Had to wait outside the door for at least 5 minutes to be able to walk in to see the host (there wasn't a line), the host was lacking energy and seemed annoyed at our request to sit outside with several open tables outside. We were informed that we could not sit at an outdoor table due to them being held for reservations, however when we left AFTER eating, the tables were still empty. On to the experience. It took over 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. We ordered immediately (because we'd had time to memorize the menu by that point), and my husband did not get his beverage until AFTER our food was brought out. Speaking of, "food" is generous. The fried rice was cold, and flavorless. The sushi was ok, thankfully. My husband had to ask the person who brought our food out (not our server) for his drink, and for sushi service to eat what we ordered. We immediately requested the check at first opportunity and the only reason that was completed in a timely manner is because I stood up, ready to leave. I went to this place tonight as I was visiting family and they really wanted to go to Teak Loveland. I wouldn't have tried it on my own due to the low(ish) reviews. The service was great, the younger waiter was very attentive and got my party everything they needed. He checked back often and was very quick. 5 star service all day. The food was just okay. I wanted to order an entree but I was told that the kitchen could not make my food without using seed oils (Canola, soybean, etc.). I ordered sushi, turns out the "crab" is imitation crab. I thought the prices were also about 30% too high. The 2 rolls I settled on were decently good, but not worth the price. We ordered takeout via DoorDash for pick up from Teak and enjoyed a meal at a picnic table along the bike trail. I'd recommend that for a fun summer evening! The food was delicious. My husband and I split vegetable pad Thai and chicken pad see ew. Both were good- but we loved the pad see ew best and found the pad Thai to be on the sweeter side. Both dishes were FULL of egg and veggies like we like them! And omg... the portion sizes are huge! We commented that we could have split one entrée and were super full after splitting two! we also thought it was super affordable $15 (or $16 with protein) for such a huge portion. The only reason I took off one star from our great experience is that the order was late when I picked up. I had scheduled it between 6:50 and 7 o'clock and when I arrived arrive at 7:15, it was not ready yet. The entrance is very small and it was hard for both me and new arrivals to fit. I felt like I was on top of the diners near the entrance and had to keep moving out of the way of the door opening for new diners to be seated. It was very crowded and the staff seemed to handle everything effortlessly and with smiles. They did prepare it for me quickly when I arrived. Everything was very hot. I'm not sure if this is on the DoorDash end or Teak's. We enjoyed our food so immensely that the phone did not eat first! wish I had photos but we scarfed down the yummy noodles so fast. We were here for dinner on a Tuesday night, we arrive around 5:30pm, the place is basically empty. The place is pretty big, well decorated and also has outdoor seating. It's much nicer than the Cincinnati downtown one. I order their mussel and Thai sea bass, very good tasty mussel, i even kept the sauce as it will be so good on rice. The seabass come with slices in a Thai chilly sauce. It's not what i thought, but it's tasty too. Basically it's a bowl filled with veggie, and the topping is the sliced sea bass. Taste good, but i don't think i will order it again next time. Husband loves his teak Trio stir fry, the quantity is pretty large, both of us can't finish it, so we packed half of it home! We ordered and the food came out fairly quickly and was not bad. I was putting food in a to go container when my daughter noticed a hair touching my roll. It was not one of my hairs and I completely lost my appetite to take the rolls home. We notified the waiter and he made the roll that had the hair 50% off. He stated the mgr updated that but at no time did the manager come and apologize or say anything to us. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Teak restaurant in Loveland with a 630 pm reservation. The restaurant was packed with diners enjoying the best of Asian fusion cuisine. We enjoyed a cocktail at the bar while waiting approximately 10 minutes for our table The place has an upscale look with a sushi counter at one end and a full service bar at the other end. