One of the few TCBY's I've been to that isn't self serve which I like. They have parfaits and shakes! Plus, they have a moxie java inside and there is a drive thru! The girls here are super friendly and sweet and they were so helpful! You can't ever go wrong with the white chocolate mousse. Their sorbets are refreshing and delicious!

Morning latte from Moxie Java. The woman working there was going it solo so she was doing the drive through, prepping food, and making coffee and she was so nice and friendly. Great way to start the day. Latte was good. Service efficient. Happy with the stop even with no reason to get the colorful toppings.

Haven't been to a TCBY in over a decade. I can't wait to return and then try the moxie side.

It was so dark in there so I could barely see at the end haha. The table we went to was chipping on the side so anytime I moved it caught my dress which I wasn't not a fan of. The double stuffed was more like a soufflé than a cake - the star of that plate was the cheesecake ice cream. The chai mocktail was alright. It had a coffee ice cube which I wasn't a fan of since it was like gritty. 3 drinks and two desserts were $65. I feel like that's insane. Again - I get it, it's an experience but, eh. My first time was better (pun intended!). The dessert was so-so. I got the Naughty by Nature and the lime was WAY too tart. I wish they had more variation for those who don't want a lot of chocolate or peanut butter. My guy had the Peanut Butter Perversion and said it was too creamy. We may try again one day, but not too soon. I do love the menu process and ease to view options.

You can't drive up to it, so that's a consideration for people with any ambulatory issues. However, there is a parking garage close by, so that will satisfy most people. I drove into the access for the parking garage, and dropped off hubby, as he has had recent foot surgery. I then drove back out to the street and parked. I do like free parking. The area in front of Carmella's is beautiful and expansive. A breeze was blowing, the leaves were moving, and you get to capture that view and feeling inside the restaurant. We sat right at a window. Hubby and I shared the Raspberry Almond Tart (GF) and a Latte. Yeah, it was GOOD. I mean good as in I Could Have Eaten An Entire Tart. But, come on; you know I didn't need that whole thing. Sigh. I will admit that my initial reaction to the Belgium waffle wasn't great. For a dine in experience, being served in a to-go container felt a little off, and the Smucker's syrup didn't exactly help matters. Let's be honest, that's not real maple syrup, and it definitely took away from the presentation. That said, the waffle itself redeemed those first impressions. It was delicious, light, and had this subtle hint of vanilla that made it feel a little more special than your standard waffle. That touch of sweetness and flavor helped me quickly forget my initial disappointment. The breakfast presentation could use a little upgrade, but the taste absolutely delivered.

This good ice cream shop is in proximity to other restaurants that's ideal for dessert after a meal. Personally, I'd go in the summer time after a haircut (Julio's best barber in Greenville). Prices aren't bad at all. In 2025, anytime you can get ice cream for well under $10 is a win in my book. Quality of ice cream is good. Not the largest variety, but they have a seasonal menu. The honey lavender flavor is one of my favorites and one that I'd get the next time I go back. My only complaint is one time I went and they closed at 8:20pm when the sign says they close at 9pm. Perhaps it was a one time thing that it happened. Every time I've been, I've consistently seen young family present with their children. Hubs had the meatballs (which the server said they only had two left...a friend nabbed the others) and other friends had the moules (mussels) frites and the braised short rib IIRC. The *.frites were the biggest hits. My filet was perfect, Sharon was raving about her mussels being the best she's had in ages. I had a bite of the meatballs, they were ok but people agreed there are better things on their menu. I love that the frites come with a choice of 3 out of about 10 different custom mayos (aiolis for the fancy-schmancy). I tried the curry, sriracha, and a fruity one I can't remember exactly what it was. I liked the fruity one the best and to my surprise, the curry the least (I usually love curry, but the balance was off). The sriracha mayo was too subtle for me, I slather sriracha mayo on my burgers regularly. I have no class. The frites were fresh cut and I enjoyed them but there were far more than I could eat on my plate, and sadly frites don't keep. They have my favorite super sweet Lindemann's framboise lambic on tap; I've only ever had it in bottles before, so that was a treat. My husband thinks I'm crazy to drink it because it is SO SWEET but I love it. So does Sharon, and clearly we're not alone or they wouldn't waste a tap on it :). It's beer for people who hate beer. (I resemble that remark. Maybe hate is a strong word. But in my 30s I realized I'd rather drink a soda than a beer, except for this one.) Desserts sounded good but we were too stuffed to order any. Next time I come, I may try the mussels, or I might just order that steak again.

