken really knows his stuff. As a side note, and something I very much enjoyed, Ken was great at explaining things at my level. I'm ass-ignorant about electrical (it's the only system in a house I can't completely tear down and rebuild by myself), and he was able to answer my questions so I knew exactly what was wrong. On the things where I know a lot, he adjusted the level of his explanation. He also assumed I was competent and didn't do any of the "you're just a little lady" crap that you can get from men in the trades, especially of a certain generation, when you're female. I know most of them don't even realize they're being patronizing and perhaps decades of exposure has made me oversensitive, but I didn't get a whiff of that from Ken. He said he would have the report up on his website within 24 hours, it was (even though it was Saturday- I didn't have to wait all weekend, although 24 business hours would have been reasonable). Yes, you can get a cheaper inspection elsewhere, but I don't think you can get one this good at this price elsewhere, and I don't think you can get the kind of service that Ken gave for this price elsewhere. I will be using him again.

He was knowledgeable on each subject as well as on the surrounding area of the home, and was exceptionally friendly. Their pricing is very competitive and affordable for the good service we received. EDIT: I have to reduce the rating as the buyer's inspector did a much more thorough inspection and found many items that weren't originally disclosed by The Home Inspectors. Addressing these issues will now cost us more money during our negotiations with the buyer than if we had spent more upfront to go with a more thorough inspection company.