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, the plates going by showed that the kitchen was taking extra care to make all the dishes picture perfect. We choose a "Chicken with Japanese Eggplant"(less the green & red peppers), that normally come with it & "Crispy Pork Belly with Kimchi and Sautéed Veggies, both dishes came with white rice. The service was top notch. "Roshini" our waitress took the time to, explain our menu items and even though they were packed the manager came by our table to make sure our experience was perfect. Teak is a trendy Thai and Sushi restaurant in downtown Loveland. This location adds to the overall ambiance and attractiveness of the restaurant, as there are breweries, ice cream parlors and other places of interest within a short walking distance. The area is an experience. As a standalone restaurant, Teak is good. There are no red flags. There are, however, no stand out aspects either. Compared to other Thai restaurants in the extended area - Silver Spoon in Springboro, Thai 9 in Dayton, the food is average. It isn't bad, but it doesn't stand out. I've been to Teak twice now and that has been a constant. One other item to note that was very disappointing was tied to our appetizer. I ordered the Sushi and Sashimi Dinner as an appetizer for the table. This is a chef's choice plate, where the sushi chef chooses what to give you - one roll, pieces of sashimi and also nigiri. This time, he chose to be as basic as possible, with the roll being a basic..... very basic.... tuna roll. I view this as their opportunity to shine, to be creative and they were not. For $30, it left me quite disappointed. Overall, Teak is solid. You'll have a good meal in a great area. You'll pay slightly more for what you get, but not much. Teak just doesn't shine. read more

We arrived before our reservation and ordered drinks at the bar which were decent but I noticed the bar area was disheveled and the light fixtures were filthy. There was a line of people waiting to be seated while many tables sat empty. Once seated we ordered more drinks which took a long time, we ordered Rainbow Roll sushi for an appetizer that came after our entrees. The Shrimp with vegetables was heavily laden with a thick brown sauce. After the server delivered our food she disappeared and never came back to refill our water or provide napkins and utensils so I grabbed them off the empty table next to us. Portions are HUGE though which is great! Jungle noodle - saved the best for last because this entree was soooo good. We came here during Asian Food week and were really stoked for the specials. We were quoted a 30 min wait and told by the manager we could hit the bar for drinks to pass the time. No problem. An hour and a half later, we still have no table. My husband goes to ask the manager where we are in the queue, manager says he took us off, assuming we were eating at the bar. At this point, we were really hungry, so we went ahead and ordered our food at the bar after considering just leaving altogether. Our appetizer never came. My curry was good, my husband's fried rice and pork belly arrived under seasoned and without sauce. We were disappointed on one of our first date nights out since having our baby. Well, you know it's a good sign when you have a REALLY hard time picking something off the menu because everything sounds so good, and that's how we started. Our visit was the day after Christmas, so it's safe to say they were slightly understaffed to be as busy as they were on a Tuesday. Other than the wait times because our poor waiter was running his butt off between his couple tables and the bar he was tending, there was nothing else to say negative about our experience. (Not his fault, he was excellent.) despite being crowded, I really felt like it was nice and cozy, and not loud. We started with crab puffs, which were delicious. The pastry was super light and crispy on the tops and the cream cheese mix actually had visible crab meat in it. My wife ordered a sushi roll I believe called the frog man, or something along those lines. It was so delicious she didn't want to share any with me until the last piece when she committed a cardinal sin and cut the last piece in half. I ordered the Teak Trio, which was a stir fry with chicken, beef and pork belly. Oh my GOODNESS. It was absolutely to die for. This review is a mixed bag: We have had some EXCELLENT food at Teak . . . and some dreadful. The prices are good and the wait staff is friendly, and we have really enjoyed some of our visits. I hope the owners will read the rest of this review and take it to heart. On one visit, my wife and I had dinner at the bar. It was a summer night, and they had the large window open to the deck. My wife ordered a summery drink which included pear juice, I believe. It came with a fruit fly floating on top. When we pointed it out to the bartender, he brought another drink with ANOTHER dead fruit fly. When we pointed this out again, he insisted that it was not a fruit fly but, rather, "a seed" (with wings and legs). We watched him make the drink and saw that the container holding the pear juice was a small open pitcher sitting out under the bar, unrefrigerated, uncovered, in the summer time, WITH THE LARGE WINDOW OPEN. "Seeds" must have drifted in through the window. Another disappointing visit came recently when I ordered the crispy duck (which was WONDERFUL the night of the unfortunate fruit fly incident). The duck this recent time was so dry, I couldn't get a fork into the outer slices. My guess is that it had been prepared a day or two earlier -- maybe even frozen -- and stuck in the microwave. I wasn't going to say anything, but, when the waitress asked how everything was, I thought