It's in a basement that feels like a pleasant dungeon or a 1500's rogue tavern, you know, the kind in the movies where plots to overturn evil rulers are hatched. It is a unique vibe and after your meal, when emerging back onto the brightly lit street, it's akin to stepping out of a secret place and back into the light of day. The beer selection is impressive. This food is Belgian inspired. Hence the name being derived from a mix of Trappist Monks, trap doors, and a hidden underground enclave. Many of the beers have higher alcohol content, listed on the menu, be advised. The specialty is Moules Frites, mussels prepared in various broths and fries double fried in duck fat served with a flight of your choice of flavored mayonnaise such as wasabi, curry, truffle, sriracha, etc. Very good. Reservations are highly recommended. It was a busy Thursday at 6:30pm and the place was literally packed, even the bar. The two of us were seated in a large, dark, alcove booth fitting for six or perhaps even eight. We had a reservation, so the hostess said, "we may as well fill it" since it was that crowded. Being such, it was five minutes before we were noticed and placed our drink orders, another five before our water arrived and we ordered and about 30 minutes later to get our food. In between we were left to ourselves. The service was not negligent, but it was minimal and not really friendly either. It was a busy night, so we will have grace. But the mussels were delicious. We both had the Provincale, a rich, savory, Mediterranean sauce of tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Bourdain says "never order the mussels", in his Kitchen Confidential book, but here you are safe because they are very popular and the main feature. I've probably said this before and it is worth repeating, they need to up their crusty bread game. The broth is so good and the accompanying bread just doesn't lend itself to bringing the dish to another level, but it could were it better bread. This is a solid and must do restaurant experience when visiting Greenville. It arguably should be the "one" restaurant you must visit in town because of its unique ambiance and unique food & beverage.

I was in the mood for some homemade soft-serve ice cream. To our surprise we stumbled upon River Streets Sweets- an homemade candy and ice cream confectionery located in the heart of downtown Greenville. I was in Oh, with the desserts they had ranging from candy, fudge, chocolate covered apples, soft-serve ice cream, popcorn, nuts, chocolate covered pretzels/marshmallows, and so much more. Thankfully my family was there because I would have bought everything-it's a child's dream. At last I got the soft-serve ice cream I was craving all day. Let me tell you, the ice cream, gelato, and sorbet were truly homemade. To my surprise the prices were not as pricey considering they were in downtown Greenville. My family got two scoops in a cup costing $7.95 a single scoop is $4.95. The scoops are a decent size for the price you are paying. River Streets Sweets has some unique flavors that I have never heard of before, such as Bear Claw, Blueberry, Hazelnut Coffee Crunch, and Pink Grapefruit. They also serve Raspberry Sorbet sugar-free which is nice. My family decided to get Rocky Road and Bear Claw. The ice cream was so rich, creamy, and flavorful. It did not taste artificial like some ice creams in supermarkets. My whole family was pleased with the purchase. The staff were extremely friendly, especially the one member who was mending the ice cream section. She was so kind and energetic, letting my family sample the flavors before purchasing, which a lot of food businesses do not do. In addition, to my surprise, the store was huge, leaving plenty of space to walk around without running into other customers. The store was organized, making it easy to see all the yummy treats. There was no visible dirt or dust, the businesses looked polished. The only downfall would be the parking situation, since they are located in the heart of Greenville parking is limited. I would recommend walking and parking in a free or reduced parking area. The next time I am in downtown Greenville or around the area, I will be stopping by River Streets Sweets to indulge in some of their other sweet treats, such as their fudge and chocolate covered apples. I would recommend checking out River Streets Sweets if you are in the area.
