The people working there are great. My complaint was not knowing what I was being charged because I have insurance. Great place for physical therapy! This is the third place I've been to and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Super nice friendly staff, everyone is always in a good mood, music they play is always gets my workout going. The therapist always set you at a good pace to get you back on your feet. Don't waste your time. I had Nancy as a PT. I saw her for over 6 months. She would only work on 1 body part at a time. If she was out, she wouldn't allow me to see any other PT, even though that meant I couldn't attend PT within my work schedule. Once I realize that it wasn't an insurance restriction, but her own restriction (concerning the 1 body part at a time), I left. Her rational was that it would extend how long I was at PT. As it was, I was spending 1.5-2 hours, 2 times a week at PT. Let me break it down for you. 10 minutes with Nancy the PT. The rest of the time, I was herded through interns or nonphysical therapist. The interns provide heat at the beginning or massages at the end-30 minutes. I'm not sure how Team PT gets away with charging insurance for massages when they are performed by unlicensed, on the job trained interns. After the heat, I was passed off to non-physical therapist to go through exercises. These individuals would have 3-6 people they were working with at a time. This meant that I often had to wait for them to be available to show me new exercises. This portion could be 45-60 minutes. Nancy didn't seem to know what she was doing. Having been to several physical therapists, I can tell you she's not that good. I ended up going to Rozina & Smith, and I would spend most of my visit with Jason the physical therapist. He'd work on my knee, back, neck - all in one visit. And, I saw results quickly. read more

I came to Team after hip replacement surgery. The techs, physical therapists and programs are excellent. HOWEVER, their COVID-19 protocol is very poor and I did not feel safe at all. The gym is very busy with lots of people close together. Clients (and some staff) either don't wear their masks, or wear them half off. Their is no enforcement or request to correct. I spoke with the manager (Ryan) multiple times and provided pictures. He is talking the talk but unwilling or unable to make changes. If health and safety matter to you, think twice before using this risky facility. I switched to Casa Colina in Pomona, who has a much better patient safety process. read more

In January 2016, I had a severe comminuted fracture at my shoulder and dislocation. I used to participate in ball room dance competitions every year. I couldn't get back to the championship because of the injury. It was Denise Franks who help me. She came up with many different ways to help me recover so I could re-enter the championships in July 2017. I returned to the championships with excellent results and got 2nd place! During the recovery process, I relied on her warm heart and skills to help me in my therapy. Even my doctor couldn't believe that I could return to today's results because of the degree of the injury. Thank you very much to my physical therapist Denise Franks. I take my brother here who is recovering from a stroke and I am AMAZED how his rehab is going and watching how they treat him and others. I had another friend that came here and highly recommended it but after I came here it is OUTSTANDING. The BEST!! They got us though a total of 6 joint replacements between my husband and I. It is the easiest appoints and on one is rushed to get you in and out. They really care for all the patients in their care. My husband has had 5 joint replacements, 3 of them over the past year. Reba has helped get moving again, along with all the Team there at TPT. Then I had a knee replacement and started there with Reba and I just cannot say enough good things about her and everyone there. Jeff is the best! He took the time to explain everything to my son who is 12 years old and fractured his right arm pitching. Jeff took care of of Ev and made sure that a trainer was always with him working through the excersises. It's a great place for athletes to get physical therapy. Make sure they quote you a price before you start. They kept telling me they'd check with my insurance and get back to me. After a few visits, I received a bill for several hundred dollars despite having PPO insurance. This was several years ago, before I joined Yelp. The front staff are all very pleasant!! Reba is a great physical therapist. I also work with Miranda, who is also very good at what she does. They show you what to do at the site, and if possible at home. They give you pictures of what to do and I also brought the band home to do exercises with it as well. If you know what to do after they have shown you a few times then the process is smoother. Most of the people in there do not need a babysitter while doing the therapy. This place was bad. They would show you one time what you were to do with maybe 30 reps, then walk all the way to the other side of the gym. I spent far more time waiting for someone to come back than I did receiving treatment or learning anything to help. I tried them four times and nothing improved. I could stand and waive my arms, and no one would respond. The actual physical therapist spend less than five minutes with me and the underlings were the ones taking off, not even watching/monitoring you. read more

Team Physical Therapy is one of the best facilities to rehabilitate a surgery, or improve an injury. When a client arrives, he or she is warmly greeted by the reception crew. Then on to the warm modalities to loosen up the areas to be improved. You get surveyed by a professional therapist, and a program is set up. Then, onto the individual exercises and stretches that keep the progress going. My therapist, Riba, is very caring and prior to completing the day activities, she manipulates the area in focus. Afterward, it's time for ice and electric stimulation, to provide a great recovery, even having the option of wearing the ice pack home. Team is quite active in helping clients regain the stability that includes a binder with photos and descriptions of work to continue at home. Team really helped me recover well. read more

