So I went there today and I ordered chicken fingers for my son and a steak and cheese with provolone and pepperonis. The kid behind the counter says oh that's a kamikaze I said I don't care what it is as long as the steak and cheese with provolone and pepperonis, I get home I have this monstrosity of a soggy bun with steak no cheese pepperoni's tomato sauce and barbecue sauce. Not what I ordered it all plus I don't know how you read this with the soggy bread either way I'm disputing the charge with my credit card Company because this is crap normally I try to work it out with the vendor but every time I call it just keeps ringing and ringing read more

Not sure what happened but the cheese steaks have went downhill. Hardly any cheese, lukewarm...disappointed today

First: Craved a Greek salad so went to TCL. Ordered from the overhead menu ... cashier charged me about a dollar extra - woman behind the counter said prices had increased but board had not been updated. No big deal but ... Second: Got the salad home - the pita bread wrapped in foil (for how long)? is stale and edges are hard. The lettuce shreds on top disguised the browned and wilted lettuce pieces underneath - had to throw out more than half the lettuce. Third: My salad had only 2 cherry tomatoes, no purple onions or sliced pepper. The black olives were tasteless ... not kalamata. Fifth: Most importantly, the feta cheese tasted like cottage cheese - no tang whatsoever and actually disgusting to chew. Finally, the 'Greek' dressing was such a disappointment - it was unauthentically creamy and tasted more like diluted ranch with a hint of vinegar. Needless to say, I do not recommend the Greek salad. read more

Sad to learn that after a menu overhaul, they got rid of the pesto steak sub. Super disappointing as that was my favorite sub by far. Most of the other sandwiches are still on the menu, so now the firecracker is my #1 (pepperoni, pizza sauce, steak, provolone). Staff seems to have had a shakeup as well, but still a bit rough around the edges. I wish they would expand into the vacant space next door, or just move to a larger location as you feel like a sardine in a can while in there. Cheesesteak, buritto and pizza! Ate here with wife and kids after we all went bowling next door. The place is more set up for take out, but they have four tall stools facing the window - that's where we ate, no biggie. Read reviews after eating here, and not sure why they are getting poor customer service ratings. They were very accommodating for three kids, and patient with all our questions, even offered more chips while we waited for our food to be ready. Definitely not rude. Kids got plain cheese (lame!) but it was good, more cheese than usual pizza, but not to a fault. I got a chicken cutlet club which was great and my wife got the MOAB (burrito) which was awesome! Burrito and (small) sub were large portion size and price was average. I will definitely come back and will try a burrito next time!!! read more

This place was really busy and had a steady business of takeout orders. They are fast and the subs are gigantic (even the smalls are huge.) The drawback for me though was that the sub roll for my veggie sandwich was soaked with whatever juices they cook with (and that was immediate) and when you try to eat it in the car it spills all over the place. Didn't have any issues with placing an order, I called it in, they said 15 minutes....I walked to Dunks, got a coffee, came back and went in. Weak three stars, but the pie was free thanks to coupon I received in the mail. Acton does nothing well, and its reflected in all of the local restaurants. The pizza was OK. I bit light on the sauce & toppings, but decent taste. Certainly much better than Domino's, but not what good pizza memories are made of. Parking in the strip mall can be tough. A little pricey. I love the food, especially the Greco and the Budster but MAN are the people here RUDE! I was in the other day and it wasn't that busy, however, a call came in and the worker at the register got a call and literally slammed down the phone. First i need to say i never write reviews, but couldn't resist.I used to come here 10+ yrs ago, subs were always great, huge portions, reasonably priced. I got a large turkey sub w/bacon & cheese. It was $14.25! Bacon was a soggy / greasy mess and added zero flavor. I didn't even know that was possible?!? The real reason for my review is the woman behind the counter was the most miserable person I think I've EVER seen in this type of business. It was almost comical. People were just shaking their heads and didn't know whether to laugh or be scared. I really wanted to say something but pretty sure she'd go beast mode on me (literally and figuratively speaking) Meanwhile the owner's sitting in the corner doing his own thing, and could care less. 7-8 ppl walked in and she starts screaming to him to help. Great quality sandwiches. I ordered roast beef with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and lettuce on an Italian sub. All of the ingredients down to the tomatos and lettuce were shockingly fresh and flavorful. Best Cheesesteak in New England or Philadelphia! This is greatest thing to happen to Acton since Robert Frost stopped here at a rest stop and was inspired to write a poem. The steak and bread were both perfect. The only thing that would make this better is if they had Cheese Whiz sauce like they do at Pat's and Geno's. (Don't ever go to Geno's in Philly, owners are meanies.) I also didn't like the fact there are only like five seats and they were all taken when I went there. I had to slum it over to the next door Dunkin Donuts to find a table to eat my steak and cheese! I think I stunk it up there because Fred the D&D guy gave me dirty looks and guilted me into buying something. So i bought a $0.89 French Cruller so I'd have a right to use their table. This is a guy's lunch spot. The dudes making the subs are all business. The portions are huge and the menu selection is also enormous. A lot of people complained about the lines on Yelp, but going around 1 pm on a Saturday, I was able to get two subs without any problems. I had the small Cajun steak sandwich. It was a lot of spice for the sandwich. It wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, it's just that the flavor was monotonous after a while. It was also salty and had no visible cheese. My wife had a more classic steak and cheese with peppers and onions. It was delicious and much more of my style. Don't get lost in the menu. Stick with the classics here. read more

