I first went here about a year ago when a Nissan dealer told me the bushings on my 2007 Altima should be replaced; it's low mileage for a 2007, which is why I wanted a second opinion. Jason put my car on a lift and showed me the bushings. They had a slight amount of wear but he said they didn't need to be replaced. I appreciated his honesty, because if he had told me I should replace them, I would have done it. I took my car there recently for an oil change and because the tire pressure sensor had come on, but the tires were fine. Jason explained how he re-set the sensor, so I didn't need to replace it. The total cost was reasonable and definitely less than I would have paid at a dealership. This garage is in a space with other auto repair and body shops, and space is a bit tight, but don't let that discourage you. I highly recommend T&D Auto Repair, and Jason. He is very honest and won't do a service you don't really need to make more money. read more

Good price, explains what needs to be done, does the repairs in a logical order in case the small stuff solves the problem so you might not have to pay for big stuff. Seems simple but so many shops try to just replace all possible things at once which can be faster but you end up not really knowing what went wrong to begin with. Like his style. read more

I am so impressed with TD Auto Repair. My catalytic converter was stolen and I was searching everywhere for a replacement part. We were in a bit of a panic as we needed the car to get a kid off to college by month's end. Another shop referred me to Jason saying he might have the part as he had ordered a few a month earlier. Amazingly, he did have the part and held one for my car. Jason arranged for pictures for the insurance claim and was able to repair the car the next day. He really saved us. After living in Palo Alto for two years, we've finally found our go-to mechanic. Jason is kind, courteous, upfront, and not pushy. TD Auto really did us a solid by replacing our alternator the Saturday before Christmas, even staying late to finish the job after the store sent the wrong part. Our battery died and the AAA technician who replaced it ran a diagnostic test showing that the alternator was bad. He recommended we go to TD Auto and actually called Jason to let us know we were coming. Jason will show you the old part and is also careful to include the brand, part number, and warranty of the replacement part on the invoice. My husband often feels uncomfortable and taken advantage of when visiting mechanics, and Jason is the first mechanic he says he would trust dealing with on his own. We'll be back! read more

The owner Tom is an experienced mechanic. He worked on my Volvo S80 and 240 with regard to replacing heater core, brakes. His assistant Jason replaced wheel bearing, brakes, mounts. All works were done quite well. I went to my Volvo dealer, import specialists with my Volvo S80 oil leak problem but no one could figure out. When my 26 year old work van quite on 85 last month my regular mechanic said they don't work on cars that old anymore and suggested I give Jason a call. Jason said bring it on down and I had the van towed to TD Auto Repair. Later that afternoon I went to pick up the van and Jason said the van runs and that he didn't fix a thing and refused to accept any money for his time, well, I gave him a small token of appreciation anyways. I decided to give the van a tune up to make sure it wasn't any of those parts that could of been the original cause of the breakdown. Jason installed all the tune up parts and his price was very reasonable given how difficult it was to get at some of the spark plugs (what were those Ford engineers thinking?). This shop is not the pushy type so I don't worry about paying for things I don't really need. Jason is very personable and a pleasure to deal with. I normally do all my own auto repair but when I can't fix it I take it to Tom. He's amazing. He doesn't charge exorbitant prices either. The first time I took a car to him it was after the Ford dealer couldn't even figure out what was wrong with it(it was an intermittent problem).