I would not recommend Team Physical Therapy. Way too may patients not enough staff. It is apparent they are more concerned about how many bodies they can sign up $$$ as opposed to your recovery. My experience included the following. On one occasion I sat for 20 minutes with heat on my leg and when the "Technician" came over to me and I told him I had been there for 20 minutes He said "its not my fault they never told me you were here". I was glad to know it wasn't his fault. That same technician would give me an exercise that took 2-3 minutes to complete and I would wait 10 minutes for him to come back to me. Today's experience was similar. When I first arrived I was told by the Technician she would be back in few minutes to check on me. After 1.5 hours later and just exercising on my own I finally left. If you want to feel like a number and PT in a sea of other patients then this is the place for you. If you want to get more personalized treatment then I would recommend you go some where else! read more

Any review stating that the Team PT therapists make you do unrelated exercises is wrong and uninformed. I have been a high level gymnast for 16 years, and Jeff (the owner and main therapist) is the reason I was able to continue with my sport into college. The most unique part of Team PT is that If you live far or are unable to go in regularly, they take pictures of you doing the exercises and send you home with a binder of the pictures, instructions/notes, and the equipment you need to do them on your own (therabands, foam rolls). I've seen Jeff and the rest of his team for serious back pain, my knee, shoulder, and neck. He saved a close friend of mine whose last resort was a serious surgery through her neck to stop the pins and needles feeling down her arm, and with Jeff's exercises she was fully healed WITHOUT drugs or surgery. He also saved my boyfriend's athletic career after two shoulder surgeries when he was on his way to getting a third. I, like many others who have been referred by word of mouth, am forever grateful to Jeff Bekendam and his staff at Team PT. read more

In April 2013, I drove 1,334 miles for therapy at Team because I knew I would be in great hands. Two weeks prior, I had glanced at the Team Physical Therapy website, which represented a place of inspiration, hope and dreams of the heart. My dream to attend the facility, despite the obstacles of distance, education and an apartment lease in Austin, Texas, had come true. Since 2005, I have been treated at various physical therapy facilities, but the excellence and phenomenal care at Team FAR surpasses the others. In my opinion, Jeffrey Bekendam and his facility are the best in the country. The difference is environment and quality of care. After surgery for a shifting peroneal tendon on my right foot, I completed a year of physical therapy at Team in 2006. I had read they changed lives and experienced first hand that it was true. Not only was I fully recovered physically, but the Team environment had helped move me out of a post college depression. The gym was filled with high energy, goodness, music, and fun. Friendship and socializing extended between patients, and the love, support, and humor of tech Kevin and p.t. Jeff made it a special place. The bustling business full of patients was nothing like I had seen anywhere else. Yet despite the many accolades on the gym walls-including photos of celebrity athletes as former patients-the business maintained a humble, sincere vibe. While most p.t. places provide for 45 minutes of care, at Team sessions are two hours or longer depending on need and availability of the patient. Jeff and his colleagues provide an aggressive approach, pushing patients to reach optimum levels of recovery. Extensive therapy sessions include: custom orthotics, warm and cold whirlpools, heat packs and ice, ultrasound machines, manual therapy (deep tissues massages and stretches), physical therapy exercises in the 8,500 square foot facility, and take home exercises with color digital photos as a guide. Patients are tested on the Biodex machine so therapists can communicate with doctors on patient progress. Jeff's physical therapy technique is aggressive and unique, "thinking outside of the box." In November 2013, I was excited that my mom started treatment at Team for bilateral foot drop and osteoarthritis of the hands. Since then, she has begun walking short distances and will be abandoning her walker soon. Despite the other review, Nancy has worked on my mom and she is very knowledgeable and fantastic! Also, my mom and I have had to attend p.t. on days when our therapists weren't available and have always been able to be stretched by other therapists or technicians who were equally good. Both my mom, I, and other patients have been able to be treated for multiple injuries, while only billed for one hour of physical therapy. After eight months of treatment in 2013 at Team for peroneal tendon problems in both feet and carpel tunnel issues, my wrists are in great shape and my walking is greatly improved. For the first time in about two years, I am able to grocery shop without using a mobile cart! Team Physical Therapy is the reason and will forever hold a special place in my heart. read more

Jeff and the rest of his staff are all amazing. I have had so many injuries and Jeff always helps me feel so much better. Recently, I hurt my back where I could not even close my car door. I had gone to acupuncture, a chiropractor, but still did not feel well. I called Team Physical Therapy and told Jeff about my pain. What was the best was within one visit he had me almost pain free. After the second visit I was pain free and able to function. I have been to Team a few other times and Jeff really cares. He takes the time to help and assess your pain. I would not go anywhere else. In fact, I will skip going to anyone else and come to Jeff first from now on. They are very organized and even give you exercises to do when you don't come there.