I LOVE TC Lando's steak and cheese. It's really the best I've ever had. I think it's the super fine ground beef that they use. It's not hamburger, it's ground steak and because it's so finely ground, it just goes down real easy. I get mushrooms, peppers and onions on mine with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I'm usually all for toasting the bun but not here. They just know how to do it. Why not 5 stars if I love this place so much? Because they're mean! Don't expect any type of customer service. They're rude and mean and just don't give a shit what you think or how you feel about it. It has to be good for me to keep coming back which is probably why they're like that. Just went for the first time and ordered a Large Steak Special at around 12:35pm. It took about 10 minutes to get the sub, even with about 10 people ahead of me (place was packed). The cheesesteak was delicious, and was still piping hot after an 8min drive back to work. Highly recommended. The Large is very big. I suggest sharing or saving the 2nd half. I was to keep up my momentum to finish it, but I'm also 245 lbs :) It appeared as if there were metal tables and chairs outside, but no one was using them (it is Winter right now). read more

I've been going to T.C. Lando's for over ten years, but as of today, never again. Their customer service has to be, hands down, the worst I've ever experienced. My experience today really pushed me over the edge. I understand that it's a busy football day. We called in our order. No please, thank you, what can I get for you, nothing. "What do you want? Name? 15 minutes. hang up the phone" We get to the store. Stand there for ten minutes before anyone even looks at us. The rude woman who answers the phone rings us up. No please, thank you, etc. We wait. There are upwards of 15 subs all sitting on the shelf ready to go. After another ten minutes, the woman starts putting the subs in bags next to the counter. We continue to wait. When I notice that people who ordered after us have received their hot subs, I get up to ask about ours. Turns out they've been ready since we got there. I'm understanding to a point - it's busy, things happen, but when we've clearly been sitting there for upwards of 30 minutes AND have already paid for the food, you would think someone would take five seconds to ask what we were waiting for. Instead, the woman throws the bag on the counter and starts to ring us up again. No apology, nothing. I have to point out that we already paid 30 minutes ago and finally get a "sorry about that" as we're walking out the door. It blows my mind that this is acceptable behavior at Lando's. Based on other reviews and word of mouth, I know I'm not the only one who has had this experience. I don't need to pay $15 to have someone be rude to me for giving them my business. read more

Ya gotta stop at this place in Acton, MA. This sub is awesome...They have tons of specialty subs...including some great Chicken Subs like "the Buster"...but I prefer simple SteaknCheese with Mushrooms and Onions...maybe some pickles once in a while Be sure to grab a little salt and pepper too. Other than 4 stools in the front of the place, ya can't dine here...so be sure wherever you end up trying to eat this thing, you're sitting down with a plate and some napkins. (I tried eating this thing on the road and ended up wearin' more sub than I could eat). It can get a little sloppy if ya leave it for too long...as the fresh bread is SO soft, it will sop up the grease from the real beef quickly... And if you can eat a large, you're a better person than I. Even the Mini-Sub is substantial! Other than that sub...I've had the pizza...slices are huge and very tasty! If you're driving by them on Route 2 and you don't stop in, you missed out. They've got some other places (owned by the brothers if I'm not mistaken), but haven't been to those. When my friend suggested stopping here for some subs, he didn't get much of a reaction from me. When he mentioned they were owned by the same people as Carl's in Waltham, a smile came over my face. Parking here was tough. It doesn't get much better when you get inside. It's tiny in there. Plan on taking it with you rather then sitting in the front window. When we were there, the stools were all being used by people waiting for their orders. I had a Chicken Parm Sub that tasted great. Juicy chicken with just enough sauce and plenty of melted cheese. The bread was toasted to perfection. Next time I'm in the area (unfortunately doesn't happen often), TC Lando's is at the top of my list. read more

