Our first experience was my husband and I out for a day of antiquing we enjoyed our afternoon stop off at this lovely tea shop. We were so pleased with the friendly way the owners treated us. The whole family were so nice I felt like I was one of the family. The following visit was with me, my daughter and my grandaughter. We had a wonderful time and we all left feeling like important ladies. One complaint I have is the entry steps they need to put railings up for older short people like me. We has reservation for 14, when we got there they had a table set for 12 and it would have been impossible for 12 to sit at it. I had to ask to be moved they then sat us at two tables pushed together again placing 2 chairs at each end no way could people sit like this comfortably. I requested another table to be added and the worst part was the place only had 1 other table occupied. No body else was put in the room the whole time we were there, So why weren't we given enough space from the start. The food was good. Tea and sandwiches were really good, some of the desserts were dry and seemed old. We did get a lot of food with the afternoon tea. When making reservation I gave a $50.00 deposit that wasn't taken off the bill and when asked about it. Tracey was on the phone making another reservation and I was told to wait. My daughters and I go here for a little mother daughter bonding time. It's in the heart of the antiquing part of Seymour. It's the cutest little place with all the girly frills we love Pretty tea cups and plates The variety of teas is mind boggling. I choose a different flavor everytime. I love the sugar cubes and of course ad like 5 in my little cup. Can't have too sweet Their scones and crumpets are so yummy with their clotted cream What's clotted cream? Sounds kinda gross right? It's actually a product of England that is like a butter but tastes like a whipped cream without a lot of sugar It's surprisingly amazing. Have to get for your scones for sure. Their omelettes are so perfect. And their egg salad sandwiches are to die for. I'm only giving 4 stars because I think their dinners are a little too pricey. The portions aren't too big. I bought a Groupon last year. My friends and I were so excited to go and have tea. We got there and the server was not knowledgeable about the tea. Everything was brought at once and we were sat near the kitchen although we had made reservations. Months later I read on their facebook page how overwhelmed they were with Groupons. Yesterday, I notice they have another out. Boggles my mind. I hope they treat others who bring Groupons different than we were treated. This prompted my friends and I to have our own tea party. We stopped into Tea with Tracy on a rainy Friday. The atmosphere was wonderful and bright. Our server seemed overwhelmed and was not exactly rude nor was she nice(I think she is one of the owners daughters). The tea was good, but the tea sandwiches were mediocre and the scones were dense, rubbery and inedible--even for an Australian scone. We literally could not eat them. The Swedish brownies were quite tasty. Overall, for the price this was so not worth it. We will not return to this establishment. read more

Charming place! The food is tasty, the tea selection is plentiful. The place was very busy so that shows how good and popular it is. The waitstaff is good. We have heard wonderful things about Tea with Tracy and were very excited to go! We were seated quickly, but unfortunately, we waited 45 minutes (45!!!!!) until the waitress came over. Frankly, that is unacceptable. She did apologize, but then we felt ignored for the remainder of our lunch. My suggestion is to get more servers!! Additionally, after placing our order, the waitress forgot the tea! We did not receive the tea for another half an hour. The food was good and the atmosphere was okay. The seating is a little bit uncomfortable, due to the close proximity to other guests and old chairs. read more

Cute place but needs some improvement. Food was excellent however a little over priced. Awesome grilled cheese! Awesome bread pudding! Scones ok. Reason for the 3 stars: Many of our tea cups/creamer had chips in them and stains in the cups. Given that this is a tea room I would expect no chips in the tea cups. There were plenty of servers with poor service and not even a lot of customers. Our saving grace was Justin who came over to our table to see if we needed anything as he saw we were sitting there for awhile unattended. Soup was very tasty but served luke warm. Because the service was so slow, the pot of tea was cold by the time the food arrived. This place needs tea cozies!!! Tea was an excellent flavor. I tried Tea with Tracy because of the Groupon. My friend and I loved the ambiance and the great selection of teas and baked goods. I would have liked a few more options for sandwiches - I hope they expand the menu a bit as time goes on. We also loved the little boutique across the street - a perfect girls day out! My mother also attended a scone baking class and tea tasting at Tea with Tracy and had very positive things to say about that as well. read more

When we walked into the entirely empty restaurant, we were greeted not with "welcome!" or even "hello", but rather with the off-putting words "Do you have reservations?" Again, the restaurant was empty. If they wanted us to think they were busy, it didn't work. We stayed anyway, and were seated next to the service counter, not in the dining room. The dining room remained empty throughout lunch. The retail section eventually filled a few tables. None of the customers wanted to sit in there, but the staff refused to put anybody in the dining room, which was still empty when we left. I guess the staff wouldn't bother to walk that far. The food is overpriced and not good. The clotted cream was served in stingy little jars, 1 per order, for too much $$ The tea is made with tea bags, not loose tea, which is inexcusable in a tea shop. They don't even warm the teapots, so the tea is lukewarm when you do get it. And it came with 2 teabags hanging out of it. The overpriced desserts had obviously been purchased at Cosco, and were terrible. The scones were awful. I don't know where those came from, but I doubt they make their own. This is not an English style tea shop. The staff is unwelcoming, unfriendly, and inexperienced or indifferent. I'm not sure which. The food is expensive and bad, even if it does come on a fancy tray. Cold tea, served in the retail section of the restaurant instead of the dining room, with grocery store cookies purchased in bulk. I will not be back. read more

