The Tea Room was quaint and very cozy. When you walk in there are about 3 different rooms where you can be sat to eat in, the room we were in was adorable. Every table had different tea sets, plates, cups and even chairs. It was very vintage and old fashioned looking. Our waitress was really nice, and the food was delicious! I had the mango peach tea, cold, and I'm not too crazy about tea but it was good and I would definitely get it again. There were even hats and boas to try on for fun on our way out of the room, so we definitely took that to our advantage! I definitely plan on returning and trying some more tea and food off the menu. I recommend this place if you the looking for a relaxing afternoon and looming to try something simple and different. read more

Went to the Tea Room at Cauley Square yesterday and nothing has changed. The food has always been incredible. Last time I was there was back in March. This time we had a new server name Bruno. OMG he totally went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the nice breeze. My wife and I have been coming to the Tea Room since early 2000. The food has always been spectacular and the service as well. It's a little South Dade gem hidden inside Cauley Square. Go visit you'd be happy you did. read more

Hadn't been to the tea room (or Cauley square for that matter) since I was a little girl with my mom. I recently just moved back to the area, was honestly missing my mom and wanted to feel connected to her so I came here. We came in pretty close to closing but the waitress was really sweet and eager to help us. As we sat there we saw many, I assume, regulars come in and she knew them all by name and knew their orders before hand. I really love places like that. Their hand painted tea pots and little trinkets are beautiful and honestly there just aren't places like this in Miami anymore. The whole cauley square in a gem and now that I'm living in the area again I'll definitely be a regular. I'm so happy my first experience back didn't disappoint. I came here with my parents and we opted for the high tea option. As far as food and tea goes, I loved this place. Especially for the value compared to other high tea offerings. The reason I give it 3 stars is because I found it to be disorganized with the staff. The hostess was doing various different jobs and this caused things to be held up. Secondly, I think they should have a dress code in place for both the staff and the guests. Staff had no consistency in uniforms and guests showed up in crocs, workout clothes, etc. As a whole, it was a messy feel. They could also benefit from a curtain or something blocking off the kitchen to make it less chaotic inside. For afternoon tea, I found all this a bit disturbing to the atmosphere and expected a more elegant experience. The interior also felt a bit run down and dirty/dusty so we opted to sit outside. The garden needs work and some soft background music could come into play well here. Staff was very accommodating though and the actual food & tea was nice. I'd come back here, I just think some updates would do the place some good. read more

What a wonderful experience! Historic and charming Cauley Square is a quaint old-timey block just off an ugly part of South Miami. Among the four or five old houses that sits on this quaint block is the Tea Room, with plenty of street parking available. We had high tea for two, fixed price pp, which was a 3 tiered tower with PLENTY of food for two! They had a great selection of tea, and each person gets their own pot! I love the Nova Scotia platter and my husband gets the 3 egg omelette with sausage and their potatoes. He asks for them thin and crispy they come out like chips! So good. I loved this place and have been here repeatedly but their lack of accommodation is hard to tolerate, especially for their prices. I paid nearly $70 for lunch yesterday (with tip - the bill was $56.71) and it kind of felt like a rip-off instead of a unique experience. First off, the place is really special - all of cauley square is. So I like to go down there for a fun break of reality - and it feels like this restaurant is really loosing their touch of reality as well. We had a reservation and pre-ordered meal, yet it took AN ENTIRE HOUR after we arrived to get our afternoon/high tea lunch. I was billed $25 for Afternoon Tea (not $24 which is advertised on their website), and $28 for the High Tea. Now here's where it gets interesting. The High Tea was provided 4 half sandwiches plus soup and desserts and the Afternoon Tea was provided 4 quarter sandwiches, a boiled egg and desserts. How do they justify providing a soup and an entire sandwich more for just $3 yet a sandwich and dessert costs $25? It's inexplicable. Why can't the person spending TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS for sandwich and dessert get 4 half sandwiches? Seriously - especially when they are ALL cucumber sandwiches!!!! The Afternoon Tea was also served with a tiny pot of tea. Perhaps 2 1/2 tea cups (keep in mind the tea cups hold about 5 ounces of liquid). I was never offered more hot water or another pot (in spite of paying $25 for this), and 40 minutes after we arrived and received no food, I had to ask if she could provide us water - none was provided. Eventually the waitress realized the complete neglect befalled of our table and offered us a free soup while we continued to wait - but they ran out of the good soup and we were left with lentil. Don't get me wrong - this place makes great everything (if you like all food and don't have food allergies) but I just don't like lentil. I have a growingly popular allergy called an allicen allergy. So in addition to their all out refusal of accommodating this by making some of their food without onions (they insist on adding onions to the majority of sandwiches and ALL of their soups), when they offer something less like the Afternoon Tea to accommodate an allergy - it felt like a complete rip off where we received less than half the food for a $3 savings on a massive lunch bill. I think at one point I had left a 5 star review for this tea room because I really loved this place - but these recent experiences (my birthday here wasn't much better) have really felt "special" in the wrong type of way :( read more