the management needed to know that shoddy food was going out, so I pointed out the dried up duck. The waitress came back after speaking to the manager (he did not come to the table himself) and she relayed his BS explanation that the duck had "tenderized too long" since we were visiting at the end of the week. WHAT??!! Tenderizing results in DRIED UP meat? So much for the manager taking some constructive criticism to avoid similar quality problems. To add insult to injury, they offered me a $3.90 discount off my $27 entree -- since I had eaten "most" of my meal . . . Yeah, the veggies, rice, and the 50% of the duck that wasn't inedible -- because I was hungry and we were out with friends. We will be back, and I will order the duck again -- because I LOVED it the first time I had it. But, if it comes out like it did this second time, I will not touch it and I will be updating my review. read more

when this place first open, we came here all the time. We've recently have gone back a few times and it has been just horrible. We just went there tonight. The service sucked. I felt bad for our waitress. The place was understaffed and she had to do everything. However, the owner was there and he had a very piss poor attitude. He has no business being in the customer service/food industry, he's very lucky that I don't call the health department. Our food sat out at wrong temperatures, for over 40 min before someone served it to us. Even the waitress came and said. "That's gross, let me have them remake it" which is when the owner said no to her! There was hair in my food, and the water jug caps have mold on them, among other things- definitely will not be going back, which makes me sad because I used to love this place. read more

I was craving sushi & have been dying to check this place out since my husband & I checked out a few other restaurants in the area, so we ended up here on our latest date-night. Luckily we made a reservation on OpenTable on the way there & were seated immediately. It was the day after Christmas, & they were busy - way busier than they anticipated. We were seated near the bar area & the servers kept coming over to the bartender remarking how busy it was (& complaining about coworkers) while he was non-stop moving making drinks & also serving tables. There was a period of time we had nothing to drink & were pretty thirsty (we were only having water & they leave a carafe at the table), especially since my husband had a spicy dish, but it seemed like our server was doing his best & took care of it as soon as he noticed. He explained the spice levels very well as far as what we could expect & gave a sushi suggestion, which is one I heavily considered (he recommends Christmas in July). For our appetizer we had Crab Puffs - crab & cream cheese puffs, sweet & sour sauce. It was $8 for four of them, & they were what I know as crab rangoon, but better. The filling inside was delicious & creamy & the outside was light & crispy. For dinner my husband had a "House Favorite Stir Fry," the Teak Trio - beef chicken, pork belly, tomatoes, bell peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, pineapple, & Teak brown sauce. He ordered a spice level 8 (I believe out of 10) & it was perfect. The spice didn't hit you all at once, but slowly crept up on you. The sauce was delicious, the veggies all had the right amount of crunch, & the meat was as tender. He had quite a large portion at $17 & was *really* looking forward to those leftovers until he left them at a neighboring Graeter's He is typically a Pad Thai guy, but he wanted to mix it up & was very happy he did. I ordered one sushi roll for dinner & kicked myself the rest of the night for not ordering two. I had the Frog Man from the list of "Chef's Special Rolls" - deep fried jalapeño, crab, & cream cheese topped with seared salmon, tuna, eel sauce, spicy mayo, & masago. The roll was $15 for 8 pieces, which I thought was pretty fair for what it was. There were so many rolls that sounded good it was very difficult to choose, but this roll was delicious & I was very happy with my choice. We will absolutely be back to try more dishes! read more

Just came from there. First off great service by the bartender who was waiting our table. Recommend right size portions, very knowledgeable about the menu and the food, and super friendly. Very clean, nicely designed, and great for a friendly gathering of food and drinks or a family dinner. Prices were rightly priced. Full bar with mixed drinks, large wine menu, draft and bottled beer (both domestic and craft). The food was delicious. Lots of menu choices for both entrees and sushi. Wonderful addition to downtown Loveland. Teak delivers on delicious Thai food and the first Asian cuisine in the area. The mussels in green curry are so tasty you'll find yourself drinking the sauce after the mussels are gone. The jungle noodles have a yummy spicy sauce and packed full of goodies like chicken, pork belly and shrimp. Loveland is a great area for families but most the restaurants have American food so this is a great change of pace. It's packed on the weekends so be sure to make a reservation. read more
