The mushroom and kale pie was nice and cheesy and the rocking vegan pie was more savoury, with a variety of vegetables and chickpeas as stuffing. The crust was neither too soft nor too crunchy. The highlight of the meal was the curry chips: potato wedges lightly fried with masala and curry leaves. The dipping sauce that came with the chips reminded me of tikka masala sauce, and paired beautifully with the chips. Dessert was toffee pudding: the caramel sauce that came with the pudding was delectable - the pudding itself was excellent and not overly sweet. We tried a variety of NA beers, and I was pleased with how many options they had. Service was quick, and we were well looked after. The ambiance is warm, with dim-ish lighting and a lot of dark wood. The restrooms were gorgeous - special shoutout to the lovely floral wallpaper. Overall, I highly recommend Pleasant House - the vibe is chill and understated and the food is stellar.

The chicken pie I think really needed the chutney that you can get separately. But that made it so much better and made it my preferred pie. The steak and ale pie was better than the chicken pie as a standalone, but needed a bit more gravy I think to elevate it. Sticky toffee pudding again was delicious. Surprisingly light, not overly dense so I was glad it came with the custard which was very flavorful. Overall, will definitely return!

Unfortunately, the mac and cheese was also lukewarm, although the fries were piping hot. We've been here many times before, especially during the holidays, and it has never disappointed us. Maybe this was just an off night, with some of the dishes not coming out as hot or fresh as they should have been. We'll come back and give it another try the next time we're in the area.

One other cool thing is that there's a speakeasy downstairs. I went down and found the bookcase which is the door, but it didn't open until the evening. Amy G. I think you left out a few things from your experience. 1. You waited maybe 2 minutes. More like 45 seconds from when you sat down. But I'll give you 2 minutes. 2. I asked you very politely if I could get you something to drink. With a highly aggressive manner you barked that you had waited "for a long time". I apologized for your wait and again asked what I could get for you. You ordered a vodka cranberry. I smiled like a good bartender does knowing how to deal with customers like you. I placed a coaster and your drink in front of you. That's $5 dollars please. 3. You told me that you were NOT going to pay for it. At that point I realized that maybe you just had enough to drink and I shouldn't be serving you. So I dumped your drink. If you were not going to pay for it then it was a wasted drink. I paid for that drink on my comp. 4. I asked you to leave. You asked for the manager. I was the manger on that night but you decided to argue, push and slap my door staff. As a private business we have the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason. You gave us many reasons that night. I think it's only right that your review has both side of the story. I would hate to lose good potential customers over a bad review from someone that probably gets their food spilt on at chain restaurants after she waited so long just for her vodka cranberry. Watch the movie "Waiting". It's a good reference for what to do and how to treat your service staff at bars and restaurants. Respect given=respect returned. We would like to fire you as a customer and hope you can find a bar/late night bar that will be accepting of you. read more

There are 2 things that are great about this place... CHEAP and right by our home. Besides that... there is no besides that... The only reason you go here is because you... 1) still live at home with your parents.... 2) still live at home with your parents nearby... 3) still live at home with your parents nearby and are over 30 4) likes to be called a douche bag 5) absolutely have no ounce of class in your system :D Like many on here... yes.. you will see grown men chest bump... and yes the douche bag to none ratio is WOW! My wife and I ended up here one night.. because we were still up for drinking and there was absolutely nothing to do... reality hit as soon as the regulars bellied up next to us with fresh ice cold old styles.... and kept em coming..... I'm just thankful we still walked out of that place with some dignity left over :D read more

Just kidding on the stars. If you like the smell of urine and stale beer, this place is great. While the bartenders are usually pretty fast and drinks made well, they need to try and cater to better clientele. It's a 4/5am bar, so it is full of old-timers that appear to have been there since noon till 9-10pm. Then, it is dead until 2am when all the other bars close and no one has any place better to go. If you want to hear a song, you better be patient. The staff like to put on their music which often consists of death metal and whiney emo music. Overall..... The pluses are Decent staff behind the bar Great place to test your immunity to STDs Right across the street from TBK, so you can stumble with the rest of the patrons after. If you're the type of guy who likes to snort coke, pick fights and hit on ridiculously drunken women (or the type of girl who looks for these qualities in a guy), then you may have just found your new favorite bar. Not everyone in Teaser's is a complete tool, but with plenty of real estate and a 4 a.m. liquor license, this hellhole quickly fills up after 2 with every douche bag from the surrounding area. Your senses will be bombarded with obscure (terrible) songs played from the jukebox and meatheads walking by shoulder-bumping you in a pathetic attempt to establish dominance. The best thing I can say about Teaser's is that it's located near a Taco Burrito King. And I hate Taco Burrito King. read more

Don't even bother with this place, unless it is 3 a.m. and nothing else decent is open. Even then, I'd think about just going home (or down the street to Taco Burrito King) This is hands-down the worst bar I've ever been too. The crowd sucks (posers and/or morons), the inside is dingy and gross, the music is a recycled mix of lousy 80's music, there is no decent beer on tap, and not that it would matter because the service staff stinks. Just skip it and go somewhere else. I would not recommend this bar to my worst enemy. read more

Place smells like urine. The man who sells the pizza slices is a jerk to say it nicely as are the security guards. The male bathroom is disgusting and the graffiti is a nice touch. Don't bother coming here and spending money unless you enjoy being around a crowd of losers, bartenders that provide horrible service and being inside a bar that smells like a toilet. The same handful of people kept singing every few songs, so they must have all gotten there early and put in like 20 songs each. There were also a lot of repeats (I heard "What's Up?" by 4NB 4 times in the first hour I was there). It would be nice if the KJ bumped newer people up sooner before circling back to people who had already sung like 7 times, and if they pushed back song repeats, but in the end we're all just there for a good time and everyone sings along to everything, so it's fine. They card everyone and do scrutinize closely, which is good. One younger-looking girl in our group had to pull back her hair to prove it was her in her photo because her license photo had her hair slicked back. Food was decent. I didn't drink anything but the people I was with seemed happy with their drinks/they kept ordering more. They have video slots. One person in our group won $60 and one person lost $10 in 30 seconds, so it's hit or miss lol. I didn't go to the bathroom while I was there so I can't speak to cleanliness that other reviewers have mentioned. They're open to 4am, which is awesome. I tapped out at 1:30 because I'm old now, but if I was in my 20s I'd love the 4am thing. I'd go back with a group again.

Good cheap drinks. That's all you need to be honest. Basic looking divey ass bar. It's been around a long time but has a new name. This used to be O'Malley's. Cleaned it up a bit. Gone is all the green paint. A few things to get cheap. It's about $6 for Jameson. A few things on tap but most beers are in bottles and cans. They also have a few specials like pints. For sure it's not pretty but for getting wasted it's just good enough. It's located on Harlem just north of Belmont which is kind of a big intersection. There's no food but you can bring in stuff.
