Where to begin? I was a fan of Tease If You Please. I was at their show at the Exchange, and it was spectacular. Their show at the Orpheum was simply awful. I don't know what Donna Hood was trying to do, but it failed spectacularly. It was like she was trying to do a Vegas showgirl show instead of burlesque. The music was terrible... the mixes and jumps back and forth were so confusing even the dancers couldn't stay on beat. The dancers were completely out of sync. Donna's dancing was not dancing... it wasn't burlesque... she just strutted around in great outfits. The lighting was horrific and blinding. It was apparent no one had sat in the audience and checked it. There was too much fog so that we couldn't see half the dancers. The choreography was NOT burlesque... it was an amateur showgirl and a total letdown. When Donna came out on stage to talk, I was floored. She stood there thanking people in the middle of the show and then decided to tell us how awesome she was. She told the audience that we didn't understand how much work went into her show... nice... shame your audience and condescend to them. The audience? I've never seen such rude people. So many people got up and down, up and down during the entire show, that the aisle was continually crowded. There was no security - fights were breaking out several times by a bunch of drunks, and no one stopped it. I was shoved and verbally assaulted by some jerk who decided to get up and down and interrupt the show. There was so much wrong with this show it would take a short essay to outline all the crappy decisions Donna made in this show. I will never go again and will ensure my friends know so they don't waste their money. The only highlight was Tito, Jake, and one other whose name I didn't get because I was being shoved by some aggressive boy child when they introduced her. (Martini glass act... fantastic.) Great performance thanks to one of my yelper friends i discovered this place . Super excited to take my friends here and they enjoyed it . I cant give too much info cuz then you will not go see it ;) I suggest anybody to pay for Vip seating its worth it Drinks were strong and good , waitresses are super nice . Very cool show to see. It's a fun and entertaining production with lots of talented actors. It'll definitely add some spice to your date night. The show we saw was at the Exchange club in DTLA with small round tables setup on the main floor all intimately close to the stage. The costumes, lighting and stage were beautifully done. Hostesses walk around for drink orders so you can just sit back and enjoy the show. read more

What a great "Tease If You Please" performance! Sexy, seductive, classy, talented performers, that provided entertaining burlesque show that is directed by producer Donna Hood. I'm impressed how she started and ended the performance with her performing. Great show! Entry: Look out for the big neon sign that says "Tease if you please" and you're definitely at the right place! We were told to pay $24 at the door before we stepped into the theater (includes 2 drinks and tips). Once you're in, the hostess assigned to your table will guide you to your table. Parking: We did not park at the parking garage next to the theater, they charges up to $20 on peak timing. We made a right turn and parked at a parking garage just 5 mins walking distance for only $7. Tips: Check for goldstar complimentary tickets (just pay tax) since there is a minimum 2 drinks cover charge that you have to pay. read more

My gf suprised me with a really fun date night at Tease if you Please. I love the flirty feel of burlesque shows and enjoy all of the tradition that goes into the act. This show was simply awesome from start to finish. Beautiful and talented performers and several of them amazed me with their acrobatics and talent. The MC (Cuban Missle Crisis) was hilarious and super charismatic making eveyone feel at home. Great location for this show too. I went to this show not really knowing what to expect and I thought us was great! The two hostesses were hilarious and the acts were a variety of old fashion burlesque and new takes on it. Really great date idea and it is very affordable. The venue was small and intimate which was really great. The seating is general admissions by section which isn't the best but you just have to get there early to ensure you get good seats. Only thing is that it is downtown LA that is not in the best area but there is plenty of bars and restaurants around there. read more

Last night we went to the 5th anniversary show at the Palace Theater: FANTASTIC! Donna Hood and her cast exceeded our expectations. A night of comedy, contortionists and of course burlesque. Two takeaways: - Wish we would of seen the show at the Globe, the Palace is less intimate. We'll check out the Black Rabbit Rose show some day. - Drinks are expensive and not much for the price. Possibly one of LA's best kept secrets is "TEASE, if you please!"--a burlesque show that's held inside First & Hope's bar where they blend the 1900's and modern day music together for an enjoyable event! For $30, you'll spend a short evening with talented and gorgeous ladies who are amazing at their craft. Their dance performances are funny, sensual, sexy and will take you for an emotional ride. Held in a small room that can likely only seat less than 40 people, the interactive show is one where each dancer takes on a sassy personality. Be mindful that they could sit on you, play with your hair, and even slap you!--playfully, of course. The tables that you're seated at are actually stages for the ladies so you're guaranteed to get an up, close, and personal show. They even hang onto bars that are placed in the ceilings and will swing every which way! There is a two drink minimum for each table, but drinks are very cheap considering you're in LA. For our group of ten people, the bill was only about $110--and each person had more than one drink. To appease designated drivers and non alcoholic drinkers, soda and water are served too. ---- Conclusion: 4.5 Stars! I wouldn't recommend the show for people who are claustrophobic because the room is tiny and seats are crammed together. However, everyone else should come check it out! The show begins at 9:30 and lasts for about 2 hours. Come early to pick a seat. The girls perform at the front AND back of the room so I recommend sitting on the side of the walls because they're most comfortable and you'll be able to see the entire show. If you sat in the front like me, you'll be forced to turn around many times which can be bothersome. Despite that, I'd definitely come back to watch again! This is such a fun place....Like super fun. Once you get to the back of Au Lac, it's like you are transported to another era. It's dark and smoky but so plush and so secret. Oh so naughty! The MC the night that I was there was a bit on the cheesy side, but the ladies working the stage were outstanding! Beautiful and talented and so so sexy! I'm kind of Jealous of Annette T getting a butt grind session at her show, but that's okay...I can come back and try my luck again. Totally worth the drive to DTLA! I attended the Valentine's day showing of "TEASE, if you please!", and had a blast! I had a standing room ticket on the mezzanine level. The mezzanine level is beautiful. It's lined with chandeliers, couches against the back wall, and a bar ! It felt like a party! Since it's standing room you have more freedom to walk around, and chat and hang with friends. Looking down below I could see all of the table seating, and it looked very romantic with roses and candles on each table. The performers were so talented! You can tell that they put in a lot of time and effort in to each number, and all of the costuming. This show is the most professional burlesque show I've ever seen from start to finish. I was lucky enough meet the Producer (Donna Hood) after the show was over. She went around to almost every table to take pictures, and ask guests about their experience. Smart business woman, and extremely talented performer. I will defiantly be retuning to another show, and hopefully get a table next time. It sells out quick so my best tip would be to reserve early! read more

