I am giving Taylormark one star for two reasons. First, they have terrible customer service. Second, they tried to charge me $750 for something that I could do for $30. My logicboard failed, but before I sent it off for repair I wanted to see if my Hard drive was screwed up too. Dropped it off and they said they would have an answer in about a week. After ten days I called them and they said they were just completing the scans and would call me back. They never did call me back. Twelve days after dropping it off I noticed an email from them that seemed to say that the hard drive was fine, but they recommended they could recover the data for $750. ...I'm not sure why they would charge so much when I could go to Best Buy and by a hard drive case for $30 and put the hard drive in that. I was confused so the next day I called and left a message asking if I could talk about the email. Again, they never returned my call. So the day after that I dropped by to pick it up. The gentleman working there was surprised to see me and asked if I had called ahead because my laptop was still disassembled. I explained that I had called yesterday but had yet to hear a reply. He then finished up with the customer he was currently working with and then promptly assembled my laptop and gave it back to me. They are nice in person and perhaps do good work, but in my particular instance they did not call when they said they would, did not return my phone calls, and was wanting to charge me a ridiculous amount for a very simple, easy task. read more

My personal email was all messed up that was hosted at Yahoo. Mark went online and used my various passwords to enter the site. He fixed it all perfectly without issues. This was a huge problem quickly solved by my new personal IT department. Next, he also rebooted 2 iPads that were giving me hell. That had to have saved me $1,000+ since they both operate in perfect order now. read more

The Taylormark staff was knowledgeable, helpful and very patient with me. They were able to recover the data from my iphone and helped me setup a backup system to make sure I didn't run into this type of issue again. Thanks to Mark and the staff of Taylormark for saving the day! read more

A truly horrendous experience! One of the worst customer experiences I have ever seen. Paid $150 for them to diagnose the issue with my iPhone, with the understanding that they'd charge me $750 to retrieve the data. They "diagnosed" the issue with my phone, reported to me in very vague terms what the issue was (they did not provide any sort of written or diagnostic report), and told me that they could not honor the $750 flat fee and that it'd cost anywhere from $4,000 - $8,000 to retrieve the data from my iPhone. I'm unclear on whether this was a serious quote or whether they simply did not want my business. What is clear is that they will only honor their flat fee if they are able to make HUGE margins on the job. They emphasized that they were the only company in Dallas who could do this sort of work, as justification of the prices they charge. Not that the work was intensive, not that the parts were expensive... simply because they were the only guys in town who can do this. Really... $8,000 to retrieve data from an iPhone? A new iPhone costs less than $1,000. You can't tell me the parts will cost $8,000. At one point, I called to ask about the status of the data recovery of my phone. The owner responded to my question saying that he hadn't had time to do any work because he was dealing with major legal issues. He then proceeded to accuse me of questioning his ability to do his job, simply because I wanted to know how things were going with my phone. I'm unclear on why he was so defensive, but typically when people are that defensive, they do so because they are hiding something. Throughout the entire experience, they constantly reminded me how much I was an inconvenience to them, simply by being a customer. I was reminded multiple times that it was my fault that I had lost my data. If you need data recovery services, I'd recommend you stay FAR away from these people. There are a ton of other online/send-in-your-phone services who will do the job for much more reasonable $$ and not treat you the way these guys treated me. read more

Superb service. If you are stupid enough not to back up all of your data (like me!) Your hard drive dies, then you need a data retrieval business. They rescued my data quickly and got my Imac working better than new. None of this is cheap. But, then, what is your data worth? They were efficient, pleasant, cheerful and well worth the money. Excellent experience! I now have two exterior hard drives backing up my machine. I give them my highest recommendation. read more

WARNING RIP OFF I waited and waited for Taylormark to respond to my calls, texts, and emails because I thought they had to be worth it. I had several, easy questions about having a PC and Mac products. Mark finally came over and was extremely nice and knowledgeable. I had a list of my questions and some of those questions lead to other things that Mark suggested. He was at my home over 2 hours. When he left, NONE of my issues had been resolved, but he had made a list and was going to get back to me. I was very excited. The minute he walked out my door, Taylormark hit my credit card for $423.23. That was February 17th. Today is March 28th. MARK HAS NEVER CALLED BACK. I am done chasing these people. They think they are wonderful and they are not. LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE! It only cost me $423.23. read more

My fiancée has needed Taylormark's services twice within the past year for her PC. Both times the jobs were extremely time-sensitive and both times Taylormark was extremely accommodating, professional, and performed outstanding work. For the first job, we originally went to Best Buy and were told by Geek Squad that they could let us know what the problem was by the following afternoon. However, I stopped by the next day and they had not even looked at her computer yet. So we decided to take the laptop to Taylormark that same day. Not only did Mark diagnose the problem quickly, he had it fixed and back to us that same day! For the second job, we went to Taylormark first and were told that we would have a status update by 6pm (when they close). When I spoke to Mark a little before 6pm, he said he was swamped that day but told me he was staying late to work on the orders he had from that day. Needless to say, I was able to pick up the computer that same day. I would sum up my experiences with Taylormark like this: If you want to be treated like a number go to Best Buy; if you want to be treated like a person go to Taylormark. I would highly recommend Taylormark to anyone needing work on their computer. read more

Very pleased with this repair place. Wasn't sure what to expect when I first walked in since the interior of the store was not designed like a typical phone or electronics repair store, yet the store and the employees were kind, welcoming, and helpful right off the bat. I had some water damage on my iPhone 5s and was really worried about how expensive it was going to be to repair or if it was even repairable at all, and when I went to TAYLORMARK I was in and out with a working phone in less than 20 minutes! I would recommend any SMU students having electronic issues to check this place out. It was quick, affordable, and very convenient because of its close vicinity to campus. Will definitely check here first if problems arise in the future. read more

I had a super bad experience in customer service and work done. It's true they charge way too high for what they do. But most important to mention, they don't deliver what they say, I accidentally deleted the trash can and asked him if he could recover my lost files and he said yes, I specifically asked him before hand if he could recover them as the original files from Photoshop and he said yes. Not! I did not get them back as he said, he could recover files from 3 years ago but not the current ones I accidentally deleted?? and for that he charged me $1,000!!!!! (only 3 files worked out of 35 files) I never understood that part, then he said I needed a hard drive which it costs $250 plus taxes. I said no but he ended up installing it. He sent me home with my laptop (after one week without it) to FINISH IT MYSELF, a process that he suppose to be doing, and of course I didn't know everything which it costed me another trip to his location at 10pm so he could do it. The excuse why he didn't do it when he had the lap top? He told me he had to take his kids to the movies and that's why he gave me my lap top. Very unprofessional!! I was super mad! I didn't leave that night until I was making sure my lap top was working and because I was there, he opened the laptop and we both noticed that I DID NOT NEED THE NEW HARD DRIVE he said I needed it, and he switched back the one I had and told me he was going to return my money for that, he never did, I sent emails as a reminder, and called him but never returned emails or my calls, so I had to call credit card company to cancel the cost for hard drive only. I don't like doing that but he kept the new hard drive and my money for it so I had to do it. I'm still mad just to think about it. Don't waste your time or money! read more
