Not impressed with the food here. A waste of money! Cayley square is nice but this restaurant disappoints.

I had my first experience in a tea room here and I loved it. I love the old items and how it feels (old-haha). The eggs benedict was nice and the tea I got was fabulous! The description was pineapple, coconut, cream flavors. Best tea Ive ever had and Im not a big tea drinker! The area across the street has great photo opportunities too! I had a delicious lunch here today. The place doesn't look like a great restaurant from the outside. Inside it is decorated tip to toe in Victorian patterns and artifacts. The food was really well prepared and very fresh. The French fries were one of the best I ever had. The piece of chocolate cake I ordered was very fudgy, really big piece, and came with a side of whipped cream. I would have given this Tea House five stars if there were more than two kinds of tea available. Nevertheless , I recommend this place for lunch because the food was great and the menu had a good mixture of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian selections. I love this place. I found it through groupon with their tea party for two special which is a lot of fun. My boyfriend and Mom have liked the setting, atmosphere and food. Cauley Square is a nice place for it to be because it feels quaint. It's always very quiet, the dishes are cute. I've seen some people don't like that the dishes don't all much but I think it's cute and quirky. If you go try the French Onion Soup, it's the BEST I've ever had. All in all, it's a nice little restaurant that I highly recommend. read more

I've been to this place any times over the years. I went on Saturday with my sister and was so disappointed in the food and the service. We were told by our waitress that another company had bought them out and that's why their menu had changed some. For some reason offering a hamburger in a tea room just doesn't seem right! We ordered a chicken salad croissant . I think they made one sandwich, cut it in half and put half on each of our plates. The service was so slow that when it came time for us to get our check, I actually got up to go searching for our waitress. And the place wasn't even busy. I've never had such attentive service at another restaurant all the girls kept checking on us making sure we had everything we needed my server Julie was so informative there under new management and it is the best it's ever been I came in a few years ago and it was mediocre but the staff wowed me on Mother's Day it was a packed house and the service was still amazing I have to say over all including the delicious beautifully presented food my whole experience was everything i dreamed off for my Mother's Day! Worst experience ever.....we had a reservation for a party of 4 at 12pm we finally got a table at 1:15pm. The waitress then told us that they were busy in the kitchen and the wait would be an extra 30-40min for the food...at one point we had to wait to have fresh water because there was no clean glasses left....my mom who is diabetic fainted because we had to wait so long to get something to eat. We Couldn't even speak to a manager/owner because they were cooking in the kitchen and probably had no clue of what was going on. Half of the tables were empty, there were not picking up the tables and were not sitting people. There were dirty plates everywhere... the waitress did a great job in this chaos....only three servers for 6 rooms and over 100 reservations plus walk-ins...we will never go back there read more

It's a neat little place.... if you are in a hurry to go somewhere I don't recommend eating here at least not breakfast we arrived at 1030am drinks were served at 11am.. food order was taken at 1115am and we got our food at 1230pm and 3ppl in our party of 12 had to wait another 30min for there food... not sure where the ball was dropped... and why manager or Owner didn't come out to appoligize for the delay.. also toilet water was coming out from under the toilet when you flush it... First off, I called to make a reservation and after some questions the person on the phone tells me they'd be short staffed as an excuse, which I thought should be irrelevant to them serving me. The French onion soup was really good but the sandwiches and quiches could have been better. They put too much black tea leaves which after the first cup tasted super oversteeped and I had to hunt for someone to fill it with more water. But the biggest disappointment was the lack of clotted/fresh cream for their delicious scones. They give you a tart fruit yogurt thing for them. Was really looking forward to that :( read more

Very charming place that will probably remind you of your grandma's house. Adorable themed rooms make for a very quiet atmosphere that is perfect for conversation. Our waiter didn't know the menu or what a cappuccino was but she said she was new so perhaps that's not typical. The food was good and it was very fun to sip tea from fancy tea cups in such an appropriate setting. The area around the restaurant is also very interesting so plan on walking around a bit. read more

My husband and I went to Cauley Square for this Easter. We didn't know what to expect but it was so nice! They organized an egg hunt by ages. They had face painted, poney rides, music, food truck and little market. The place is so cute it was worth the drive. We ate at one of the restaurant by the kids playground and the service was not fantastic but it was ok, the food was good enough and the price was fair, it worked! I recommend the place. read more