Thanks to yelp I found the petfect place to go to. My partner and I went to see the show over the weekend for Valentine's Day called Tease If You Please!!and I must say for our first time seeing burlesque show we had an awesome time, from beginning to end. The performers we very sexy and entertaining even the guy had the ladies whistling for him good choice to have him perform. Very comical. The food was great we had mashed potatoes (I didn't really care for) there was roast beef, rice salad a biscuit macaroni and cheese which was delicious expecially that roast beef. The host was a little corny with some of his jokes I just hope next year he will come up wit something better. I recommend this show to everyone! I've had the opportunity of attending the show 2 times now. The first time I attended was about a year ago, I didn't know what to expect but I had a blast. The experience felt like a true burlesque show, very classy. The 2nd time I got invited I knew I loved the show enough that if I saw the same act I was going to be ok with it, to my surprise the talent & show they put on this 2nd time was even more entertaining, different girls and different acts. I really enjoyed myself, Drinks were great, bartender & staff were nice. The Host Tito Bonito was hilarious & entertaining. Would recommend if your looking for an entertaining night out. WOW! This show is incredible! Heard about Tease if you please from a friend and decided to check it out on Friday night with a few friends. We were all blown away by the caliber, humor, and classiness of all of the performers. I have only seen a handful of burlesque shows, but this was definitely the most entertaining one I know of. The performances and costumes were impeccable! Definitely a little less traditional burlesque, where they come out fully clothed and dance their clothes off. This one is like knock down drag out sexy and dance-y right off the bat. The EmCee was hilarious and gives the audience a wonderful little surprise at the end! This is a really great burlesque show that is one of those things you can only find in a city like NYC or LA so make sure you do it if you're in town. You don't need to eat in the First and Hope restaurant beforehand (their food kinda sucks, check the reviews) but bd sure to be there at 9:00PM because that's when they open the Fedora Bar inside where the show is and you'll want to get a good seat because they are extremely limited and big parties tend to book up a lot of the best seats. Tip: sit on stools at the bar on the side closest to the stage if you can't get good seats because you'll have a great view from there. read more

I would rate this a 5 because the show was amazing. The performers are outstanding, skilled and quite smart with their sets. I would love to come see this show again if they were at a different venue. However, this is getting a 3. The venue while in a cute setting was a horrible experience. The bartenders could not make a drink to save their lives (how hard is it to make a vodka martini?), the waitstaff was rude, and do remember there is a 2 drink minimum. I don't mind the 2 drink minimum however they were very rude and hesitant when my designated driver said I don't drink alcohol or soda so I would like water. The fact that they treated us like crap because we had an actual designated driver who was being responsible was un-cool.The large party we were with were told that the seats we chose to take were available. Later they tell us we have to move,because the seating is reserved (that no one showed up for anyway). Mind you they wanted us to move after being seated for at least 45 minutes. The staff is really uncoordinated. I will not be recommending this to any of my friends because of my experience with First & Hope. read more

Definite MUST-SEE! Last night my boyfriend and I enjoyed an unforgettable night ya Tease if you please! But let me just back track a little bit to the start of the night. We purchased the VIP package which includes dinner following the most unexpected show afterwards. Servers and staff were really sweet and eager to make the night enjoyable even before the show even started. Food was good and the restaurant was quaint and intimate. You can have a convo and not have to scream your lungs out to hear each other. I really liked that. The show started around 930 and the ambiance was totally different, in a good way. Still dim lighting and intimate seating but the bar was opened and let me tell you, some people definitely abused that little fact. There was a bachelorette party attending and what started out at harmless fooling around easily excused by the booze, quickly became an abnoxious "can't-hold-my-liquor-even-though-I'm-grown" moment. The bride to be was getting up during the girls' performances and like I said, the venue is small so your eye catches everything, eve. Things you wish you didn't have to look at (the drunk girl falling all over the place). Eventually she got her party kicked out and the rest of us got to enjoy the real show. The girls did AMAZING! There honestly was something about each girl up on stage that got you a little hypnotized. Definitely bowing down to ms. Donna hood. W O W. She's the creator and brains of the entire company and after her numbers, I can definitely see why. She was definitely my ultimate favorite. And trust me, you're gonna wanna stick around for the dark haired seductive Christine. You will not be disappointed! (I don't know who's jaw dropped lower during her dance, mine or my boyfriends) amazing. The whole night wouldn't have been as playful and easy going if it wasn't for the host of the night.
