NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE FOR COMPUTER REPAIR! Request was put in to clean fan blades on laptop as it was noisy. Next day they call and state they have completed the requested task PLUS added new thermal grease. When brought home, the laptop was just as noisy and on closer inspection by an adult, it was determined fan blades were STILL DIRTY. Brought it to another tech outfit, who determined the fans had not been cleaned nor did it appear the laptop had been taken apart by finding dog hair inside. Terrible service, or should I say charging for no service?! They won't even admit to their mistake and refund the money they charged up front! read more

The person behind the counter really knows his trade. He diagnosed, put a "band aid" on the current problem, and he was also able to assess other upcoming maintenance issues on the fly. (Under 15 minutes). Pricing was also more than reasonable. Definitely recommend!! read more

just received a call from the store manager. i was told she listened to the call i made to her "associate" and my call was very inappropriate. not only that, but it was insinuated that i was a liar!!!! i brought a power cord into the store with my pc in a bag big enough to hold the pc and the power cord. somehow they lost the bag because all that was given back to me was the pad that sat in the bottom of it and it was on top of my pc when the kid brought it from out back. i was told that the bag they supplied me with - a bag that just barely fit over the pc - had the power cord in it. i watched the kid put the pc on a chair, turn the bag upside down and wrestle with it to get it over the pc!!! there was no room in that bag for a power cord - so the associate lied, not me!!!! the manager wouldn't even let me get a word in edgewise, repeated to me a few more times that the power cord was in the bag - yeah ok, and i tried to explain to her again but she would not listen and told me that the next time i call to be more polite with her associates and she wasn't going to "agrue" with me any more, said good bye and hung up. well manager at techy, your store sucks, your associate lied to you, there was no power cord in the bag he supplied me seeing how it was barely big enough to fit over my pc, you either lost or gave away the bag i brought the pc in with = all i got back of the bag was the pad that was in the bottom of the bag!!! i will never ever set foot in your store again and no way in hell i'll ever recommend your store!!!!! read more

My first experience using the Waterville Maine location, at the end of September, was overall five stars! Although some confusion by a departing technician, delayed my return, Nick Rancourt, the technician who completed the repair, did an outstanding job. Also, Dakota who also did intake and check out, handled getting caught in a pricing mistake the first tech made, left this customer leave satisfied and willing to rate the company fairly. Brought my laptop in for service as I didn't have the tools on-hand to open it up and I figured these folks would take care of things pretty fast. Was getting BSOD with MEMORY_MANAGEMENT stop code. I figured, I could request a memory (RAM) upgrade and, in the process, we could see if that would resolve the issue. After having my laptop a few days, they said, "We want to try re-installing the OS". I told them that was fine, but let them know I had already done that. Then I checked in a couple days later and they said, we need to install a new SSD drive. I had a 2TB drive and they only had 1TB. At this point, I said that would be fine as I needed to get my computer back. Long story short and $260+ later, got it home and hit the same BSOD that evening. I was disappointed. So I went online and ordered the tools and the replacement RAM (another $127, but I should've just done this in the first place). A day or two later, I received the supplies and did the replacement myself. Laptop is running perfect with no errors and excellent performance. Bottom line: 1. Many times I would call to check in on things and I would be told that I would receive a call later in the day. No callbacks. If you tell a customer you are going to do something, by all means, just do it. 2. Why not start the troubleshooting with the memory replacement if the customer says they want to upgrade it anyway? If it doesn't fix the issue, no harm done, just move on to the next step. In my case, if we had just started with that, I wouldn't have had to pay for a hard drive unnecessarily that was half the size of the one I already had. To be fair, the people that I spoke with were extremely pleasant and I realize this is a very busy place. I do believe, however, if things were done a bit differently (see above), this would have been resolved much more efficiently and I would be writing a 5-star review right now. read more

TOTALLY dissatisfied. Took a laptop in to have it repaired. Cost me over $150.00 which you are required to pay right then and there. (Plus a tip which they ask for BEFORE even doing ANY work. Of course you feel compelled to tip or else how long will it take them?!!??!) A week later I get a call that windows needs to be re-installed. BUT there's something else wrong with it, they say. I tell them, NO...do not do anything else because it would be cheaper just to buy a new laptop (Which I did that day). I ask them just to collect all the pieces and I'll come in to get it. I go in and am told it wasn't THERE. They sent it out. Now, the reason I went there was because of all the "RAVE" reviews only to find out they outsource? Unbelievable.!!! Then a couple weeks later I don't hear anything so I go there. There's my laptop on a cart. So evidently they can't give you a call to let you know you can come get it? The person at the counter tells me it is working but it is slow. I bring it home and there is nothing different. The SAME, EXACT problem exists. It doesn't work...not even "slowly". It doesn't appear as if anythging was done. NEVER again. I wouldn't trust those people to repair a toaster or put batteries in a flashlight. It's like bringing your car in for a tire rotation and they tell you that a new alternator, starter, (fill in the blank). I fell for the hype of this place...news segment, Facebook recommendations, etc. I have about 6 laptops in my basement because I have never before felt comfortable taking it to these "computer gurus" because I didn't trust them. Now I feel totally justified in that belief. Quite the racket they got going on. In MY opinion it wasn't worth my time, effect or money. In MY opinion I would say, stay away from this place. Lesson learned. read more
