So sad to report that I was fooled by raving yelp reviews. Chicken shawarma gets zero stars. Completely soggy and inedible. Sauces are bland and nothing stand out despite ordering ketchup, white sauce and hot sauce on the side. I tried my best to eat the shawarma but it's impossible to hold because the wrap melted down into a soggy wet tissue after a 20 minute drive home. Even after air frying it was still disgustingly wet. We stumbled upon this place while looking at other businesses in the area, and we were shocked about how jam-packed and popular it was! It was during Ramadan, so probably many people were here breaking their fast. Parking is limited and it is very tight. Seating indoors is very limited and it is loud inside. There are many great Middle Eastern businesses in the area that you could look into while you're also here. There are many options for creating your own wrap or platter. There are a lot of toppings and it is a make your own bowl type of experience. The sizes are huge, the food is very flavorful, and the service is fast. Price was good and a typical entree could easily feed two people. This will be my go-to Middle Eastern spot in the future, and I'm happy we found it! 5/5 read more

Pretty solid, with some asterisks. In general, Taza is really good - relatively affordable, in a convenient location (for me), somewhat chill, and with fast service. That said, it's a bit of a cafeteria vibe that spoons stuff out of containers, so the food can get kinda dry on occasion. Some days, the meat is awesome and everything is tasty - others, everything ends up kinda dry and gummy. Prices went up in 2022 like they have everywhere, but this is still a great value for fresh, homemade Lebanese food. Again, Taza delivers on: - Fresh spit-roasted carved-to-order shawarma - Fresh baked soft pita and breads - Fresh toppings - Low prices - Big portions At these prices, the pies (huge and as priced as low as $1.95) are more bread than filling, and don't expect your pita to be stuffed to overflowing. You also won't find expensive toppings like eggplant and roasted vegetables that some other places offer. However, anyone who visits Syria, Jordan, or Turkey and other countries in the ME and Africa he or she can see the vast difference in taste. It can get dry and stale which influence the over all taste, Not to mention bacteria build up. Meat has to be exposed to constant heat at the right tempratures to prevent food bateria. The service: Well understand that most workers there -from what was seen after visiting them a dozen time- are just young kids trying to make it in today's life. it will be a smarter decission by owner to add an older cutomer service experienced person to his staff in order to monitor the youngsters, and to handle all type of custormers especially those who have issues. Wait till we witness delivery by robots/IA's. Just imagine those machines going through horrible traffic congestions. Lord help us. Finally: Those commentators who say this place is the best or that place is the spot...etc. is neither true nor accurate. There are similar restaurants world wide that are many times better. If you have lived in the Greater Met. Washington area in the last decade, you probably have visited or seen a restaurant called "shawafil" that was located in H st. corridor NE Washington DC. They literally fried the best falafel that I have ever had in my life hands down. I got the bowl but I could have gotten the sandwhich. It smelled great and the staff were super helpful. Relatively fast ordering and food prep. ...and you can have it your way. Pick from a number of sides and sauces to dress up your meal. Tastes like authentic Lebanese food, nicely spiced and bursting with fresh house-made flavors and a generous portion to boot. Color me impressed. The place is not much too look at. Minimalistic in decor. And the seating is minimal. I opted for takeout as it was almost as hot inside the restaurant as it was outside 90 degrees+ today. After seeing the videos and reviews on different social media platforms, I decided to give them a try and drove 40 minutes just to try their shawarma. Because I believe in supporting the community and helping small businesses and of course I LOVE shawarma. But unfortunately I wasn't very impressed and it wasn't worth driving so far. Food didn't taste fresh at all or even properly cooked. I have tried much much much better and fresh shawarma than that in the DMV area. Second, customer service is terrible. The person taking orders and prepping the food is very rude. Third, my food was BAD. What I had was definitely not a beef shawarma. I don't recommend this place. When you get to the area, check the side of the building. I was intrigued by the authentic rotating oven where the man was heating my pizza and baking pita bread. I came here without any particular dish in mind to order. With the help from the lady at the cash register, I picked non-English named dishes! Lahm Bi Ajin (basically ground meat pizza), Zaatar pie, cheese pie and a bag of pita bread. Lahm Bi Ajin is full of meat. It puts pepperoni pizza to shame for the amount of topping. The whole pizza is covered with ground meat! I squeezed the lemon to eat. It was delicious and was not greasy at all despite the amount of meat on the top. Zaatar pie is something new to me. It's a bread with olive oil and sesame seeds. Freshly baked pita bread smells heavenly and I can enjoy just by itself. No dip needed! The whole order was only $12 and it became 2.5 meals for me. They put customers in a hazardous situation while they were fixing the ceiling and the maintenance guy is in the middle of the hallway, adding to that the manager was rude and not welcoming we came as a family for a quick bite and enjoy our food and he start complaining of not pointing to the food.it was the worst experience never again . First of all there's no sign at all regarding pointing at the food. We did not touch or anything just pointed from above and the manager called us out in front of everyone which is considered not ethical. The falafel was moist and flavorful! Baba Ghanouj: which is basically roasted eggplant dip. This baba ghanouj was soooo good!!! Spinach Pie: I ordered 2. They are large pastries filled with spinach and spices. It was tasty, but was missing something. The gentleman who answered the phone said I was getting the last two so maybe that had something to do with it. I dipped the spinach pie in the baba ghanouj and then the flavor profile was complete. Pita Bread: I got 2 ordered of pita bread which I used to make falafel sandwiches and to dip in the baba ghanouj. Nothing special, just regular pita bread. All in all, this was a great choice! Delicious! I ordered a meat flatbread, chicken platter, and yogurt drink. Prices are very reasonable. If you order a bowl they put your meat/falafel and rice etc into the bowl and then you help yourself to any of the vegetables and sauces they have set up in a kind of open salad bar. I love this because you can take what you want and not what you don't in any portion you like. If they get busy it would probably more efficient if they did it for you. Honestly for me the highlight was all of the pickles, sauces, and veggies. Mixed together it makes a perfect meal. I'll be going back. This is my go-to meal for when I was something delicious, not unhealthy, and affordable.
