I broke my back 3 years ago. The functional training areas, knowledgeable staff and great yoga and other classes helped me get the well rounded experience that one needs with such a long road to recovery. Yesterday, I touched my toes for the first time in 3 years. I went home and wrestled with my little boy, and I did it with strength and confidence that I built in these 4 walls. They advertise all sorts of amenities--equipment, classes, personal training, a sauna--but good luck actually using any of them. Booking anything is an exercise in pure frustration, the sauna is never working, and the locker rooms are filthy. And don't even think about trying to cancel your membership. It's a complete scam. They'll send you in circles between phone calls, emails, and in-person visits, each time insisting you need to submit your request in a different way. They never call you back, and just when you think you've finally escaped, they somehow manage to make it worse. At one point, I even received a "Reactivate Your Account" email--suggesting my membership had been canceled. Turns out, that was a lie. Instead, they must have messed with my information in their system because I never heard another word... until I suddenly found out my account was in collections. Unbelievable. Save yourself the headache. Avoid this place at all costs.

Checked the website, no cancellations. Went to the HYP yoga studio next door to ask about an alternate entry point, she didn't know but believes that door to be the only door. The Sweatshop lives upto it's name ... at least I'm leaving my sweat all over the floor. Robin, with her passion for fitness, welcoming personality, and fun approach to getting each individual thru a class, is a star. No one session is the same as the next. I do 3 classes a week and get a full body and cardio workout from her huge array of simple to follow exercises. Amazing what a workout you can get in 30 minutes with a chair and a single 8lb weight. I'd been dragging and looking for a good total body workout that wasn't an endurance competition or some fad. This is good old fashioned exercise done with the purpose of getting you fit and enjoying it while you are doing it. It's the best combination. And not easy to do.

World Gym in MIlford closed and supposedly gave their accounts to these folks. I say gave because…read moresupposedly they received nothing in return and gave World Gym nothing. Baloney. Do you know if you do nothing Your ETF payments will start automatically flowing to Midtown? They can do nothing and sit back and rake it in. It is we the customer who have to go to considerable trouble of cancelling our ETF payments if we don't want our money to go to this over crowded gym that we have never even entered before and did not choose. They have no room. Equipment is jammed together willy nilly all over the place. This is nothing like we signed up for at World Gym. Everyone should cancel their ETF payments immediately. Also it is a complete lie that they are honoring World Gym's contracts. I pay by ETF but my neighbor paid World Gym upfront and got several extra months in return for paying in advance. Is Midtown honoring my neighbor's contract? It is not , despite the statement on their web page. SO CANCEL YOUR ETF"S . I suspect they are paying under the table money to World Gym depending on how many passive suckers stick with them.
