The quoted estimate was $1500 for the pads, brake calipers, drums, brake rotors, hardware kits, fluid, and labor. I had seen my car on a lift before taking it to Advantage Auto, and after inspecting the wheels, I knew the brake job was going to be involved (which is part of the reason I didn't want to do it myself). Jason loaned me a car for the day, which I greatly appreciated. AA worked from 9:00 till around 5:30 (they had delays in receiving parts from across town), and got me out of there the same day. My final price of $1300 was lower than the estimated $1500, as they didn't charge me for all the replacement parts. The brakes have been working as needed over the last month. Was it a lot of money? Yes. Did I get what I paid for? Yes. Would I go back? Yes.

Since this was a Saturday many car care places were closed, I happened to find Sinclair after a quick search of finding someone who was open on a Saturday afternoon. Sinclair was quick with their service, but also took time to answer questions and explain what the problem was with my vehicle. When I followed up with additional questions they clearly explained things in a way I could understand. They also took the time to show my husband and I what was the source of the issue. We also happened to share that we had a nail in the tire that we noticed when it was loaded up on the tow truck prior to our arrival, mentioning that we would need to go get the tire taken care of after we left Sinclair. Let me walk you through my experience at Tate Boys with my 2012 Toyota Camry XLE. First off, I'm I 21 year old female college student who knows next to nothing about cars. Some time ago, I ran over one of those cement bumper guard things they have in parking lots. The undercarriage of my car ripped, and the only reason I know that is because it made a horrible grinding sound every time I would go over a speed bump or a pothole or dip or anything. And we live in Tulsa, they're a dime a dozen. Next, my tire gage is automatic, so it tells me when my tires are low and which ones they are. Well, the same ones kept getting low, but they didn't look low, and I would keep filling them up. Even my Dad said they looked fine. So I put that on the list of things to have them look at as well, because I didn't know if it was my gage or my tires, because it was two of them on opposite ends, front right and back left. Finally, my maintenance light blinks on. I can't procrastinate any longer. I have to get this car fixed. The constant grinding, the (!) of low tire pressure, and now this? Forget it, I'll suck up my pride and ask my parents to fix my stupid car. I'll find a way to pay them back. I knew I had to get the oil changed anyway, I'd budgeted for that. But the dealership said that to fix my undercarriage would cost $174.59. And I did not have that kind of money. So I went in to Tate Boys, explained what was going on with the car and that I needed the oil changed, and went to sit down and eat my lunch. I got there around 12:50pm on a Thursday afternoon. They not only changed my oil, they fixed my undercarriage, FREE OF CHARGE MIGHT I ADD, so that it no longer makes that awful noise (and that my dealership was going to charge me $175 for), they also told me I had 2 nails in in two DIFFERENT TIRES, and they repaired them for me, also free of charge, and sent me on my merry little way. Y'all. 21 year old female who had no idea what she was doing. They obviously could have taken advantage of me, but instead, they showed great integrity and they changed my oil, fixed my car, and basically said "We got you, it's on us today."
