I'd been wanting to try Jerusalem Restaurant for years and I'm glad I finally got the chance. We were nearby on a Friday, and they have a lunch buffet on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Jerusalem is so pretty and is beautifully decorated. The staff are friendly and service was excellent. I think they were concerned we did not eat enough. Their buffet is huge! The food was delicious. My favorite was the lamb mandi and rice. The lentil soup was delicious. Their pita is so good. There are plenty of vegetarian options. I loved dessert and the tea with it. Never disappointed. The food here is always delicious, and the staff are always so warm and welcoming. There's free parking right outside the restaurant, and cozy setting right inside the restaurant. This is a great place for family, friends, or someone special. I continue trying new things here and have enjoyed everything I've tried. Highly recommend going to this restaurant, including for holidays. They have a beautiful buffet with lots of wonderful salads (freshest Tabouleh ever!), veggies (roasted root vegetables, steamed broccoli, tender bulgar and rice), Mediterranean dips (hummus, baba ganoush), chix/beef/lamb dishes prepared such different ways. Extremely rude manager. Tried to return their stainless steel platters to them in order to get back the deposit we paid on them, $50 for each platter. They refused to refund it to me! Explained that the person who paid the deposit had died and that is the reason they were being returned now. They didn't care!!! Ambiance was dark and stark and smelled like cleaning solution not food.... We had a delicious lunch at Badawi earlier that day, and I am so thankful we ate there! Would be happy to return their platters to them if they will refund me the $50 per platter deposit we paid! They tried to refund $50 for the 2 platters, but that is not what we paid. We were looking for a place to have a light lunch in our shopping tour to Falls church. We checked the reviews and popped in. Parking is on the backside and the ambiance is very pleasant the second you enter. Fridays seems to be the lunch buffet and the attentive staff showed us the different courses of many colors and flavours. But today was all about light lunch so a tough pass! We peered malfoof (Brussels sprouts) Fattoush ( salad) Hummus and chicken kabob as an entree. What can I say, not perhaps so light as planned. The food was good but the fattoush was way too bitter so the pomme granate was overused. Hummus was good, but better Olive oil would have done the trick! The pita bread, soup and Brussels sprouts were good. So was the soup Harriri that comes with the entree. As fa goes the chicken, there is always a trade off when you grill small pieces with bigger ones. So the bigger ones were juicy while the small one was burnt and hard. I came here based on a strong recommendation from a friend, particularly for the lamb--which I genuinely love. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were told the buffet is only available on weekends, so we decided to come back another time. At that moment, I urgently needed to use the restroom and asked a staff member if it was possible. The waiter flatly refused, stating that the restroom was for customers only. As a result, we chose to stay briefly and purchase a few desserts. That decision turned out to be a mistake. The server's attitude was consistently rude and dismissive. He hurried through the process, throwing items into the box with a "this, this, this" approach that felt less like efficiency and more like contempt. His manner was so rushed and careless that my friend--who speaks Arabic--asked him directly if he was in a hurry. That question, unsurprisingly, was brushed off as well. If there is one thing I can commend, it is the remarkable consistency of his rudeness. We selected only a few sweets, yet the total came close to $40. When we hesitated in surprise, we were met with, "Then don't buy it," followed by more pressure to hurry up. At that point, we paid and left. My friend apologized to me for having brought me there. I cannot comment on the quality of the food. It may very well be astonishingly good. But no matter how exceptional the food might be, I have no interest in returning to a restaurant where guests are treated as an inconvenience. Good food may bring people in once. Courtesy and professionalism are what bring them back. I sincerely hope the restaurant owner takes the time to read this review. read more

Everything was delicious and ambiance was great but only issue was I came with a family a four for the $36.99 weekday ramadan we also got 4 drinks total no more than $24 In total our bill ended up being $217 instead of $169 Idk what tax is $47 or if its a tip mixed with tax but $48 extra on my bill is was unpleasant. Had a great experience the other night at th Ramadan Special Iftar Buffet hosted by Jerusalem Mediterranean Restaurant. The buffet began promptly at sundaown and there were just so many dishes to try! Highlighting the meal was the whole roasted lamb, and the Koshari. Delicious! The lamb was a tender slow-roasted perfection, where even the lamb belly was a melty collagen experience. Like a good pot-roast, but better and with lamb. The Koshari was something I had never tried and was a flavorful spicy mix of rice, macaroni eggplant and spices. I can imagine it to be a good comfort food. My wife raved about the Roasted Eggplant with Walnut and enjoyed the chicken soup,and fried tilapia. The Chocolate Baklava and Om Ali were a sweet ending to the meal. I like the rice pudding too! The Iftar Buffet is a good showcase try out many of their fine dishes. One of my co-workers told me he had an event catered from here as well. As a Palestinian, I'm often very critical of middle eastern restaurants, but this place, exceeded all my expectations and brought me back home. The ambiance and decor from the minute we walked in was beautiful and peaceful. The service was always on point. The staff was friendly and spoke Arabic too! I don't know what to say about the food other than it reminded me of being back in my grandmothers kitchen in the holy land. My partner and I recently dined at Jerusalem. He has Palestinian and Lebanese roots and wanted to support this local restaurant. We were beyond pleased from the moment we walked in the door. The decor pays homage to the Palestinian culture and key people who have worked tirelessly for the liberation and recognition of the Palestinian people. The food was excellent! We