I wasn't too big of a fan but that could just be personal preference since I'm used to it being a puree. Toppings are not included and boba for $1.00 is pretty pricey. They asked if I wanted to change the milk option and I opted for oat milk. They didn't tell me it was $1.00 extra to substitute milk either. Had I known, I wouldn't have gotten it. My bf and I went to the Vacaville outlets after a long time and found this cute boba shop in the area. The interior was nice and clean, though the location is more prioritized on takeout and catering. The bobarista was very friendly and helped guide us through the menu and answer our questions. We ended up getting two drinks - the black milk tea and the matcha latte. The black milk tea felt very standard and classic. It was exactly what you expect - in a nice, familiar sense. The tea flavor came through and was perfect for us at half sweet. We added boba, which had the right texture but wish it was a tad bit sweeter like other honey boba I've had in the past. Can't complain ! The matcha latte came in a sizeable 24 oz jar. While the drink wasn't as creamy as I expected, the matcha flavor really comes through. Quality matcha that was vegetal and quite bitter. I got it at 50% sugar and liked it, but would not suggest going lower. I think regular or 75 is ideal for most. TL;DR The first batch of drinks were way too sweet. The second batch came bland. No hard feelings, just unfortunately disappointed. This milk tea place is situated in the corner of the Vacaville Outlet plaza. I came here to see if this was a good milk tea place to go to. It's a small shop; no seating. There's a nice selection of drinks and specialty drinks to choose. The big bottle drinks are only for specialty drinks. The other selections come in the regular cups. I ordered a Dirty Matcha Latte and a Matcha smoothie. The Dirty Matcha Latte I ordered at 75% sweetness and with egg pudding. The Matcha smoothie came at 50%. When the drinks were made, they came extra sweet. The Dirty Matcha Latte tasted more like 125% sweetness. And the same goes for the Matcha smoothie that tasted like 100%. I went back to let the staff know that the drinks were too sweet. They happily told us to keep the ones they mistakenly made and will make new ones. Unfortunately, the second batch came too bland and had the matcha powder in chunks. I had hopes that even after the new ones it would be a good place to go. However, I left disappointed. I ordered the Red Catnip (which is "Premium Red Thai Tea with Milk") with boba, and the Curry Cutlet Pork Chop Rice. The Red Catnip was good Thai tea; just the right sweetness that I like; not watered down. The boba was soft, chewy, and good. Not disappointed at all! I also thought it was cool that it came in a plastic jar/mason with their logo on it! It's definitely reusable and it's a great way to get their name out there! The Curry Cutlet Pork Chop Rice was good overall! The pork chop had a nice, crisp batter on outside, and the pork itself was not dry nor overcooked. The curry sauce/gravy was good; it's like the Japanese curry. The rice was good - not over cooked nor undercooked. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the shredded cabbage. I told her not to worry that's what I want. I paid a whopping $7.82 for it. I was disappointed in what I got. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and was already on the road when I took my first sip. Other part of me was hoping I just didn't mix it well and that it would get better. As the minutes ticked and I continued drinking it, I was just continuously met with sadness. I wanted the a strong matcha taste with a hint of strawberry sweetness all melted together with milky goodness. What I got was a bland green colored milk with strawberry bits on the bottom, some of which wasn't really chopped up fine enough to fit in the provided boba straw. I could only taste a hint of the earthiness of matcha. If this was extra matcha, I feel like standard matcha would taste even more bland. Maybe matcha isn't their strong suit, if I chose to go back I'd probably try something else. read more

Ah yes, another boba shop has established themselves in Vacaville. Tea dojo is located on the quieter side of the Outlets. Honestly, thank goodness it's not on the busier side because parking would be a bit challenging on the weekends! Dojo is right next to West Elm and there's plenty of parking over there. Their menu is quite simple with about 10 drinks and they have a few snacks to choose from. I've been here 3x in a span of 3 weeks. I was intrigued by their flavaflavs. Catnip thai latte? Meojito?? Citrus Thai Green??? Such unique. A few of their drinks come in a reusable cup with a metal lid and others come in a standard durable plastic cup. I initially tried their Catnip thai latte, mainly due to the name. Is there really catnip in there? Nah. It did have a unique milky tea flavor with a splash of floral. It was nothing like I've tried before. A week later I tried the oolong latte with plant-based milk. I wasn't a fan of it, it had a weird after taste, which maybe was due to the plant-based milk they used. It overpowered the flavor of the oolong...well honestly, I didnt taste any oolong at all. The week after I went with one of their top 3 drinks, the dojo-o. It was orange refresher tea with a splash of rosemary. The tea was very noticeable and there was muddled oranges at the bottom of the cup, with 2 orange slices on the sides. It was so refreshing, flavorful and delicious. It was a memorable drink. From best to blah: Dojo-o, Catnip Thai latte, Oolong latte. The prices are decent for Vacaville. The drinks range from 5.25 to 6.25 and they have one size for each drink. The Dojo-o and Catnip came in the clear bottle and it held quite a lot of liquid. Toppings were quite expensive at about .75 to $1. The boba balls were $1! That's more expensive than places in SF! Anyways, I was feelin' like a baller and added boba to my catnip and oolong latte. The boba consistency was good and bouncy. I believe they are no options to adjust sweetness and ice level. And it's apparent they a drink cannot be remade or changed if you don't fancy your drink, which is a weird rule. I feel like most places will remake a drink if you're not satisfied. The layout of the shop is quite tight and small. They have one table inside that makes the walkway narrow so only one person can pass through to order at the counter at a time. They have outdoor seating and tables as well as a pick up window next to the soda machines. Overall, good boba spot in Vacaville. The menu is different from other boba shops. I'd like to try the mango matcha and the citrus thai green next. If I don't get tired of their dojo-o, which I highly recommend if you like fruit teas. Uggh, I want one now... Anyways, try them out after you shop 'til you drop at the outlets. read more

I ordered the Meojito and my boyfriend ordered the Green Catnip Latte. We also got the Dojo Chicken. My boyfriend enjoyed his drink but mine was so-so. My Meojito had somewhat flat carbonated water with lychee, lime, etc. I asked for 50% sugar but it was still too sweet. The portion size for the dojo chicken seemed small and in my opinion not worth the price. It was about $7.50 for the chicken. I got the green thai tea which is more floral than the red and hard to come by. Both drinks were great and the portions were pretty big. Went to the outlets to check out some furniture at West Elm and ended up grabbing some boba and popcorn chicken to-go from this small boba shop next door!
