Absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I've had on my trip. I ordered the tandoori chicken, tandoori lamb chops, tikka masala, garlic naan and rice. The tandoori items come out sizzling on a hot plate marinated to perfection. They also bring you some complimentary pappadum and salad. There are three sauces on each table (yogurt, a sweet hot sauce, and a tamarind? Sauce. A pitcher of water is also there for your convenience which I love. All the items are very reasonably priced. On my way out I noticed some people bringing in beer so maybe BYOB? I would definitely come back here. Seems like it gets busy so plan accordingly.

No frills Indian-Pakistani restaurant with amazing lamb chops. Used to go here all the time with mates to have some awesome lamb while bringing in a few beers to wash it down with. Made an RSVP (which is def recommended as it gets busy) and was sat right away. Table was a bit cramped, but was expected. Server came around and immediately asked what we wanted. Ended up ordering some channa, dahl, lamb chops, and chicken tikka. The channa was a little salty, the dahl and chicken tikka were good, but the lamb chops - was 100 all the way. Would def come here again for the meats.

Returned to Tayyabs after 10 long years and the only thing that has changed is the ease of getting into this place. We managed to get a last minute 10 pm reservation on a Fri night and food continues to be in line with expectations. The place hasn't gone through any upgrades in terms of seating or decor, and it shows on their chairs and walls at places - but if that doesn't bother you - stick to ordering their classic dishes like the Lamb Chops, or the the Chicken Kadhai and you won't be disappointed. Yes, food is on the oiler side, and yes, its not for the health conscious person, but hey - we all deserve a cheat meal! Service was good and food arrived within 20 mins. Btw, their mango lassi is rich but has a disgusting texture. We were surprised to see people order jugs of it! And this is a BYOB place!

Great food, bustling environment, stern yet lightning fast service. Will definitely be returning. Don't let the below 4 star rating fool you. This place was completely packed on a tuesday night for a reason!

A friend recommended it while I was visiting London and the food did not disappoint. The poppadom with mango chutney was so good! The paneer and the mix grill were so tasty. The flavors were perfect, the meat was tender, and their naan was buttery and fluffy. The service was quick and the place was packed for the weekend. We were seated on the second floor and the place was decorated well, the windows were open allowing in a perfect breeze. Great spot for family and friends!

We received a recommendation from someone local to come here instead of Bricklane. I wish we hadn't listened. We made a reservation so didn't have to wait long for a table. Unfortunately we were sat in an odd corner and promptly forgotten about. A waiter finally came by around 20 minutes after sitting. Our food took around 30 minutes to arrive after ordering, while we saw other tables sit, order, and get food in less than that amount of time. The food itself was nothing special. Our dry meat lamb chops were overcooked and hard to chew. "Dry meat" was an apt description. The sauce on our chicken was delicious but the chicken itself was very dry inside. Garlic naan was on point. Would not come again. This place seems propped up by its past reputation. If you have a large group of 20-something men, this might be your spot. They have plenty of large tables and it is BYO. For anyone else, just avoid.

Dined on 30 December 2023 I went here after seeing another Yelper's mouthwatering lambchops picture. We were not disappointed. The prices are reasonable. We paid approximately £40 total for meals for 2 people, no drinks. Just like most things we've noticed around London city, this restaurant is tucked away in a side street in an unsuspecting location. It is a large space, but seating is tight as they cram a lot of tables into a small space to maximize occupancy. Our table seemed very small and barely fit the dishes we had. For meals, we had lamb chops and  mutton Tikka, which came out on a skillet still sizzling. We had small prawns, which came in a stew-like dish. We expected individually cooked prawns as an appetizer, but it was good nonetheless. We topped it all off with garlic Naan that was not very garlicky and rice with green peas and small yellow pieces that I mistook for cheese (I'm still not sure what the yellow pieces are in the rice). We also had a side salad and papadam (unsure of spelling) with sauces.  The food was good. Each meal was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of spices without being overly spicy.

What can you say about Indian food in London? You would think that it has to be very close to being in India... and it is when you consider Tayyabs. Located in Whitechappel which is a highly Asian population, Tayyabs is one of the best Indian food experiences in London, as rated by many magazines. And really it does not disappoint. The ambiance is very authentic and old world - as if they never updated from their 1972 beginnings. The staff is knowledgeable and the service is quick. Food prices are very affordable. They do charge you for the papads and the water, but for the food being so prices amazing, it's worth it. The flavors and size of dishes make it fully with it. Great value.

Came here on 04 2024. Hello mate and thanks for following me on my UK journey. . Definitely come here for their grilled sizzling meat chops!. . But first make sure you do a reservation it is a zoo in here. Meaning it's crowded quick. As well it expedites the waiting. Some say it doesn't work and for me rvsp worked like a charm. As soon we checked in, we went upstairs seating. It was around 7pm, and it was empty. 720 comes around and boom all seats filled. . There is no alcohol to purchase so everyone brought their own bottle. You may purchase from next door which is a small liquor store. As well there is no tap water, they only charge and serve you bottle stilled water. . Grilled lamb chops - omg so heavenly. Mama was so happy. And 4 pieces for only 10 dollar usd. It was a steal. . Grilled king prawns -a must get if you love seafood or prawns. It was amazing. . Grilled kebab - if you love meat it was yummy. Definitely recommended. It's a mix between beef and lamb I believe. So good with the sauce tray they provide you which enhance the flavors. . Tikka chicken masala - don't recommend it was basic. Not as good as in usa where I try Tikka masala. But it was fun to try the dish where it was invented from in london for chicken Tikka masala. . Sagg paneer - don't recommend, it was missing flavor and was just basic. Best to date is pooja in west sacramento. For sagg paneer. . Garlic Nann - only one piece and charged per piece big enough to share. . Overall service was great. The manager saw me fanning myself due to the smoke and warmth. He opened the window for me and I loved the prince royalty treatment. We had a blast people watching and I see lots of friends coming here for celebration and drinks. Thanks for reading andhope this review is useful. Follow me for more. Have a yelptastic day mate.

