What I especially loved was the honesty Jane gave me. She told me I had some hair that was too short and I wouldn't be able to remove it all, I was already there so whatever's lets do it! Cheap, fast, and pain-filled. What more can a girl ask for? My classmate raved about Ted D Bare, and as I checked them out on Yelp, I found out I had already bookmarked this place. Purrfect! It was easy to email them and make an appointment. As busy as the girls are, they have plenty of availability. I also read their website and it's highly entertaining if you're ever bored. The suite was fairly easy to find and there were plenty of parking in the lot. It was very dark though, and the parking lot doesn't have any lights so be careful ladies! I walked in the suite and it was nicely lit and decorated. Loved their interior design and the restroom was super cute! No one greeted me, however there was someone doing brows at the brow bar. I sat down confused, then asked the girl next to me where to check in. She gave me a clipboard to fill out and told me to hold onto my paper. After a while, another girl came in and basically repeated my steps. She asked me where to check in and I handed her the clipboard to fill out. Shortly after that, Jane came out and pointed right at me with her index finger and fingered me into the room with her. Just like that, she got me half naked on her bed. They use soft wax here at a very low, comfortable temperature, which was completely different than my experience at EWC where the wax was almost burning my lady part once it hit my skin. Jane was a chatty cathy the whole time and complimented me saying, "You take pain like a mother ^%&%!" I felt like my girlfriend was waxing me until she told me to turn over and get on all four's with my ass in the air. When she finished, she spanked my ass and said, "Now go out and show off my work." I have been going here for about a year now since I moved to the Bay Area for my Brazilians. I recently moved to San Francisco and I still come all the way down to San Jose just for the waxes. All the aestheticians do a great job and keep great conversation to distract for the (very minimal compared to other places) pain. They are sanitary and use a new stick every time and take literally 10 minutes to do a near perfect job. I like all the girls there but Pai is my favorite! read more

After confirming my appointment, all I had to do was wait until then. I went to my appointment early and filled out the paper work. Then waited to meet Pai and she was amazing. Super sweet. I've been going to Ted D Bare for a Brazilian for over a year now. And I'm always on time for my appointments. This last time I was a little late ( by 8 mins) . And Gavi said she couldn't see me. I understand they are on 15 min windows and they have clients one after another. But I waited till 7pm ( when they close). I waited for an hour so they can squeeze me in somehow. Brazillian at this place takes no more than 7 mins. They are super fast. So even if they were fully booked. The fact that I waited for an hour, they could have seen me after their other clients or somehow squeezed me in. Gavi was totally inconsiderate. She didn't even apologize. She was down right mean. I get it they have a lot of bookings and clients but it won't kill them to once in a while go a little out of their way to be nice to a recurring client. This has left a terrible taste in my mouth and I'm never going back here every again. read more

Jane is a vindictive hypocrite. At first she seems nice, but after multiple years of seeing her, I've discovered the real Jane. I've been seeing Jane for many years, and have "always" arrived 15 minutes early to ensure she's not waiting on me. In September, my Boss called me into a meeting that conflicted with my appointment, and I immediately wrote early in the early morning, apologizing and letting her know that I needed to move my reservation (it was about 4.5 hours prior to my appointment). I received a message from Jane scolding me for "putting her in a bad position" and that she would have difficulty filling that slot to bring in revenue. I once again apologized. When I arrived for my next appointment, I met with Pai (great person), and I offered to pay for the last appointment, and she said it wasn't a big deal, and they were able to fill the slot, so they didn't lose any money. Flash forward to my next appointment - I arrive 15 minutes early as usual, and wait, and wait, and then about 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, Jane comes out and says "you didn't get my email?" I responded that I didn't receive any message. She said that she had to cancel my appointment, and that she couldn't take me in for another 2 hours, since she was back-to-back until 7:00 PM. She said that Pai had to leave and that caused problems with the schedule. I told her to forget it (as I couldn't wait that long on a Friday night). After thinking about this for a bit, I started to realize that this was worse than what I had done to her, and it was truly a waste of my time (driving there, waiting, then driving home - 2 hours total). I wrote to her in a professional manner, asking why I was not offered the courtesy that she wanted from their customers? I told her that I was disappointed. How can she scold me for giving them notice, and then turn around and not provide me with the courtesy of a phone call, text or email (I received none of that)? The next message I got really took the cake. Jane said that I should now find another waxer that is closer to my home. I've been blackballed! All because I asked for a courtesy notice of cancellation - something any business should provide. Can you say Vindictive-Hypocrite? read more

I was so glad to find Ted D Bare thanks to all of the Yelpers who gave this spot glowing reviews! There was a potential scheduling snafu in the works initially but thankfully it was resolved quickly in large part to some swift communication on their end and I was able to get in with Pai at my desired time. She was such a doll to work with and really did keep my mind off the pain... for the most part. I can honestly say that it hurts A TON in the moment, but the pain goes away fast and when you have 30 Rock to watch and someone so friendly and personable to talk to during the process, who really cares? Amid all the chit chat, Pai shared tips and tricks on how to get the most out of the work she was doing and how to properly care for yourself post-wax. I found that to be extremely helpful and was impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff on all levels. And as much as you want to tip - because you'll want to - I totally respect their no-nonsense no tipping and cash only policies; it's straight forward business practices like these that drive customer loyalty because you know what you'll get every single time. Let me tell you that I'm not a very hairy person, so it was pretty painless and fast. The esthetician Pai was amazing very cool, calm, understanding and super helpful distracting me from the awkwardness that radiates through me. This was only my second Brazilian in my lifetime. Did I mention I'm not a very hairy person so it truly wasn't painful for me. I was in out and on with life in less than 15 minutes. I was expecting this to be a lot harder on me than sugaring, but I was super surprised. Sugaring was far more painful, costly and time consuming! No really 50 minutes of hard core pain with a heavy price tag. It was my first time and I had more hair then I did today. I also noticed the sugaring didn't remove every single hair. I've been coming here since 2016 and I'll never go anywhere else. As someone who's a licensed cosmetologist with a business of my own, I always check places with beauty services for cleanliness and organization and this place passes with flying colors. On top of that, it's decorated so perfectly and makes you feel so comfortable. The staff is warm and hilarious. I've been waxed by Jane and Pai but I'm more of a consistent customer with PAIN JANE. She's crazy fast and efficient, she's fun, and she keeps you talking so that you're distracted from the waxing. I've gotten my friends to start coming here throughout the years and they love it here as well.
