A couple of examples: - I had an old 4Runner that I was convinced needed new brake pads. I dropped it off at Hank's, they test drove, inspected, and told me the pads were totally fine. I asked how much I owed them, no charge. - My wife was buying a used car and she took it in to Hank's shop for an inspection. I had two tires with low pressure and I wasn't able to fill my tire at the Chevron. I called to see if they could help identify the problem. Hank told me I could come by right away and check. They filled up my tires and inspected the tire I suspect has a leak and couldn't find anything with the soapy water method, so they suggested going to their neighbors to check. They didn't charge me! The most honest and fair mechanics I have ever met. I have a 2006 BMW X5. Before coming here, my repairs hurt. Many times I've almost traded my car for a brand new one because of the cost of repairs. Until I met Tho and Hank. Not only they are highly technical, they are wonderful human being. Their prices are the most fair I have ever seen in the valley. And their goal is to help you get the most mileage out of your vehicle as possible. Here's a true story. My alternator was failing. I started seeing the battery indicator on my dashboard but it was coming and going. It went like that for a few days until the day I went to my dentist in Milpitas. Ok my way back on 237 I started seeing the battery indicator on again. I knew I had to exit on Mathilda to take my X5 to Hank. But I did not quite make it. I stopped at a construction site just after the 101 over pass on Mathilda. I called Tho and with in minutes he arrived with another colleague with a battery pack. He was able to drive my X5 to their shop and saved me a tow truck call. Best of all they did not leave me on the side of the road. They really care about their clients. Very very bad place! Today I brought my 2012 Hyundai Sonata in this place to replace steering wheel flexible coupler. They even did not disconnect the battery while doing the work. At the finish I found my gas tank cover and back truck cover could not be opened, they checked and replaced a fuse (which was blown bad by their unprofessional work) and the both covers seems to work. I then went into the car and found my right side passenger door and the rear passenger door locks do not function right anymore. But they blame that is the car itself not by their work just done and ask me to take my car to other places. I knew my car door locks were working normally before this, so I called police, police came and suggested I go to small claim court for my loss, and to post my review about this bad place here. A guy who said he is the owner said he worked on my steering wheel and did not work on my door, so this is not him who made the doors locks bad. How ridiculous this is, he did not disconnect the battery, all the doors locks were connected with electrical circuits, the fuse was blown by his shady work, so were the doors circuits could have had electrical shocks to become bad. I hope the car computers not got damaged but if so this will be big big trouble! They are just bunch of unprofessional cheap low people, do not know how to do things right, and mess up customers car and try to blame something else, I have to take my Sonata to the dealer for the fix and expect the much big cost there. Never never come to this place!!! read more

Coming in for help with a broken car and have absolutely no idea about cars. After checking my car, he suggested me to check my warranty to see if any part of it was covered. As he suggested, I brought my car to my original dealer. Even though some of the costs got covered under my warranty, the dealer projected an additional cost that I couldn't afford (after keeping my car there for a week). I decided to bring the car back to him and got it fixed within a day with a very reasonable price. I was thrilled and couldn't thank him enough. Hank Auto Repair was originally suggested to me many years ago by a friend who took her car there. He fixed a thermostat on my previous car for a very reasonable price and very quickly. It was a pleasant experience. So when my current car's clutch went out last December I contacted my car dealer for an estimate. It was very expensive and I could not afford it. Then I remembered Hank. Talked to Tho on the phone and was given an estimate for half the price of the dealer. He was very helpful and professional and got the parts needed for my car very quickly. They replaced my clutch in no time at all and it was ready early. Tho also gave me a discount on the cost of an oil change, which was much appreciated. Over two years later. Whenever I pull out of parking spot after I first get in my car, the brakes squeal insanely loudly and shrilly. People stop and stare or flinch and cover their ears. Finally took my car to the Mazda dealership. They say I don't need anything replaced. Pads and rotors are fine. Then why the screeching? Maybe it was the after market parts Hank used. Guess I'm just stuck with this until the pads and rotors eventually wear down enough that they need to be replaced again. I know when that happens I'll be going to Mazda and getting OEM parts. I found him through my friend who had been taking her Prius to him for several years. When I got the Prius from her this year, she told me of her good experience there and suggested that I take the Prius there for the oil and filter change it needed. I gave him a call, told him the type of car, he provided me with a reasonable quote.