Suggested as a must-visit for Indian food while in London, Tayyabs did not disappoint. TLDR: Good Indian food; quick service; polite servers Tayyabs was a good recommendation and we loved everything we ordered. We have the chef's special for the Lamb Chops in karahi masala and the Kebabs. Also all their chutneys are really good. Chops could've been more succulent for my liking but still were decently good.

Food was so good I forgot to take a picture before starting

We found the food here excellent, all dishes we ordered were served promptly and were delicious. Heard the chicken tikka masala was one of the best in London; it did not disappoint. Attentive staff too, overall an outstanding location. Will definitely go again.

I knew there had to be a Korean place nearby, and Kinkao was right around the corner from where I was staying. The inside of the restaurant is much bigger than expected from the outside, with lots of seating areas. I made a reservation for lunch at 1pm but it wasn't really needed; there were only two other people there at the time. I wanted to try the oi kimchi (spicy cucumber salad) but they were out, so I got regular kimchi and bulgogi as an entree. The kimchi was perfect; nice and spicy and crunchy. The bulgogi was more peppery and not as sweet as I'm used to, but I overheard my server telling another customer that they prepare it a little differently than traditional bulgogi. It was still very good and there was an ample portion of beef mixed in with glass noodles and veggies. It was so much food that I wasn't able to finish it all. The prices are very reasonable and my entire bill was about £18 (I also got a Diet Coke and large still water). The service was friendly, but a bit slow, especially considering by the time I left there were only three parties, including myself. After my dishes were cleared I waited about 10 minutes but still had to ask for my bill. It wasn't a huge deal because I wasn't in a rush, but I thought it was odd that the bill wasn't brought out shortly after my dishes were taken away. Either way, this is a good, affordable option if you're looking for Korean food in the area.

Imagine my surprise to stroll into Zaza's, at the heart of Whitechapel (a stone's throw from the Mosque) and get great, friendly service and fantastic food and drink. On the recommendation of a co-worker, I had the kebab roll off the starters menu, with is minced lamb and comes with naan. At £2 and with such a basic sounding description, I wasn't expecting much. But a wonderfully presented entrée that included two kebabs piled on a fresh-baked and perfectly cooked naan, topped with fresh tomato, cucumber and red onion and drizzled with mint sauce really impressed. I tend to find lamb entrees too salty, but this was not. It was simple, good quality meat and well-spiced. Not only was it an ample serving, the ingredients were good - the veggies fresh and crunchy and naan doughy and crispy in all the right places. And for just £2?! Consider me a fan. I also sampled a mango lassi (a yogurt based drink, I would call it a smoothie) that was tasty, of good consistency and not too sweet, but in my opinion should have been served colder (was slightly less than room temperature). I feel like all my friends who've been to London have come back talking about this place, and I'm happy to join their ranks. Dishoom was also one of a handful of dining options recommended by my hotel concierge for a party of 11, including kids. Booking was easy, via SevenRooms, no phone calls or emails necessary. It's a large restaurant, and part of a popular chain--I guess they have things figured out. The space was great, open and casual, exposed ceilings and eclectic decor. Lots of fans, which my three-year-old appreciated. Service was friendly and attentive. I started my lunch with a drink, a refreshing green India Gimlet, gin and Rose's lime with celery bitters and fresh dill. I also tried and liked a sip of the New Permit Room Old-Fashioned, a slightly sweet cocktail with coconut-washed bourbon, Pedo Ximénez sherry, and Medjool date liqueur. There was only one menu available for a party of our size, a pre-set family-style group feast for eight adults, to which we added a pre-ordered platter of lamb chops. I loved the variety of dishes that came with this meal, and every one of them was ridiculously delicious. (There was less available for the three small American children, but they loaded up on hotel breakfast and snacked on naan and colorful puffed crackers.) The first round brought trays loaded with keema pau, okra fries, and bhel, along with lime, cilantro, and sauces for serving. The keema pau was incredible, probably my favorite dish of our lunch, if in part because it was 100% new to me. It was a spicy, aromatic blend of minced lamb and peas with dill and lindi pepper, served with toasted, buttered buns to make little sliders. So much flavor, it almost explained, by itself, why the British could never leave India alone. The okra fries were warm and crispy, and I loved the bhel, a crunchy snack of puffed rice, peanuts, and Bombay Mix tossed with pomegranate, tomato, onion, lime, tamarind, and mint. The main course was another giant spread: chicken ruby, house black daal, awadhi jackfruit biryani, and chilled broccoli salad, plus our charred lamb chops, with sides of roti, naan, and raita. The chicken ruby was the highlight here, a fragrant, comforting curry Chicken Ruby Tender chicken in a rich, silky makhani sauce.