ordered the vegetarian appetizer which covered several bases to include a really good hummus and spinach fatayer. My favorite part of our meal was the lentil soup! It was warm and comforting. Something I'd want when I'm not feeling great. We then split the Lamb Fatteh. The lamb was tender, the yogurt tangy, and the pomegranate seeds balanced everything out. I saw this place open up relatively recently, so when my friend and I wanted to grab some impromptu lunch, we decided to try something new. when we entered, we were so surprised with how beautiful the interior was. They clearly spent a lot of thought, time, and money into designing to make it look truly Mediterranean. It does make you feel like you are about to experience. My friend and I decided to sit outside, as they have some seats with umbrellas outdoors as well. there are a lot of options on the menu, and many things that looked yummy. I had to look a few of them up since I'm not too familiar with Mediterranean cuisine. I was super excited about their drink menu though, because there were so many tasty options like smoothies and juices. My friend and I shared our meal and went with the arnabeet (cauliflower dish, mhammara (dip), and mix grill (lamb, chicken, kafta). I really enjoyed the arnabeet and there dip was good as well. Somehow we got a small soup (I don't know where it came from lol) that seemed to be tomato-based with small noodles and cilantro and it was super delicious. We had mixed feelings about the mix grill. Regarding Middle Eastern cuisine, I must remind myself it will vary based on the owner's and chef's ethnic backgrounds. I can not expect the entire region to prepare the same food with the same dose of seasoning; otherwise, what would make it different from one another. After seeing some of the reviews in terms of service, I was conscious about it, so I carried patience. They did take some time to process our order. On the night that we went at the time of our visit only two staff members were taking the orders. Around us, we had less than a handful of families, but they had a bit of larger orders than me and my friend had. Ruba, the young lady who serves amidst all as the evening progressed and started to get busy, carried herself professionally and with a warm smile. She was well-mannered and friendly, and she was very attentive while taking our orders and providing her recommendations. If she is your server, you are in good hands! * When you are at the table, there is a button that you can ring to have one of the servers come to you, in our case, to refill the water. I ordered Fatteh, but they were out of the ingredients, and she could have suggested the other vegetarian option. Still, she quickly jumped in and provided a suggestion with an alteration. I ended up ordering Makloba. As our appetizer, we had halloumi. It was fried to perfection, but it was missing something that I had to remind myself to keep an open mind a bit and not let my bias ruin the appreciation for how it was prepared. The Makoba, the rice tasted deliciously, and at least for me, it melted in my mouth. It had enough flavor and fluff. My only reservation was that it was loaded with carrots more than any other vegetables. I was surprised that I could have tasted the rice, but the overload of carrots for me was a bit too much for my liking. It could have benefitted from other vegetables. The provided sauce helped to enhance a bit of the flavour of the eggplant in the dish without overpowering it. Lastly, we had high expectations regarding the baklava when we ordered the ashtota. They at least delivered without failing in this department. The baklava was well flavoured. The ice cream, sadly, did not stand out too much. We asked what flavour it was as we had difficulty making it out. She confirmed it was pistachio. I have tried pistachio flavour ice cream before with pistachio nuts. In this ice cream, the flavour of the nuts was barely noticeable. One last thing, as we were finishing, it began getting crowded. We saw a lot of families, and most were wearing their Palestinian pride on their sleeves. It was nice to see their community supporting this Palestinian restaurant. Overall, this restaurant is decent and is worth a try and visit. I may come back to try their falafels instead of their entrees. The ambiance of the place is suited well for families and friends. The music playing is enjoyable without overwhelming you too much. Also, around the restaurants, you will see a lot of prominent Palestinian figures that is worth checking several of them out and seeing their contribution not just in their country but around the world. Trust me, there are worse options out there. Give them a try. For me, it was okay and good enough to satisfy my hunger. read more

We dropped in one afternoon when we had a few hours to kill while our car was being serviced. We'd driven by dozens of times but had never thought to explore owing to the less than inviting curb appeal. In the end, this was truly a lesson in not judging the book by its cover. Once you walk in, you are transported to another world, with interesting wall decorations and vibrant lamps of all colors hanging from the ceiling. Nothing fancy, but definitely a sign that there is pride in culture here. We opted for a series of small plates, some familiar and some not. On the familiar side, a really good baba ganoush that was smokey and tangy. On the less familiar side, small eggplants stuffed with walnuts that were an interesting mixture of texture and taste. We eagerly ate through all the dishes and only wished we had room for more! Well, we did have room for dessert, which consisted of a variety of different middle eastern pastries. I had the pistachio baklava (FOUR pieces for $2) and a Turkish coffee, which was a really nice way to end a fantastic meal. Really good place! For some reason they canceled my Uber eats order so I called one in. I got a shwarma wrap that included the house salad which is basically diced cucumbers, unions, tomatoes, greens, and garbanzo beans plus a nice cream dressing. The wrap was really good but didn't taste like the normal shwarma flavor which was okay because it's still delicious! It's a great meal for the price, they had it ready in under ten minutes, staff is really friendly, and the presentation for a takeout order is great! Also, I didn't gets pics but the inside of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! Sit down if you can/feel comfortable. It definitely is a good place that is big enough for social distancing.