Maybe because we went on Mother's Day and they really weren't prepared for the crowd, we had just an "OK" experience. The meal took forever to be served, the food was just ok. They had ONE children's meal choice (on Mother's Day!!). We had a 6:30 reservation and didn't walk out the door until 9pm. The food was mediocre. What a special place this is!! We had the Afternoon Tea for 4 which included a scone, pot of tea, choice of tea sandwich and dessert. Reservations are suggested. The restaurant is cozy bearing mismatched china with a shabby chic vibe. The scones were tasty and our chicken salad tea sandwiches were delicious. There are alternative tea sandwiched for kids such as Nutella and Fluff and Peanut Butter and Jelly. Our personal pot of teas were enjoyed and the apple torte and banana bread were tasty. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. 2 hour parking on the street. Very cool stores around Tea with Tracy, so it makes for a great afternoon of tea and shopping. read more

This was a mixed feelings review. First off, we had a party of six for 12:00. We're seated right away due to the fact that we made reservations. Very pleasant waitress. We had two in the party that arrived 10 and 15 minutes late! waitress very good about waiting for all. She gave ample amount of time to order. We all placed our order about 10 minutes later which we were happy about because being ladies we like to chat. The ONLY two complaints were that food arrived in strange order. We did get the tea first which was great, But then came the scones (sort of the dessert or to accompany Accompany the soup), but then came the sandwiches almost the same time. Then, came the soup! :/ What? Anyway the food was great. Service though very pleasant was really slow from after the scones and sand, to the time the soup finally came and a long time til the check. Could be because they were under staffed.. Don't really know. All in all enjoyed the time with the ladies and ALL the food especially the scones and soup was great. read more

After coming here for tea for years, I was always curious to see if Tea with Tracy would offer more than a light lunch. And they did! Last night my boyfriend and I tried out a full blown dinner. While the staff was still recognizably new and clumsy with the dinner crowd, it was understandable, forgivable, and charming. The atmosphere needed a little help, though, as I also heard other customers making comments. The lights inside were VERY bright for it being so dark out, creating a fluorescent ambience, a little too harsh for such a dainty place. The music kept cutting in and out, so there was about an hour where 3-4 tables just sat in silence, not wanting the others to hear their conversations. The seating was also very close to one another, even when there were only two parties. It didn't leave much privacy. We tried an array of things. The soup was amazing, to my boyfriend's high standards. It was chicken noodle, served in a teacup. I also tried two of the new French teas which were out of this world. We started with the stuffed mushrooms and pear/blue cheese tartlet appetizer, both of which were good, but the tartlets were all crunch (phyllo dough) and very little pear. I wouldn't get them again, unless they changed the vessel. For dinner we had the chicken amore and the Cornish pasty. The chicken was juicy and the flavors worked. But the Cornish pasty (like a meat and potato turnover) barely had any meat in it. It was mostly overcooked dough and some bland potatoes/turnips. I would try something else next time. Dessert was amazing, but we already know their desserts to be great. All in all, I want to come back and try the rest of the menu- maybe when some of the kinks are worked out a little. read more

I came in with some family for lunch. We ordered tea, sandwich and dessert special. The tea was good, the sandwiches were ok but we were really looking forward to the chocolate cupcakes. They were stale and dry. Even the icing was dried out and crumbly. My niece told the waitress that the cupcakes were really dry and she said "oh, I am sorry" and walked away from the table. As a good business practice, the owner or manager should have come to the table and address our complaint or offer us a different choice of dessert. Not likely to return. read more

We wanted to like this charming place so much that we gave it a third try even though the first two were somewhat disappointing. Unfortunately, this will likely be our last visit. We were seated at a table that had been shoe-horned into the center of the room. Our request to move was met with an abrupt "no" despite two other tables remaining empty for the next 90 minutes. Our waitress kept asking us if we were done even though we were clearly chewing and sipping. Never did she ask "how everything was" or "was there anything else we needed". Most of all, we were disturbed by the 15 minute disagreement that the owner had with a family that was trying to use a Groupon. The owner came off as petty, combative, unreasonable and unaccommodating over what was only a few dollars. The dining area is tiny and the surrounding tables couldn't help but over hear this unnecessary exchange. They were new customers and I would be surprised if they return. I went there with my daughter, her friend and her mom for a special mom/ daughter tea. We used a Groupon. We traveled about half an hour to get there. The food was spectacular. We loved the sandwiches, the soup was superb and the banana bread moist and yummy tea. What we didn't get lucky on was a server. Maybe she was having a bad day, but from the moment we walked in, she was not friendly. She hastily sat us down, "explained" the group quickly and left. When I asked to change tables, because the sun was on our backs (and there were ton of free tables) I was told "you can't move because all the tables are filled." The owner thankfully saw my disbelief and said "how about you switch tables." She didn't offer to pour or tea or get us anything else. One of the other servers seemed really nice and was talking to our girls. I thought that in a place like this it would be different and you would feel a bit special, like you were going to a fancy party. at least we got good food and the girls had a great time. read more
