The ceiling light fixture took about one hour, and he was very thorough in his measurements which I appreciated. Even though I was his last appointment on a Friday afternoon, he took his time to make sure everything looked great. I used Yelp and NextDoor to ask around for quotes from electricians in the area. McCauley Electric prices were right in the middle of the pack for a light fixture install, but much more competitive and attractive than some of the more popular electrician companies in the area. I was really hesitant with some of the lower quotes I received as their online reviews were poor. Recently some of the programming went "wonky" which is part of the issue they caused with the driver's they installed and the owner literally told me to reach out to the guy who sold us the system who no longer works for AAA, how crazy is that. When I called to confront him about this ludicrous statement he told me to "shut up"! Being a business owner for nearly 2 decades I truly understand customer service and ethical conduct as a business owner and Phillip Ampel the owner of AAA is probably one of the most unprofessional, dishonest individuals I have come across. I called Electronic Minions for help troubleshooting my home network. They responded to my email on Friday, came out for a preliminary assessment on Monday, and completed the entire job on Tuesday. Harris (the owner) is a networking guy. He knows how to go about troubleshooting home or business networks. While he, like most other tech services, have preference on brands of products, he's transparent and honest. He diagnosed my issues, suggested a fix, charged me his cost for the hardware, and a reasonable cost for installation. He's prompt, knowledgeable, and will offer you options at varying cost that you can consider before signing below. Is it cheap? No. Should it be? Absolutely not. Our house has doorbells, cameras, phones, media players, TVs, game consoles, thermostats, and computers. Literally dozens of devices that rely on a fast, consistent signal. The fee I was quoted for it by EM was $250 flat. I thought that steep, it's about what I paid to have it all installed including the cost of the antenna 6 years ago by the now retired Cliff at Atlanta Antenna. While the chimney is on the second floor, it's accessible by climbing from the first story over the garage. Anyway, sent photos from the ground and was basically told it would be easier to replace the antenna for the $250 plus the cost of the antenna. What? Anyway, found someone used by a home theater installer and he did in 20 minutes for $150, closer to what I expected to pay Pros Got back to me fast Cons Price EDIT: The person who came and did the job, whose name I got from Franco at Smart TV Installation of Atlanta, quoted me $150 over the phone after I sent him photos.
