On our recent trip to PR, we noticed so many sushi restaurants. We stopped into Tayzan for lunch one day on our way to the beach. The service was fantastic and the sushi was very fresh and tasty. We started with fried dumplings and yellowtail and jalapeno appetizer. Both were delicious. We then ordered a spicy tuna roll and 2 pieces of eel sushi. Everything was so good. Best Chinese food ever! They are open late nights and it's so good! Very lively in there! I love the variety on the menu and I couldn't get enough. The good: they are open late. Brightly lit. Clean looking. Their soda machine was apparently calibrated correctly. Now the bad... The first thing I noticed about this restaurant is that the chopsticks they provide are the absolute cheapest quality I've ever seen in my life splintering at both ends. No amount of filing them back and forth helps. I did not heed this harbinger of things to come though. It took six minutes for the server to come to the table for the first time even though the restaurant was almost empty. This isn't that big a deal to me but seemed to annoy my party. The food... eh. The chicken and beef I'm venturing weren't of the highest grade. I gave this two stars because I didn't die. Pretty much everything down to the steamed rice was not great. The mango chicken was meh (I really questioned the quality of the chicken used - or the cooking), and the rib eye teriyaki was fatty and unremarkable. The vegetable spring rolls I suspect were frozen. Even Panda would be an upgrade and you know how I feel about that place! To top it off, it was absurdly expensive for what we received... like $180 for 3 people for this subpar experience. This meal should have been no more than $95 including tip. Service was good, they are busy so getting someone's attention can be a challenge. Our last night we tried the udon noodles with beef and veggies, again, delicious. The meat was tender, the sauce was delicious and more than enough for two. We started with two egg rolls and same, didn't disappoint. The place is big, the food worth stopping by for. Just know that it does get busy. I would avoid sitting outside, it's too close to the street and it seems like you would be tasting the exhaust from passing cars. read more

We decided to come here to try some Asian cuisine here in PR for the first time as it seemed to be a hit out here. We were seated quickly and was pretty busy inside. The server was attentive but hesitant as I think my aunt overhwmeled him lol as he didn't these we wanted two bento boxes and I had to wait extra time for mine. The bento boxes come with a a lot. I wasn't a fan of the pork egg rolls or the fried unfortunately so I left those but everything else tasted great. The pork was barbecued and the vegetables were just broccoli which was steamed tender crisp which was great! No rice! My wife ordered orange chicken with rice and veggies. She received no veggies so I shared my plentiful broccoli with her. We asked for soy sauce and plastic utensils. Received neither. Can't comment on ambiance since it was delivered. Overall, not impressed at all. Might try eating there once so we can ask for things they forgot, just to check the ambiance. I give it a 2.5 out of 5. The food was delicious. The service was terrible. Restaurant wasn't too busy when we came but by the time we left it was crowded inside and out. Our waiter took our order and he never came back to our table until it was time to give us our bill. One of my family members food came within about 10 minutes of ordering the rest of us waited over 30 minutes we didn't see our waiter during that time and we had to get the attention of 2 others waiters to check on our food. We eventually got our food and we still didn't see the waiter. Once we saw him he was handing us the check. He never came back to even cash us out. Came here our first night in town because the teens wanted sushi. I ordered the crispy spicy shrimp roll. The gingIt was good but not spicy in my opinion (to understand my tolerance- I stick to basic franks, cholula, etc. can't do much spicier lol). I also had a lychee martini. I was not a fan but I'm still new to lychees. My friend loved her shrimp General Tso's. Unfortunately, the teens did not like their food. One had chicken fried rice. The other ordered a sushi roll (can't recall which one). We asked if one of the girls could order another roll since they didn't like the one they had and it became an entire ordeal where three different servers and I assume the manager/owner stopped by. When we made the request, we never said we weren't willing to pay for the first roll but feel the automatic assumption was we were seeking something free- we simply wanted something new for a picky teen. A woman came over to understand the request and walked away and uttered "oh my god" under her breath. The manager/owner came over to tell us that he lost everything in the last hurricane and this is the "last time" this can happen. We were calm. We were polite. We tipped our 20%. The woman was surprised but they made the accommodation and we have home training, however, the treatment of a 14 year old was very disappointing and unnecessary. Ordered chicken fried rice and chicken lo mein and juiced them up a bit with a bit more soy sauce for flavoring but they weren't bad. Service was attentive and food was an average wait time. Had the lychee martini. It was made well but my stomach hurt immediately because I forgot to ask them to substitute their well vodka for something more top shelf and easier on my aging belly lol. It's an extremely popular late night spot but there's always a table either inside or outside. Four stars because it's decent enough and you know what to expect. They could stand to turn the AC down a bit inside. Felt like Antarctica and wasn't necessary at 11pm.