My hubby had been asking me to take him to a "romantic" restaurant and I chose this one! He was very happy with it! Place is very nicely decorated with antique furniture and items. They have several separate rooms so it's a great place to host parties. We had a groupon that was for lunch for 2. We had the french onion soup which we were told if made freshly each day! It was delicious!!! We had mimosas, different finger sanwiches some made of cream cheese and salmon, egg salad, cucomber, ham and cheese, grilled veggies, we had muffins and scones. They had a good selection of teas but could add more and some home brewed ones to their list. All was very good! We were very lucky that besides having a great meal we had great service by Noelia! Hello , first of all I made this place my day off destination and I really enjoy the food specially the soups I love the chicken tortilla soup and my hubby loves the onion soup . We also love the samosas or curry puffs which are great and the teas are so good I come here every week and I love my waitress Noelia , she rocks :) . I love the Mimi burgers as well. Go for the Spiced tea ... maybe dessert ... avoid the food. Wow, we went as a group of 13 on a Sunday afternoon. We were sitting for almost a half hour after we ordered our food and still had not received our food. We had to ask for bread or rolls, and then our food come out (we all ordered cold food, except for some ordered soup). One person ordered a turkey sandwich, but her "turkey" was pink ... and smelled like ham. I ordered a wrap with no tomatoes and cole slaw. My wrap had tomatoes. The waitress offered to take it back, but I just pulled them out of the wrap. But they came with french fries, instead of cole slaw. She apologized and said she would being me some slaw. The fries were under cooked. When she finally brought the cole slaw, it tasted buttery. We think it was actually potato salad and not cole slaw. Either way it was nasty. And for a "tea room", someone ordered tea, and she brought out tea box full or bags I could have bought at Publix. You think a Tea Room would brew their own tea. The Spiced Tea, which they claim is their own special blend, was the best thing on the menu. so go for the Spiced Tea, or maybe the dessert, but skip the main course. read more

Cauley Square Tea Room. Talk about having a "WTF moment". I was driving way down south on Dixie Hwy on Saturday afternoon. I spot Cauley Square and I should out "WTF"! A little whimsical village suddenly appears between the fields of nothing and strip malls along the busy road. I cut a hard right turn and I'm transported into another dimension. Large skyscraper trees shade the entire area and white twinkle lights are strung from branch to branch. I see art galleries, quaint shops and a jazz band setting up off in the distance for an upcoming wedding. I spot the tea room and I squeal with delight. I call up a friend and we meet for lunch. The inside of the tea room is as cute as could be - lots of antique furniture and vintage photos line the walls. Waitresses scurry about with fancy glass pitchers pouring lemonade. Giggles from a bridal shower emerge from one of the many dining rooms. The menu is fairly simple - quiche, salads, burgers, finger sandwiches, wraps. Instead of choosing one sandwich, I decided to go with the finger sandwich sampler which includes tuna, egg salad, chicken salad and roasted zucchini mini sandwiches. My all time favorite French onion soup accompanies my dish. The soup is standard rich broth with a piece of baguette floating under a thick layer of baked cheese -YUM. My friend orders the burger and seems pleased. Overall the food is good, but I would love to see some more adventurous options instead of the traditional lunch options. Unfortunately due to the bridal shower the service was very slow. Our servers were very nice and apologetic, but they seemed understaffed and a bit overwhelmed. Not the end of the world. Next time I find myself in this neck of the woods, I'll be sure to stop in again and try the quiche and shop for some art in the square. I'll bring my fancy British high tea hat! read more

Lovely ambiance, nice warm tea, not too expensive but not the price of a chipotle bowl or McDonald's but you're reallly paying for the whole experience here. Def try the chicken tender wrap!! Love this. Absolutely loved this. Adorable little tea room in the Cauley Square village of Homestead. Very historic feel to the place. The food was very good (they don't serve you a tremendous amount, but it's enough to satisfy you), they have a spiced house tea (you can enjoy it hot or iced) which is to DIE for, and once you're done with your meal, you can walk over to the dessert table and see if there's anything you'd like (I had bread pudding and enjoyed it very much). The staff are very welcoming and gracious, adding to the old school feel of the place. They also have really lovely and relaxing piano music playing as you enjoy your meal. Can't wait to go back again and hopefully have a chance to visit the other businesses (other cafes and cute little shops) in Cauley Square. read more

Went to Cauley square tea room on one of the coldest and rainy day of Miami. That might have been my first mistake but I figured a tea room would help warm me and contain my hunger. I ordered coffee ( I know, I know coffee in a tea room but I needed my fix and the tea selection just wasn't cutting it). So my friend had tea and the selection was minimal but I guess I shouldn't be expecting a Teavanna. For some eats, we both ordered the French onion soup with finger sandwiches. The soup was pretty good but the finger sandwiches I just couldn't finish. There was an egg salad sand which, banana bread w creme, and some other varieties w the soup. Overall the tea room was an ok outing but next time I'll go for a different dish. Btw, the overall decor reminded me of those haunted houses w porcelain dolls and plates all around. Guess it's old Florida?? read more