This is a tough one - I would think more of a 3.5, but I'll give them the benefit of no half stars here. Simply put - HUGE subs with plenty of good toppings. Its the kind of sub you get when you just want to indulge in all the salt and fat your body might crave and wash it down with several pints of beer - kinda like getting awful, yet oh-so-tasty chinese takeout. You know you shouldn't, but its generally worth it. No real complaints, other than I found the bread to be very 'meh'. Maybe it is 'designed' to be bland to make the meat etc stand out more - but for me, a major sandwich snob - the bread should be better. My family got some pizzas from here. I got a gluten-free pizza, which I'm not entirely sure was actually gluten-free. We were assured it was, but the receipt claims low-carb... Either way, the edges were burnt and the middle raw. Nasty. Everyone else got normal pizzas. I have been going to TC's for over 25 years. They have come a long way. I love their food and the quality control, I know I can get the same taste when I return from where we have moved to years later. The one downside is the customer service, brutal! Phone orders are quick and sometimes rude. Then when you go in there is no thank you or appreciation for us picking this place to order from. I wish that Carl Lando would shape up the staff to be more customer oriented. Hoping they expand to Dunkins space when DD leave so there is seating and a better atmosphere. Whatever cheese steak you think is better isn't. This is the holy grail of cheese on meat on bread. The pizzas and calzones (especially the buffalo chicken) are great. I have never had the Mexican options, but I have likely eaten my weight in Smokey Joes (cheese steak + pastrami) over the years. These sandwiches live in my heart, figuratively and literally. May I live to eat 1,000 more. I have had a variety of service experiences over the years, but mostly I don't have to think about it. Even large orders are 99.99% accurate (my whole family orders together from TC's a couple times a year, never a problem.) Sometimes when the owner rings me up he'll throw in a free soda with my sub (but don't go expecting these favors.) I ordered two pizzas from here for a children's party. The pizza was ok-ish, but I've seen much better. The kids even left half of it in the box, which is very a-typical for 10 year olds. It was impossible to grab a piece without dropping half of it on the table or floor, there was that little firmness to the pizza. I think the bottom may have been thinner than it should have been. Too much sauce is also an option, in any case it didn't look very good and the taste wasn't all that great either. Not bad, not good, very unremarkable. All in all, not a horrible pizza but not a good one either. My daughter described it as "quite soggy and slimy", we'll try a different pizzeria next time. read more

I have been a fan and loyal customer of the Landos for probably 40 years - starting back in Maynard and then when they moved to my hometown of Acton. During my high school years at AB Friday night dinners from TC Lando's were a regular thing for my family as we were all going our separate ways and doing our own things in and around town but that was the one thing we all agreed on and enjoyed. Unfortunately after my experience last night - and my last visit there a couple of weeks ago when my order wasn't ready on time and then I got home with it I found out it was wrong, my TC Lando days are done. They seem to have fallen off when it comes to service and I wonder if they even care about their customers anymore. I went in last night on my way home and ordered a small pizza to go. (When I walked into the Acton location there was another person sitting on a stool waiting for his food but that was it.) There were certainly plenty of people working - I counted 5 behind the counter. Truthfully, I found over $14.00 for a small pizza to be a little high but I paid it and sat on a stool to wait. While I was there two people came in to pick up their small phone orders and one man who had ordered online came and got his food and the person waiting when I walked in also got his sub. So it wasn't busy at all. (None of these orders contained a pizza so my pizza was the only one I was aware of the entire time I was in there.) The guy who took my order seemed to kind of stick 'up front' at the counter and helped everyone who walked in. There was a woman who seemed, for the most part, to be responsible for making and cooking any pizzas, and I'm not sure what the other three were doing - I did see a girl at the grill doing a steak and cheese at one point but the other two males seemed to just be joking around as it was relatively quiet. After what seemed like a lengthy time for one pizza the guy who took my order asked me what I was waiting for - at this point I am the only one in the place, and I told him a pizza. He asked what kind and I told him and I saw him go back to the pizza oven and open it. He then shut the oven and called for the woman who seemed responsible for the pizza to come over and he said he needed her to make a pizza while laughing. I was now standing at the counter looking at everyone waiting for somebody to tell me what was going on and all I got was the guy laughing then others joining in. I asked another one of the employees who was closer to me what was wrong and he told me that she overcooked my pizza. Not once did anyone there apologize to me for the long wait or the fact that they messed up!! The first thing you should do is try to make it right for your customer - not all sit around and laugh at it. (And how did this get overcooked when I was the only one in there?) They all had time to gather around somebody's phone and watch whatever was on it but not to pay attention to the food they were supposed to be making? I didn't have time to wait for another pizza as I had hungry kids waiting at the house; and the fact that nobody is apologizing to me, but they all laughed about it, really irritated me so I asked for my money back. I took out the card I used to pay for it and - sure enough, suddenly nobody there knows how to refund money to a card. How is this possible? Tory and Carl Lando - look who you are leaving your store with when you aren't there!! These people work for you in a place that bears your name and yet they can't even make a pizza, apologize when a mistake is made, or refund money that is owed to your customer. IMHO - shameful! Carl, who does know me as a loyal customer there, I will miss your food and I have loved supporting local hard workers through all these years but your service has gone so far downhill and it seems none of your employees really cares about the customer. read more

Tim gets a steak & cheese and I get a buffalo chicken salad. We like 'em both. Definitely get fries--they are soooo worth it. This little store front gets packed--don't plan to eat there. TC Landos is always busy and packed when I've gone for lunch. But do not let that scare you away the wait times are not very long. The people taking your order don't want you standing around trying to decide what you want when it's your turn but nobody else there wants to wait either so go with whatever you enjoy and I guarantee you it will be delicious. I go there for one thing and that's the cheese steaks. They use cubed steak which is nice and tender and the cheese to steak ratio is just perfect. In my opinion the best cheese steak I've had anywhere ever. And yes I've been to philly and had that joke of a cheese steak at the "best spots". The pizza is also great which is usually ready to go by the slice when you are. Overall don't let long lines or New England attitudes scare you away from this place the food quality and quantity you get will keep you coming back for more.
