I went based on the glowing reviews but had a different experience. I brought my Moto X in for a battery replacement. They replaced the battery and even managed to save the NFC antenna attached to the original battery. So far, so good. In the process they cracked and destroyed the back of the phone. When I pointed this out to the guy at the counter, he spoke with the tech and said "it was like that". It wasn't like that when I brought it in, so I'm not sure which one of them cracked it. Based on all the other reviews, these guys are good. If you're taking you're phone in for work, be sure to have them note any damage (or lack thereof) on your phone before handing it over. $30 for the service, not including battery. read more

This is one of the friendliest and most honest electronics store I have ever had the pleasure of using. AT&T improperly pushed in my Sim card in my iPhone and apparently bent the housing and the Sim card itself slightly. TAZ opened my phone and simply bent the Sim card and housing back making the phone work. They did not charge me a diagnostic fee or any amount for the service. I requested to at least pay something given they fixed the phone. I believe it was the owner that was extremely friendly saying they did such minimal work, they would be no charge and simply wished me a Merry Christmas. TAZ could have told me anything and probably charged me any amount, and I would not have known better. This phone was a Christmas gift for my daughter and the most important thing was to have it working. I would highly recommend TAZ to all friends and family. read more

I dropped my iPhone 6 Plus today when I was running. First time I ever cracked my screen!! TAZ is close to my work so figured this would be the easiest place to go. They open at 10:00 on Fridays, I showed up at 9:59 and they were already open and helping someone. I showed them my very badly cracked iPhone thinking there is no way they are going to be able to repair this thing. The guy took a look at it told me it would cost $129.99 and he could have it fixed in an hour. I went back at 11:00 and my phone screen looked brand new! I also purchased tempered glass for the screen. It's only $10 installed with a repair. They did a great job but I hope I never have to return. read more

This guy is amazing. He's fixed my phone multiple times (I work with kids). Their shop closed, so they are now mobile. I called to set up a time for him to repair my phone, and I met him outside of my apartment. I was a little iffy at first when he said he would come to my home; but, they don't come into your house and they are extremely respectful. He took my phone to his car and it took all of 20 minutes. He knocked on my door, returned the phone and I paid him cash. He even included a free tempered glass cover and 3 month warranty in case there are any issues. I called Taz to replace a battery. He is not working out of his business right now and is coming to your home. He replaced my battery and did not even check it to see if it needed it. I was not home at the time and my husband went ahead and paid him in cash because his Square was not working at the time. I have called five times and texted multiple with no response to help with the battery that is just as bad as the other one. I wish I would have put this on a credit card so I could dispute the charge. Will not use this business here again. Took my phone in to get the screen repaired since it was cracked. They called me a half hour later and said the screen wasn't cracked, just the tempered glass cover that was on the screen. STOP!! DONT DO IT!! This place is past unprofessional. Okay so my iPhone 6 had water damage and yes I have insurance but thought to myself I need this fixed now! I saw taz was the cheapest around so let me check it might be cheaper then the 150$ my insurance wanted. I was told by the guy working sure man no problem will have it fixed back to 100% in anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. I was told the price would be 30 to 80 dollars sounds better then going though insurance right?? Wrong! That's what they led me to believe. I wait one day nothing I wait two days nothing I wait three days nothing. On the fourth day I'm sick of waiting! I call to see what's going on oh here's the good part. Sorry still not ready where going to look at it today and see if we can even fix it. Say what?? Ok so your not sure if it can be fixed and I ask ok if you can fix it how much will it be?? He replies between 80 and 150$!! I finally said forget this im coming to get my phone. It gets better I get my phone turn it on and it works fine!! These guys didn't even try turning it on hoping they could open it up find something wrong and charge me. I really hope I save someone from making the same mistake I did. If you have insurance on your device use it if not find a better repair shop. This place is a total rip off and made me go without my phone for almost 5 days. After researching several Tampa iphone repair places, I chose TAZ. Their website had the best iphone screen repair price, a mere $10 less than anyone else, but they also had some good reviews and I like supporting family owned businesses. I phoned the store to make sure they were still in business, that they had the 5s screen in stock, and that they could finish the repair by the end of the business day. I was told if I came before 4pm, they could get it done. I arrived one hour after hanging up with the store. However, as things went wrong, the two employees there, Kyle and Ben, both claimed not to have been the one to speak to me on the phone. Their repair price jumped from the advertised $79.99 to $109. The excuse provided: "prices have gone up and it is difficult to update our website" and "the owner knows about the problem, but there is nothing he can do because the prices are higher now." I asked why no one mentioned the pricing on the phone call, but again they claimed they didn't speak to me. I mentioned that price at the mall somehow was still only $89.99, even with these sudden distributor price increases, that I only drove to their location because they were less, but it didn't matter. I asked what could be done about the surprisingly higher price and I was told "nothing" and "sorry, have a nice day" from Kyle. The handling of this situation is ridiculous. It is fairly easy to mention to anyone who calls that the website is incorrect and to inform people of the current price before they drive across town. I was very specific about the item being repaired, there is no excuse for not seizing the opportunity to disclose the huge price increase. I said I would write a negative review if they didn't try to make this right, but that was not an incentive. Everyone knows the pricing of the parts for this repair, it is the labor that is desired. They need to stand behind their advertised prices. They should take a small loss whenever a customer complains until they pay their web designer to remove the pricing page. Or, pay the darn IT person to update it. If I could charge them for the time I wasted driving to their store, I would. Additionally, before we left the store ANOTHER customer entered and became irritated when they tried to charge her more than their advertised price. She also left the store without leaving her phone for repair. Bottom line: This family business does not take responsibility for their mistakes and will not try to make things right if something is wrong. read more

I have had several phones repaired by Taz. Including my bosses phone. Not only are they knowledgeable, but I have called around to all local shops within 5-10 miles and Taz has had the lowest prices even time I check. They offer to diagnose your phones issue and have told me there's no fee for that service. I am notnsure of thats an ocassional promotion or available all the time. I walked in because I knew my battery for my IPhone 6 was fried and I didn't feel like restoring my phone and regretting that mistake to cause more problems. So I got a recommendation from a co-worker to go to TAZ. I was greeted by Guy and he asked me a few questions about my phone. He said it could be multiple things but I knew it was my battery it had to be. I asked him to replace my battery and it was a lot cheaper then I thought it would be. Luckily he could have it done in a hour and I was pleasantly surprised. I went to TAZ after Verizon told me my phone was unfixable and I would have to replace it. The volume down button was stuck, which put it in recovery mode. I was extremely upset at the thought of losing a year's worth of pictures. At Taz they were not only very knowledgeable and friendly, but they had it fixed in 5 minutes. I needed a screen replacement for my iPhone 6 Plus and did NOT want to make the dreaded trip to the Apple store at International Mall. That store is always packed and you have to take a seat and wait, and wait and wait only to be told you need to leave your device and come back in a "few hours" or even days! My husband found this store on YELP and I'm so glad he did! I called first and Greg was very friendly and informative. I dropped my phone off at lunch and they said it would be ready in one hour! The tech initially thought my LCD was cracked too so that was slightly more ($20) to repair but when I went to pick up my phone after work (with no lines and no waiting), I was told the LCD was fine after all and they didn't have to charge the additional $20. This store was so convenient to my home too. Greg repeatedly told me that if I had "any problems at all, please come back". Great service, great workmanship. Let me tell you if you have an Iphone or any other phone that has been dropped or broken or not working---this is an amazing place. Ben at the desk knew right away what the problem was and it was fixed for a relatively low cost. Lot cheaper than getting a new phone. My son was visiting from out of town and his Iphone was broken.
