Happy Hour here was decent! I was recently in Milwaukee with a co-worker on business. Technically, we were in the suburbs of the city where our client is, but for once, we decided to make our dinner reservation in Milwaukee itself so that we can check out the city scene a bit. So thanks to Yelp, we found Taylor's as we were passing through the downtown area. It's located on a great street with a few other bars but this one seemed to have the most "lively crowd" (for lack of better words - Milwaukee is definitely not like NYC is on a typical Wednesday during the early evening). Anyhow, there were lots of people at the bar and the surrounding tables and they seemed up-beat so perhaps that paints a better picture :) I have a feeling that everyone there was as happy as we were to have $4 wine on happy hour special and - wait for it - free snacks!! Not just bar nuts, either! There was a small buffet table of meats & cheeses, pretzels crackers and olives to enjoy with our wine. I'd certainly say that is a DEAL coming from where I'm from!! It was the perfect place to hang out before dinner and for sure our company loved the cost-savings! The bartenders were cool and though there were not really many single men to mingle with, we would definitely come back to Taylor's when were are back in Milwaukee! read more

I loved this place! I was visiting my friend and after a political event he brought me here. I had the Fellini and he had the Night Train both were strong and fabulous! I loved the fact that they had little eats set out for you to munch on while you enjoyed your drink(s). read more

Always a good experience when I go here. Only draw back to this place is that the bathrooms are in the basement. As you can imagine, depending on what part of your night you make it into Taylors, going down the stairs to go to the bathroom can be an issue. There is also an ATM down there. Overall, I would suggest Taylors to everyone. This is a drink only bar, no food available. read more

This place is cool. We stopped for a cocktail before and sat inside - service was excellent. Later we went back for a nightcap and sat outside. It was a perfect ending to a perfect night. We would go back. Place is nice, service is good. read more

I love Taylors. It is now my favorite bar in the city after the ZenDen started to suck. All the bartender's that I have purchased drinks from have been great. They work their asses off. The decor is nice, music is good as long as you get there after happy hour. Drink prices are normal for the area. The only real negative is that parking sucks right there. read more

If you go here during a slow time or night then you will be alright.. But most likely you need to "fit in" at this place. Not for everyone. The music is extremely loud, hope you don't need your eardrums for anything. read more

As I've said before, I'm not really a club goer. The several times I have been to Taylor's was only because a dear friend dragged me there. If you're going to check it out, know this: The place was pretty clean. Drinks are expensive (think $8 for a vodka lemonade). Music is loud (although the DJ did play good music). There is a mixture of business professionals and douchey club rats. The bathrooms are in the lower level and it's fun to watch drunken sluts fall down the steps. Last time I was there, 2 girls were making out so hardcore and undressing each other to the point that girlie parts were exposed. I know that sort of thing will happen, but it's just not my type of scene. read more

On a good night you'll hear some nice chill music, have a few tasty drinks, chit chat with the bartender, and maybe strike up a conversation with somebody somewhat interesting. You'll go home with a nice ending to a long day. On a bad night it will be packed with the self-proclaimed VIP crowd, you'll have a snobby waitress, the drinks will be weak, and you'll have your table taken away. On a night like this you'll be lucky if you cut your lip on a chipped glass and have to leave after one drink, maintaining at least some of your dignity. I've been to Taylor's a couple of times before and the service has been okay. The last time I visited Taylors was on a Thursday and I don't believe we were treated fairly. When I finally got ahold of a bartender, he never fully concentrated on my order. When my friend tried to tell him we were together, he responded very rudely to the both of us, I told him that she wasn't trying to steal my moment to order, that he was being rude, and I asked for another bartender. To that, he walked away, and within the next minute, called over the bouncer and had him escort my party of three out. We left without wanting to cause any scene. But I felt unfair treatment, and will never be back. read more

Thursday last week was excellent. The best lounge music in Milwaukee, friendly bar staff, and clean attractive clientele. Some nights are the best and are memorable years later, however, some nights it might be empty. read more

This is a great local bar that has an excellent selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks. No food, but you can order takeout from Louise's down the street, and they will deliver. Cool music and a great vibe. read more

Taylor's is a nice stop right before your night gets going. I enjoy the martinis and the bar itself is pretty clean. The inside area is a bit small for my tastes, but it is an open concept and that I do like. People tend to just spill out onto the sidewalk tables - great for people-watching if you're not a creep. The noise level is pretty high for such a small place, but perhaps that has to do with how small it really is. read more

Awesomely inexpensive. Drinks are cheap, even when happy hour isn't going on. They have nightly specials, and a great location with outdoor seating for easy people watching. Late night crowds are COMPLETELY different from day/after work crowds. During the day, it's a chill laid-back place with fast service and a "neighborhood" bar type feel. Late at night (on Fri & Sat) you get a very different, "eclectic" (think almost Victors) mix of patrons that give a whole different impression. Winter martini list is phenomenal, I've had every one, and every one is worth it (even when not on special). By far my favorite place to grab a few and relax/ talk with friends. In town on business and the locals took me to happy hour at Taylor's. Very impressed. Reasonably priced for the area, funky/hip atmosphere with impressive scenic views (people and Cathedral Park), cool snacks, good music. The best part,though, was our fun wait staff. BAD BAD BAD. Was a regular customer and always enjoyed the great atmosphere with friends however my last experience was awful. I was man handled by a chain smoking bouncer who bullied not only myself but several other groups. After speaking to several friends about my experience I learned this same bouncer has beena problem in the past. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more
