Great, great, great, cafe. The bubble tea is fantastic, and the food--wow. It's so refreshing to walk into an establishment and know that the staff cares not only about you, but about the quality of your food. The teas, coffees, and bubble teas are almost endless in variety, as are the dumplings and spring rolls to go with them, if you're hungry. I was, and came away very satisfied. The bubble tea takes just a minute or two to prepare, and the food was well worth the wait. If you're in a hurry though, call ahead--they don't kid around when they say "fresh". Dumplings are not put together until you order them (which makes for some of the best dumplings I've ever had). Otherwise, expect a 10 to 15 minute wait. Again, well worth it, and will probably be shortened as staff is added in the fall (summer around UB is a very slow season to start a new venue). All in all, this is a great place to stop on your way to campus for some bubble tea, or after a movie next door at the AMC on Maple Ridge (did I mention that they're open til 11 pm! The Bubble tea is great, most of the time the desserts are fresh but sometimes they taste old. I would say 2-2 tasted fresh. And the location is great but the the couches are beat and tables are dirty a lot of the time. They are making good enough money they need a upgrade! And also to focus on getting staff out on the floor cleaning the tables and chairs. They are really nice and efficient. read more

Sometimes the bubble tea smoothie is good, sometimes it isn't. The tea is usually strong and the Tampico pearls are dense. I don't know what changed throughout the years, but tea leaf was definitely better a few years ago. read more

Best bubble tea cafe in Western NY. They've had a long tenure in the WNY area and were sorely missed when they left. Upon returning, they picked out a great spot for everyone to drop in and kick back and filled the demand that was much needed in the area. Everyone who's anybody in BUF knows Tea Leaf and it makes for a great alternative to the no-campus Starbucks for a quick 2pm pick-me-up for worker bees. Everything I've tried here has been delicious! Love their honeydew bubble tea smoothies and their Thai iced tea. The spring rolls are tasty and I love the sauce that goes with them. I got the bubble tea and it was delish! You can substitute to different milks and you even pick green or black tea. We also got the popcorn chicken and another small plate that was pretty good. I would really recommend coming here. Nice atmosphere as well. read more

Best place for bubble tea, yet they have virtually no competition in the area. I go here a lot and while I LOVE the bubble tea, service is very unfriendly. They are always very eager to kick you out at 10pm on the dot and will blare "closing time" over the speakers. I almost think they believe they can be rude because they know they have no one who competes with them as a business. read more

This place is the most consistent Bubble Tea place I go to. I love the location, and all the different options. I've loved every flavor I've tried so far, except for the Lavender. To be fair I only went here once but it was so disappointing we will not be going back. The tea was watered down and lacked that creaminess that makes milk tea so great, plus the tapioca balls were hard on the inside. Besides the average bubble tea, everything is below average here. I ordered their vietnamese pho and was deeply disappointed. They did not provide bean sprouts and lime until I requested for them. And, they ran out of basil. Stay away from the pho. Their scallion pancakes are disgusting to say the least.They have a good collection of teas but in my experience, people who work at the counter have zero knowledge about the teas they carry. So, you have no way of deciding which one to get because the "flavors" are not on the menu. The ambience is quite nice, and is easy to sit down and study. The quality of the service went down considerably. The lack of good service, and the care-not attitude of the employees is a big reason for me to think twice before going back. If you go there for bubble tea, get it to go. read more

I decided to give tea leaf another try this time I ordered the original milk tea it was awesome! The staff members were definitely nicer than last time which was a huge plus. The best one was the guy that was working on the register asked if i needed a carrier, which i said yes. When i picked up my order to my surprise they put bith my drinks in the traveler and even tied it in a bag! That was a really sweet gesture. Delighted to see that they've made changes. JESUS, have you ever tasted something so disgusting in your life?! The prices are ridiculous for what they serve. This place tastes nothing like tea first off, and the bubbles are disgusting. It's a hipster hangout for sure. It's a cool place and has a really cool idea. I've been there multiple times and the major problem I find is ordering, if you're a first timer all I can say is good luck! The menu is actually pretty confusing, it's split up into 3-5 menu boards one of which is on the wall next to the cash register (super incovenant and you don't notice it unless you know it's there). Also they have a couple different teas and only certain ones can have bubbles or can be mix with other teas. The staff is really bad at helping customers order if there is confusion and they don't tell you your options if you ask. Having said all of that the tea itself is really good (if you manage to get past the ordering process). You can mix at least 2 different types of teas as long as they are in the same category of tea so your tastebuds won't get bored! The food is pretty good too! I had dumplings there and the only con is they took a lot longer than we were initially told. read more

I tried this place three times now because of the high reviews and I keep thinking, maybe it's their bad day... First of all, they don't have Jasmine Green Milk tea, which is a classic basic green milk tea that every other bubble tea place across the states carries.... Weird. First time I tried Thai iced tea with bubbles. Thai iced tea was quite sweet...but still drinkable....but the bubbles were the worst I've tasted... It was hard inside and mushy outside....which means its been chilled then sat outside for over 6 hrs. Gross. Second time, I tried taro tea with no extra sugar requested(since it was too sweet last time) with bubbles. Bubbles were much better! So I guess first time was a bad day.... Taro tea tasted too watered down though. It wasn't tasty but drinkable. Third time, I asked for a recommendation. The server said taro, coconut. I asked for a less sweetened version since I don't like it too sweet. The server said no problem! But when I tasted the tea, it was literally the sweetest thing I've ever tasted. It was literally drinking taro/coconut flavored liquid fructose syrup. And to add to my disappointment, the bubble had the same consistency as my first visit. Hard inside, mushy pasty outside....no soft chewy texture you look for in a good boba. I'll prob never go back again. Three times and you're out in my book! read more

This place is pretty good. First of all, the staff cares about your experience, they are eager to hear what you think of the food and beverages. It's obvious they care about what they serve you. I'm not new to bubble tea being from nyc, and this cafe does it right, what a lot of people don't know is that you can customize pretty much any drink to your liking from the amount of tapiocas, the sweetness, to any number of flavor combinations. It's a lot of fun to try out different combos. Overall, the food is excellent. And they open til 1am on the weekends! Big help when you want get away from campus to study. read more
