Pleasantly surprised by TBaar here. I've passed many opportunities at other locations because there were too many options but this was a convenient boba on the go, right before the subway station. This window shop is a no frills boba spot serving up pretty basic drinks (milk teas, fruit teas, and smoothies). Pretty fast, a much better wait than all the hype spots. Quality is average, but all things considered, an above average experience. I guess I'd consider it cheap at $6.50 for a large with boba (which is crazy to say) because the hype spots are upwards of $10 now. Bubble Black Milk Tea - basic, but hard to mess up. Boba had a faint sweetness that could be better but the chew was solid. Almost bouncy, better than many other spots which shocked me. Drink was fine, seemed like a mid black tea with creamer rather than anything high quality but for the price and time, I'd say above average overall. read more

Passion Fruit Tea has small chopped apple, strawberries, mango, Pineapple, and mixed coconut jelly. I have tried other drink options from TBaar previously too. The coconut smoothie, Watermelon smoothie and Taro drink. Bubble tea is available for any Bubble Tea lovers too. Everything is always made fresh. The best is knowing no extra added sugar or syrup to really taste your drink. When you're in the mood for a small piece of a crepe cake or matcha cake slice, it is also on the menu too. The matcha crepe cake was the only I ordered here and was so amazing I was only able to take a picture if a mostly eaten crepe cake. For a slice at $7, it was pretty good and almost like lady M, but of course not as good. But for the convenience of not having to go to Manhattan for a slice made it worthwhile. I will definitely come back here next time I visit this food court. What a nice way to end a meal!! I did inquire about their whole cakes, which has 10 slices each. The mango and the matcha are $65 each and the durian is $95 for the whole cake, again, 10 slices. They really should have the pricing of the crepe cakes on their menu, because that information was no where to be found. But the staff members there were nice enough to give me that information. This is the only bubble tea place in flushing where I can find Thai milk tea (thank God). The Thai milk tea was decent, sweet, not too strong. The employee asked if i wanted whipped cream on top & who can refuse that? Nobody ever asked me if i wanted whipped cream at any other bubble tea place. That was an awesome 1st. T'barr or not T'baar. That is the question. A Passion Fruit Bubble Tea by any other shop would taste as sweet. Or would it? What to get: Any Bubble Tea that they recommend. It's on the bottom floor of the New World Mall, alongside a ton of other bubble tea and food options. It's right next to Gong Cha. The Passion Fruit bubble tea here had all kinds of stuff in it. It was filled with bits of joy and delight. I have no idea what it was, or if the regular comes like that or it was some kind of special. What I do know is, my favourite milk tea next door (Gong Cha) were rude to me and wouldn't serve me 10 mins before closing, whereas this little shop not only served me, but were super helpful and friendly about it. There are ads for TBaar on every table in the food court, it seems, which is kind of funny and cool. I'm not sure how it does up against the massive chains on the same floor such as Kung Fu and Gong Cha, but it deserves some of your time and tasting abilities. I am glad I have never had TB, but I'm even more glad that I've had TBaar. read more

I feel bad that I didn't give TBaar a try from the first time that I went to the New World Mall. It was easy to go to the familiar names -- Kung Fu Tea and Gong Cha. However, once I gave it a try, I haven't bothered to go back to any of the other drink places. My two favorite drinks are the Coconut Smoothie with Mixed Jelly and Tapioca as well as the Green Milk Tea with Herbal Jelly & Aloe. There are also many other flavors that are featured in the poster on the side wall. It's hard to forego what I know is good even though I'm sure the other options would be great too! I came here since I was at New World Mall and wanted bubble tea. It's just convenient if you're eating at the food court already and want bubble tea. TBaar is cheaper than Kung Fu Tea and Gong Cha so I usually go there. You can customize the sugar and ice level (25%, 50%, 75%). I ordered a medium taro milk tea with tapioca. It wasn't too sweet and good taro flavor. I still like their smoothies and slushies more. I really like their coconut or mango slush. When it's warmer, I'm definitely ordering a coconut slush. They do have crepe cakes now so maybe next time I'll try their matcha crepe cake. read more

This is one of the best bubble tea places I've been to in NYC. Fresh fruit, fresh tea. You can really taste the tea, and that's one of my favorite things about TBaar. Prices are standard ($3-4 for a M, $4-5ish for L), and your tea is ready within minutes. As far as milky teas, the TBaar milk tea with boba (tapioca) is a nice classic choice. Not too sweet by default, and the flavor of the black tea stands out. The fruity flavors were quite nice too. It comes with chunks of fresh fruit and the flavors of the tea and the juice are both there. Really nice on a hot summer day. I've tried a bunch, and my favorite is the Lychee Lime Green Tea. Ok so whenever L sees a juice place he needs to try it.. so I told him this place made fresh juice at the mall.. since we were going to get food over there, might as well get a healthy drink, right? He returned with a carrot, orange juice and something else.. I wasn't paying attention. He was laughing when he came over to the table. He saw the machines this shop was using to make their juices... it's the same breville juicer we had over 6+ years ago that I threw out after moving since it was in storage for a while and I didn't want to deal with cleaning it. So good! I rarely go to a place twice in one day for something but I honestly think TBaar might be the best boba and tea in the neighborhood. I've had Tiger, CoCo and Song and all of them are decent but they rarely meet the mark for product and service. The young lady who helped me today was great. She was super friendly and helpful in giving me time to order and pick out what I wanted, let me know when they didn't have something and the drinks were freshly made with real fruit. The brown sugar milk tea was delicious. I'll have to go in the time when the boba is ready but the milk cap was amazing. Less salty than Song's but the taste and flavor was there. Located in New World Mall this location is my go-to after spa and doctors appointments, I frequent this place enough to save this from a 2 star review, but doesn't spare me the WTF face when I took out my drink later to find them barely filled. Great place/chain for offering unusual/extensive drinks than just having the standard boba milk teas. This place offers fresh fruit drinks from flavored lemonade to mojitos to fresh fruit slushie to healthy $9 fresh wheat grass drinks. All the drinks I have tried were refreshing and tasted pretty good. You are able to adjust the sugar level which the sweetness level seems to be consistent to your request.
