Christine cut my hair and she is the sweetest lady. I hadn't had a haircut in over a year because I was growing it out for my wedding. Fastforward to now, my hair was a dry mess. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and we talked about the length. She cut my hair exactly how I asked. And we added a deep conditioning treatment because my hair was so dry. I LOVE my hair! I haven't had such a great haircut in a long time. Christine really takes her time with you and is easy to chat with. There were three men appointments after me-- and her prices are great! Went in for purple highlights on black hair without bleach and a haircut. Color - didn't come out the way I was expecting, she insisted it was because I should see in the sun. I did the next day and nope, still it's basically black hair with an overall purple sheen. But may be it's just my hair couple with me asking for no bleach. It doesn't look bad, just not the way I was expecting. Cut - now i have 2A wavy hair and I don't usually like to straighten or blow dry it. Of course I went in without styling my hair and not taking care of the frizz from the braids I slept in the previous night. She cut the layers way shorter than I was asking. No checking if the length is okay, just a big chop right away. When I said looks short, she said "more?" and went ahead as I was saying no while insisting that's the length I asked for and it will look good at the end. Kept telling me it will only look good if I blow dry. At the end, I asked her to at least make the layers more gradual and even. She got mad, told me that my hair growth is not even on both sides and that's why it won't be even. That I came in with horrible hair, I should ask my friends if it looks good first etc. It was very mean and I didn't even end up with a decent haircut. I preferred the overgrown hair I went in with to this haircut, not the color but the cut. Yes, if I style it perfectly and don't tell people what I asked for, they wouldn't be able to tell that it's a bad hair cut. May be it's just me, but I think the owner of the hair has to be happy with it not the owner's friends or the person cuts it. TLDR: she does what she likes, irrespective of what you ask for. There is no consultation part. If you protest, you get scolded and get told it's all your hair's fault. read more

Just moved and decided to give this place a shot. Really great haircut. I went in for a walk-in (which is explicitly welcomed by the way!) and got an AMAZING hair cut. Super fast and only $19 for a men's haircut + tip without sacrificing on quality, which is a steal compared to other salons. Honestly, probably one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I went yesterday, after covid finally has lifted restrictions on salons. Chau has been doing a straightening perm on my hair for years. I tried 4 salons before her and they really damaged my hair, Since I found her I will never let anyone touch my hair but her! She does such an amazing job, she takes her time and knows what she is doing. She leaves my hair soft and shiny. It lasts a long time about a year. Wasn't super impressed. The salon seemed clean and was playing relaxing music. I was a walk-in and only had to wait for one previous haircut. Good price ($20). But there was only one stylist and there was a definite lack of English communication. Service during COVID: While walking from downtown Sunnyvale, I saw this place with an "OPEN" sign. I have been in desperate need of a haircut and recolor, so this place was a site for sore eyes. I decided to call first to check availability and the scheduling process. A nice lady named Chau answered, and luckily I was able to be taken in the same day. Chau was professional and personable. Very attentive to detail and asked questions to ensure she understood the style and color I wanted. The safety guidelines were adhered to: wore a mask and gloves, solo salon chair stationed outside, one waiting chair six feet away. Customers are required to wear masks. Tip: If you're going to get a color job, be sure to wear a mask you don't mind possibly getting stained (maybe a disposable one). It's tricky trying to get the dye to cover all the hair around your ears/neck. From start to finish, everything took about 2 hours (not bad at all, especially when I'm used to color jobs taking upwards of 4 hours or so). She did a PHENOMENAL job! She enhanced my layers and gave the overall style great texture. Plus, my hair is very thick and heavy, so she offered to thin it out: A+! I'm so pleased with how it turned out. Also, the price was extremely reasonable. Hoping that this salon will stick around and continue to operate later in the year, as I will definitely come back to Chau for my hair needs! read more
