I used to help my parents resolve their basic computer issues, but now that I'm not at home I can't do much for them when they come across tech problems. I'm so glad that the tech here is so friendly and efficient! They arrived promptly to check out the problem on the computer, there was a virus and the anti-virus was way out of date. They promptly fixed the problem and helped them update what was necessary so my parents can access the internet safely. My mom streams her movies but watches them on the little monitor and it kills her back and eyes. At the same time, they don't want to spend a bunch to upgrade all the electronics. The tech offered other options to satisfy my mom's new hobby, they got the part and connected everything. So now my mom can watch her movies on the flat screen instead of killing herself sitting in front of the computer! She can't be any happier. I first spoke to John who is the owner. He listened attentively then scheduled an apt for the next day with someone from his team. The next day Matt called me at the exact appointment time. I was very frustrated with this problem I had for almost a week. Matt calmed me down and again went over the problem with me that I had explained to John. I was amazed at how knowledgeable, patient and professional he was. It took so many steps and 1 1/2 hours later my problem was resolved!! I almost screamed with relief and excitement!! Okay so I was gifted a year subscription to techhandymens THInc Safe service for Christmas but I didn't redeem it until today, because this morning my work computer suddenly began operating abnormally slow. I was frustrated so I called up Tech Handymen to cash in my Christmas gift and scheduled a call back with their remote monitoring guy. He called back when he said he would and after installing a program he was able to remotely view my computer while on the phone with me and do a brief diagnosis of my operating system. Turns out I've somehow accumulated the LOAD of malware and harmful programs over the years, even with a virus protection service. The handyman got to work quickly cleaning up my computer and told me in the morning he will have an accumulated list of programs he'd recommend to uninstall. The best part about all this though: my computer is getting fixed and I don't have to tell my boss it was in the craps! Update: this is an email from Mr Reid from Tech Handymen and the all the crap that was bogging my computer down. I had been scammed by a unit that was posing as Microsoft Tech Support. I disconnected from their site when they requested payment through Google. I had used Tech Handymen previously and was satisfied with their assistance. I called and asked that they inspect my computer for any viruses that may have been planted. They obtained control of my laptop and began some procedures. After 20 minutes or so, the computer demanded a password. It would not accept the ones that I had. I asked Tech Handymen if they would come over to assist. They said it was an easy issue to resolve but they could not until after the weekend. On Monday they said they would not be able to but would be over Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday, they said they could not make it until possible Friday. I stated during the discussions that if they were unable to make it, I would go to Best Buy. They were less than candid about their reasons and, regrettably, I have documentation of that.
