My first visit here was very disappointing. I was craving for matcha latte so I ordered a matcha bubble tea. I still remember how terrible my first sip was. It was a weird mixed taste of bitter and sweet. Tea is bitter but this bitterness was just not right. I do not know how to describe it but since I had good matcha latte many times, I could tell the difference. It was also sweet because they put lots of sugar in it. Horrible Thai iced tea, watered down with also boba that had no taste. If you want actual real good Thai iced tea, go to Kyuramen a couple blocks away or Mr. Buncha in Sunnyside. I wanted a refund for the drink or an exchange but they refused until I kept insisting, because what was I gonna do with this tasteless drink??? The girl with glasses and an older man kept going back and forth with me until the girl gave me an exchange for Thai iced tea with no bubbles. This is a nice little boba spot in the middle of Flushing! My friend and I stopped by as we were on our way to the subway, and I wasn't sure what to try so I went with the regular Taro milk tea with boba. I'm surprised that no one created a listing for TBaar inside the New World Mall. Even more surprising is that they decided to open DIRECTLY next door to Gong Cha and within tip toe distance from Kung Fu Tea. Yikes. That's some stiff competition. But I happen to like this place. I came to try their bubble tea after a meh experience in one of their city branches and I have to say the quality is better here. I ordered coconut milk slush with bubbles and fruit jellies. Everything was fresh and the coconut milk tasted fresh instead from concentrated. I did have some spicy food prior so it might be that I was in a state of euphoria as well but either way it was pretty good. They offer other REAL fruit stuff such as smoothies and of course bubble tea. Loyalty card? Yup, they got that as well. First of all, for a place that is supposed to be the "healthier" version of bubble tea, my green apple green tea was just food coloring and tea! It tasted alright, wasn't the biggest fan. Maybe I'll give it one more try and try one of the expensive drinks on the menu and see if it's worth it. Also, I tried the matcha crepe cake and I was very disappointed. The cake was so soggy and mushy. It would have tasted better if I could feel the texture of each layer of the crepe but everything was just fused together. Thy accept card and have a variety of teas/boba, fresh fruit smoothies, and fresh vegetable and fruit juices that are juiced right in front of you. Never get their crepe cake. Im not sure on what world you think it's okay to serve old mangos and crepes. A fresh cake has texture, what I got served was what tasted like day old crepes layered by a disgusting cream containing mango leftovers from the days prior. The food here is mediocre at best. However it is cheap, which can count for something. Had the corn on the cob which was very soft and mushy. As my friend said, Chinese people can cook a lot of dishes well, but corn on the cob ain't one of them. The dim sum was nothing special. Again it was cheap, which counts a little. I had one of the absolute worst Taro Bubble Teas ever here. The color was very light purple and the flavor was so weak. It tasted like they just added a few pinches of artificial flavoring and food coloring and blended it with ice. It was so terrible that I took them back to ask the person at the counter if this was actually Taro. She gave me a confused look and insisted that there was nothing wrong with it. After getting nowhere with her, I gave up and handed back the two bubble teas and left in frustration. Stay away! read more

Decent bubble tea and juices, although the variety of fruits and vegetables for the juices is quite limited (carrots, celery, apple, tomato, and cucumber only). Prices are great ($2.50 for a bubble tea and $4 for a small juice) and we got our drinks pretty quickly. The bubbles themselves are small but pretty chewy. I tend to prefer slightly larger bubbles but that's just me. I'll be back to try the smoothies next time and update accordingly. read more

I love TBaar. I wish there was more in lower manhattan, but first time I tried was in Flushing, Queens. I ordered their mango smoothie and man is it delicious. If I had known this place existed earlier, I would be here every other day (bubble tea everyday clearly can't be good for you). I've been on my search for green milk tea like Fantasia's back in California, and this place is the closest bet to what I'm used to. Their pearls are smaller than most boba places, making it easier to chew, but at the same time, why?? Other than that, this place is awesome. They also have a large variety of fruit flavored teas, smoothies, and milk teas, more than most other bubble tea shops. They said that's what I ordered. I specifically asked the girl if she had almond bubble tea, she said yes, I ordered that and I said I want it with milk. She gave me a black tea with almond milk. She called over her manager, I assume, and I explained what I wanted, we has an exchange then, he started laughing at me, the cashier started laughing, and the other workers started laughing....in front of all the customers. I don't know if their establishment don't sell almond bubble tea with milk, but they indicated they did, and on top of that, they were very condescending in their demeanor, and downright insulting. That said, I don't like how they advertise them as being all fruit and no added sugars, except they do add this fruit syrup that makes it way too sweet and artificial tasting for my preference. I went to this Tbbar in the evening on 07/05/2016, and after I ordered a large bubble tea, the man inside the counter just poked a pre-made small bubble tea and poured it to my bubble tea cup, after adding a little more fresh made milk tea, the large cup of bubble tea was handed over to me. Drinks here are pretty good. Although some are too sweet. Mango slush is good and my favorite is the Passion fruit tea because it comes with fruit and colorful jelly. Large drinks can get a topping for free! They also make fresh fruit and vegetable juices. The service here is not so good but it doesn't stop people from going there because of the variety of drinks. Very refreshing on a hot summer day. Don't forget to ask for the punch card. They don't advertise it but will give you one if you ask. Take note that not all drinks can be applied to the punch card and there is a minimum price of a drink for one punch.
