After the first two quarters there is a picture round After the third quarter there is another special question round After the fourth quarter there is 2 final questions. Each of the quarters, Deb plays songs and most of the songs are subtle clues. For example- There was a question this past week that paraphrased "What fast food chain founded by in Ohio by the Raffle Brothers uses the slogan 'We Have The Meats'". Deb played the song "Come Get it Bae" by Pharrel Williams The answer was Arby's... Pharrels hat was the clue. Great Clue! Stump does Trivia at a bunch of Bethesda Bars including Harp & Fiddle, and a few places in Falls Church as well! Not only is the format great and the questions great, but Deb as a host is wonderful. She's funny and has a dry sense of humor. She's very experienced, moves things quickly, and just makes trivia fun!

They were good as the ones we got fresh in Florida. We wanted takeout this time, and decided on their $16 Cuban pressed sandwich. It's layers of tender thin-sliced slow-roasted pork, ham, and Swiss cheese. The bread is like a french baguette, pressed and crispy-toasted, spread with yellow mustard and tangy dill-pickle chips. Little pillows with plenty of salt, a winner. No entree, we shared Onion Rings, Boneless chicken wings (Bbq sauce and garlic Parmesan sauce) and two sausages, bratwurst and knockwurst. Along with my wife ordering Kolsch on tap, we were in heaven. It brought us back to a trip we took to Germany. All delicious. A cursory glance at the menu informed me that I could order schnitzel but there was no beer I found desirable. Luckily the bartender scrounged up a High Noon for me. Charm City Trivia are the #1 most professional, entertaining, friendly, competitive, and respected trivia team in the area. While they're more focused toward the Baltimore area (duh) they do reach down into PG and Howard counties (see the map I included). I've been going to their location at Maple Lawn (Looney's) for about a month or so now and I can tell you that they're amazing. The questions range from the pretty easy ("What movie featured a car with the license plate, "OUTATIME"?) to the pretty difficult ("Name the three capitals of South Africa."). The questions show up on screens throughout the facility and the announcer is very easily heard without being obnoxious. [An added bonus is that the food at Looney's is pretty darn good!] The format is: 6 rounds of questions 3 questions per round 5 (I think) toss up questions (these are numerical questions where the closest to the answer wins) 1 final question (the only one where you can lose points) Each round has three different amounts you can assign to an answer (if you're positive of an answer you assign it the highest number). If you're wrong, you don't lose those points...except for the final question which you can wager up to 40 points. Big swings in team position can happen in the final question. I cannot encourage you strongly enough to try out a location that is hosting Charm City Trivia. Check their website and see the zillions of times and places that they're running a game. Trust me, you'll have a blast even if you come in last place like my team did last night.

I ate badly that day! I had a donut burger; two donuts with burger in between. I found a quiet place outside to eat on the fairgrounds.
