After my favorite BBQ place closed down I needed to find a new place. I've heard good things about this place and have driven pass it while I'm the area before. It's a small place with about 10 tables and a bar area for seating. First thing my wife and I tried on this visit was their deviled eggs, fried catfish and brisket plate. My wife enjoyed the deviled eggs which were good. We ordered the half order which was 3 halves. Kind of odd that a half order is 3 halves. What do they do with the 4th half? Lol... It was topped with bacon and a drizzle of something I can't remember. The fried catfish was moist, juicy and delicious. The cornmill breading gave it a nice crunch. The tartar sauce accompanied it nicely with a squeeze of lemon. The slaw and fries were also great. I had the brisket plate with mac & cheese. Other then Dempsey's in the Kiln this is the only other mac & cheese I like on the Coast. Cheesey gooey goodness. I know mac & cheese is a hit or miss at some places and also a hit or miss depending on the day you go. On this day it was just right. The brisket had just the right amount of fat to make it juicy and delicious. It comes with a small drizzle of the mild BBQ sauce on top but, there are bottles of the mild and spicy BBQ sauce on the table if you need more. Do I recommend this spot, YES!!! This was the best accidental find on a quick trip to Mississippi and is truly worth the drive back intentionally. The atmosphere was cool and full of historical murals and pictures. The decor was a vibe. The food, laws the food was sooooo good. That meat was truly top tier with the seasoning on that meat. Y'all that meat have my mouth watering as we speak. Oh and how are there multiple variations of deviled eggs??? They come in sets of threes. The bartender was really cool and easy to chat with. He took my order and it came out timely. Be checked on me often and gave me what I needed without delay. Can't wait to go back. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. read more

What an awesome stop. We brought our friends here from Iowa and it was the first time for us as Bay St Louis residents. There wasn't anything I could complain about aside from the deviled eggs being ungodly salty. Otherwise it was all good. * My favorite is their pulled pork. Soft and succulent. * Their sausage links taste like Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage with a bit more refinement. * Smoked beans taste straight from the pit. * Pickled onions mmmm * Ribs have great smoke flavor * Mac n cheese was creamy and thick * Catfish is so soft and breading is perfect. Things that weren't AS GOOD * deviled eggs were salty * cornbread was kinda meh; dry and no real flavor * I could use waffle fries instead of regular ones Despite these minor flaws it's heavily leaning towards a 5. Service was terrific. They're new yet so we will see if they keep the same demeanor and quality in another 6 months. Guys! I was blown away! I had the Red Eye drink special ... it was perfect on all counts! The chicken thigh (boneless) and waffle was so good. Hubs had the sausage and beans while daughter had the bbq pork fries. It was all amazing on taste and presentation. The ambience was not at all what I expected. We stopped by this place during Cruisin the Coast and it was PERFECT! Great bbq, service, and multiple TV's for the football game on Thursday night. Great seating indoor as well as outdoor option. Prices were great for the potion sizes, especially for a good BBQ restaurant. Will definitely be back... maybe even tomorrow for lunch! read more

Lunch today was excellent. Really nice generous portions of everything. I had a pulled pork sandwich with PERFECT fries. IMO crisp on the outside and soft in the middle, All handcut and cooked to order. The coleslaw was very good and not overly sweet. These are lovely friendly people and the service was spot on. The owner Chris, tells me he will cook beef brisket soon and yayyy for that. But until then the rest of the menu is worth trying. I was in the area and loved the name of the place "that boy good" bbq so I proceed to go in to be skipped over by the owner as he proceeds to greet another couple there was no way he shouldn't have greeted me when there was only two people in the entire place... I order the pulled pork sandwich with fries and a slaw topper..... the pork had to be 3 or 4 days old which came out to be 20 bucks!!! my toilet suffered the consequences later that evening!!! The best BBQ around. The pulled pork sandwich is loaded with meat. My husband usually get the ribs which are always tender and tasty. The sides are fantastic. The servings are so large that we always take home enough for our dinner the next night. The servers and the owner are very friendly and the service is awesome. I have ordered to go from them twice. The service is simply not good. I order to go because I prefer to eat on my boat, which I keep in the BSL Marina. The product is good but the attitude on the part of the owner leaves much to be desired. Yesterday, on y last visit. I walked out after being greeted and then waiting and waiting. For him to take my order. I was feeding six and wanted pulled pork sandwich's with sides and drinks. After a wait of about 5 minutes, I decided to set a timer for five more minutes. The owner was ignoring me. The alarm went off t off and I walked out thinking that we can't do business if they won't take my order. I was told the new owner came here from California. That tells me a lot about him. News flash!!! It's going to be difficult to grow a business while being too important to be respectful of the little people of the Gulf Coast. The owner always dresses nicely, but the attitude, well. I wrote a review yesterday on FB, but it is no longer there. I'LL BE SPENDING MY MONEY ELSEWHERE. My time is valuable.