I had previously visited the Tea Room several years ago with a group of friends and was hoping the experience would live up to my previous visit. When I think of a Tea Room, I think of some charming ladies waiting on customers making you feel special. The wait staff did not speak very good English and was not very knowledgeable about what was on the menu. One of our guests ordered the finger sandwiches which is usually a staple at Teas but there was no banana bread as listed; they were offering pound cake instead. It was early in the day so running out of the banana bread was not the case; you would think they would have enough on hand or remove it from the menu. The Tea Room is charming but attention to detail is lacking. There was a dirty linen napkin on the floor by my seat and it looked like it had been there for quite some time. Also, the rugs needed a good vaccuming. There was nice music playing in the background but there was also an irritating noise which we later discovered was the bathroom door squeaking loudly. That can easily be corrected. The Tea Room could be quite charming again but some of these things need to be addressed so others will have a positive dining experience. read more

I brought my girlfriend here, as I remembered it as quaint with good food and service. It's still quaint, but that's all that's the same. We had a simple order; coffee, tea and ambrosia. The teapot contained lukewarm water. As my girlfriend later said "how can you mess up hot water?". By not heating it sufficiently. The coffee was also lukewarm, frankly just this side of cold. My girlfriend takes her tea with milk. Our server said they didn't have any. Really? A restaurant that had NO milk? I find that hard to believe. The ambrosia was "marshmallow soup", again in the words of my girlfriend. At close to $11, you'd think they'd at least make an effort. I don't know what happened to this place, but save your money. There are so many better places in Miami that deserve your business. The food is unacceptable, the prices are out of line for such poor quality, and the service was lackluster at best. What a shame. So far, the food and service has been acceptable, however I did have one bad visit where my own table and another table of customers had to wait an hour for our food after ordering, and that is not an exaggeration. My wife and I stopped for lunch recently and got a couple of sandwiches which were pretty good. The place was very well set out with white table cloths and napkins. It's a very nice location under large trees. The wait person was very attentive and professional. We were the only ones there at 12:30 on a Friday. What a disappointing experience! Wait staff was rude and didn't speak English. This place must have changed owners as it USED to be wonderful. Table linens were dirty, food was served incorrectly, and they were out of everything - including thousand island dressing and sour krout for the turkey rueben sandwiches they charge $10.95 for! They were out of chicken nuggets that my 8 yr old niece wanted and told us after a full 1/2 hour they could substitute them with ambrosia and french fries! They charged $10 for this! Potato salad was not right either. Spoiled? Not sure, but not edible. Bathroom was dirty, with the roll of toilet paper on the floor and no soap in the soap dispenser! Desserts were Sara Lee quality. To make matters worse both the Turkey Reuben and BLT were served with one slice of meat on each sandwich. But wait! There is more. It was my mom's birthday so we had to at least get a slice of chocolate cake for her so we went to the dessert table and saw a fly buzzing around inside the cake dome with the cake. DO NOT EAT ANYTHING HERE!!! I will be reporting this place to the Health Department on Monday. The ONLY good thing here is the decor and music. LOOK but DO NOT EAT ANYTHING HERE!!! I wanted this place to be a hidden gem, we first walked in and were sat down immediately. Our drink order was taken, and brought quickly, as we sat there sipping our drinks ants started crawling all over the table, we asked to move, the new table did not have ants. Next we placed our food order, my husband asked if the chicken salad special had nuts, the waitress didn't know so my husband said "if it has nuts I will order something else", she came back to the table and said there were no buts so he ordered it, I ordered the French onion soup. Our food came, the soup was good, a little oily but but good flavor and a very nice helping of cheese which I love! My husbands sandwich however had nuts in the chicken salad, I am happy he just doesn't like nuts and that he doesn't have an allergic reaction, the waitress could have killed someone by being lazy in knowing or at least asking the chef what the ingredients are, I gave this place only 1 star since our first table had ants all over it and also because of the lack of service I felt we got while placing our order. read more

Made a reservation weeks ago for 2pm tea for Mother's Day. When we arrived we were told by one hostess 1/2 hour and then a second an hour. We were told they were waiting for a large party to leave and they would be cleaning tables shortly. We waited and shortly learned that the LARGE PARTY were just getting their soup. After waiting an hour and half I went to speak to a manager and none appeared. Overheard another party had been waiting for 2 and 1/2 hours! We decided to leave. I went on Mother Day May 14, 2017 and I had a 12:00 pm appointment for which I arrived at 11:30 and was told that I would have to wait from 20 minutes to Half an hour after my reserved time to be seated which would be 12:30. I was not seated until 1:00pm. The girl at the front doing the reservations had no idea what she was doing!! We were 4 people and they wanted to sat us in two tables of 2 and we said NO. Once seated we were told by the server that the food was going to take about 40 minutes to an hour because there were a lot of people!!!!!!! some of the food on the Mothers Day menu was no longer available!! We later found out that the manager was cooking in the Kitchen and they only had 3 servers working. they had 100 reservations and were also taking WALK-INS!!! Obviously the owner in Money Hungry and they do not care pleasing their customers on such a special DAY!!!!! Everyone was complaining!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!! the owner should rethink his strategy and get organized!! read more
