I called tecky multiple times telling them my laptop was working for a few minutes and then died completely. I've used 2 different new chargers and it still doesn't work. They want to Charge me again, I already paid $200 for what they said was just plugging it in and it worked for them. When I first called back they didn't try to come and look at the laptop again. And today when I called they basically said it was my fault and hung up on me. They hung up on me. I gave them a chance, wasted $200 dollars and now they want me to pay more for the same problem. Unless you have a degree in computers, even if you do, don't waste your time with them. Unprofessional and a Waste of Time. I even gave them a $18 tip!! Don't waste your time!!!

For my most recent repair, they picked up my macbook from my home, replaced the battery, and delivered it back to me in, no exaggeration, 2 hours start to finish. (I didn't pay any extra rush charge or even say I was in a hurry or anything.) I don't think I've had a repair anywhere else that was faster than like 2-3 days before I got the computer back. Another time I asked about a very specialized problem that they don't deal with, and they were totally upfront about not doing it and directed me to someone who could help. Also a great sign. And both repairs are still working great, so good quality as well. I'm going to be sticking with Techy for any future repairs!

LapFix ordered the replacement, only to be sent the wrong product. LapFix re-ordered a correct replacement and charged me over $100 for labor. The replaced screen only lasted 2 months before splitting apart again. I'm not a hipster that drags my laptop around town and park at coffee shops for hours, my laptop rarely leaves my home. When I returned to LapFix they plan to order from the same supplier and will charge me another $350 to replace the screen. I said no thank you, at this point I might as well buy a whole new laptop. Hey LapFix, maybe you should change suppliers, they're probably selling you refurbished crap.

They originally offered to refund the labor only or replace the part again, but after two failed installs, that wasn't a good resolution plan. I was able to get an approved dispute with my credit card company and was fully refunded. A reply to my review making it look like there was an attempt to refund me isn't transparent. Again, sometimes it's best to measure a business on what happens when something goes wrong, not just when everything goes right. A true measure of a business is how they handle things when things go wrong. I want to start by saying the actual service experience was good. Fast turnaround, friendly staff, and when my first screen replacement had dying pixels, they replaced it under warranty without any pushback. That part of the experience deserves credit. However, the second replacement screen was also defective. Graininess in low light, visible dark spots, and the screen would go completely black during phone calls. At that point I asked for a refund rather than a third installation, since I'd already spent enough time and didn't want to gamble again on the same part. This is where I think the real test of a business happens. Anyone can deliver good service when everything goes smoothly. What matters more is what happens when it doesn't. I had an independent diagnosis from Apple confirming the display issue, and the shop initially agreed to a refund on the condition that I return the old screen. The problem was that Apple, who repaired the phone separately, retains all replaced parts as their own property and doesn't return them to customers, a policy I confirmed directly and documented for the shop. In the end, the shop declined to issue a full refund and only offered a partial refund for labor, even though the part itself was the source of the defect, not the installation. I came into this wanting to be fair, and I gave the business multiple chances to resolve it. I think it's reasonable to expect a full refund when a product fails twice, especially when returning the part wasn't even possible due to circumstances outside my control. I'd recommend this shop for routine repairs based on their speed and friendliness, but be aware of how they handle things if something doesn't go as planned. They would reference that they work with the local Apple Store, but I spoke with the Apple Store and they have several customers come in after poor third party replacements and service.

And was flexible with me to be able to meet at his house & drop off my laptop. The issue was the left side hinge that someone came undone. He left me know he needed to order some screws and the updated price. Once he had the hinge "fixed" he didn't like the way the laptop screen now "stuck out". So he brought a new screen/backing for my laptop. Since he was not personally happy with the way it looked, he offered to buy me a new/used latop. I never saw it with the "poked out" screen but I would have rather kept my laptop. He said he would take some time and research for laptops of my specified specs. So, I said okay. Please let me know what you find before making any purchases. A few days later he calls and tell me that he opened up my laptop, saw water damage, and now miraculousy my laptop NO LONGER WORKS. The screen does not appear - even with external monitors, just black. This was very disappointing and frustrating. Laptop worked fine before I dropped it off, with the exception of the hinge that came undone. Not sure why he didn't check everything (atleast turning it on/off) in the beginning. I even asked if he wanted the power charging cord when I dropped off the laptop.
