Made an appointment with Pai for a Brazilian. It was quick, thorough and probably the best Brazilian I've ever gotten. I'm a convert from European Wax Center and I don't think I'll ever go back as long as Pai is out here in these streets waxing. Pai is real down to earth and keeps it real! She reminds me a lot of my friends that also come to see her. I can see why they come to Pai religiously. I disagree with the overly sensitive folks that aren't accustomed to Pai's personality and leave their crybaby reviews. Grow a pair! Pai's really good at what she does. You can't knock her for that. Respect her work and respect her time. Just came to say that the new appointment system is dope and I really like it. It takes out the painful choice of having to choose between Jane and Pai. I got seen by Pai right on time & it was one of the quickest and painless waxes that I've ever gotten! $45 for a Brazilian (including happy trail and in between butt) and is cash only. I've been looking for a wax place that I can utilize on a regular basis since moving to San Jose, I have found it! First, you check out the calendar on their website for availability and email with your top 3 date/time choices. I received a response very quickly and had an appointment scheduled for the following week, super easy process. All the prices are stated online, cash only and no tips allowed. The waiting area is super cute and modern and everyone was friendly when I arrived. The waxing room was very clean and cute. By far one of the easiest waxing appointments I've ever had, quick and efficient without being unbearable or feeling rushed. I was in and out within 20 minutes for a Brazilian ($45). After a year I've decided I want to get a Brazilian wax again and I was extremely nervous of the pain. I'm not gonna say it didn't hurt but it was very minimal and not anything crazy. Jane is the best hands down! Her place is very clean, cozy, and hip. I loved how welcoming and comfortable she made me feel (felt like I was with a friend catching up). I used to work down the block from here and never noticed this place existed. I used to go to a different center to get my waxing done which was more expensive BTW. Jane was super nice and was great at everything she did! It went by super fast. This is not my first rodeo but I do not like pain. I have had years of not too painful, almost relaxing brazilians, and I have had some seriously horribly painful ones. My gal in Aptos (Marika at Bella Dawna - amazing) is pregnant and I live over here now so I decided to move on before she takes leave. After reading many yelps I chose Ted D Bare. The faq and their email responses are a little harsh/scary, but I was feeling brave so I gave Pai a shot. There was no leaving me alone in the room to get undressed and lay down with the privacy towel, I got undressed in front of her and she immediately went to town. I appreciated the no-fuss approach. There's no sense in a waxer trying to pretend they are not right up in your business, they are and it behooves them to move stuff and do what they need to do to get the job done. It was probably the least painful wax ever, but I have been going regularly and that helps. It took about 7 minutes. Cash only and no tipping. I asked her if they do a lot of men and she said that is the majority of the clients. That explains the harsh, almost condescending language on the website (sorry, men are sometimes thick headed and things need to be drilled into them.) 5 stars, so easy and a great price! read more

I loved the set up of the waiting room area and rooms. Very nifty and cool. Ms. Jane's business has definitely blossomed. The last time I got waxed by Ms. Jane, she was renting out a tiny room in a studio by herself and now works with 2 other people in her own space. Making an appointment hasn't changed. Contact them through email and they get back to you quickly. They will ask you to choose your top 2 choices and will send you an email confirming the appointment. I haven't gotten waxed by Ms. Jane in a few years. She was very quick and thorough, by far the fastest but great quality. Pai gave me a Brazilian and she was legit. I'm so glad I found this place. Quickest Brazilian I've ever had, thank God! I only get waxed in the summer, but Pai has me reconsidering that. Waxing is always painful, but this was the least amount of pain I've felt with soft wax. Pai also left me a "landing strip". I'm glad she gave me that option b/c that's my most sensitive area. I hate waxing that part. Pai made me feel comfortable and it was very casual. You start on your back, butterfly, and then you get in all fours. Before you know it, you're out of there. Cheap, fast, and pain-filled. What more can a girl ask for? My classmate raved about Ted D Bare, and as I checked them out on Yelp, I found out I had already bookmarked this place. Purrfect! It was easy to email them and make an appointment. As busy as the girls are, they have plenty of availability. I also read their website and it's highly entertaining if you're ever bored. The suite was fairly easy to find and there were plenty of parking in the lot. It was very dark though, and the parking lot doesn't have any lights so be careful ladies! I walked in the suite and it was nicely lit and decorated. Loved their interior design and the restroom was super cute! No one greeted me, however there was someone doing brows at the brow bar. I sat down confused, then asked the girl next to me where to check in. She gave me a clipboard to fill out and told me to hold onto my paper. After a while, another girl came in and basically repeated my steps. She asked me where to check in and I handed her the clipboard to fill out. Shortly after that, Jane came out and pointed right at me with her index finger and fingered me into the room with her. Just like that, she got me half naked on her bed. They use soft wax here at a very low, comfortable temperature, which was completely different than my experience at EWC where the wax was almost burning my lady part once it hit my skin. Jane was a chatty cathy the whole time and complimented me saying, "You take pain like a mother ^%&%!" I felt like my girlfriend was waxing me until she told me to turn over and get on all four's with my ass in the air. When she finished, she spanked my ass and said, "Now go out and show off my work." I have been going here for about a year now since I moved to the Bay Area for my Brazilians. I recently moved to San Francisco and I still come all the way down to San Jose just for the waxes. All the aestheticians do a great job and keep great conversation to distract for the (very minimal compared to other places) pain. They are sanitary and use a new stick every time and take literally 10 minutes to do a near perfect job. I like all the girls there but Pai is my favorite! read more

First time ever waxing and it was the best a first time waxing experience could be. My initial email conversation was amazing. Amanda was super helpful. After confirming my appointment, all I had to do was wait until then. I went to my appointment early and filled out the paper work. Then waited to meet Pai and she was amazing. Super sweet. Super patient. And did a really great job. Not only on the waxing but helping me through the pain by talking and distracting me. Even though, I can only imagine that I was the less than perfect customer. Thank God for an awesome experience. It hurt a lot, but what would anyone else expect of my first time? I've been going to Ted D Bare for a Brazilian for over a year now. And I'm always on time for my appointments. This last time I was a little late ( by 8 mins) . And Gavi said she couldn't see me. I understand they are on 15 min windows and they have clients one after another. But I waited till 7pm ( when they close). I waited for an hour so they can squeeze me in somehow. Brazillian at this place takes no more than 7 mins. They are super fast. So even if they were fully booked. The fact that I waited for an hour, they could have seen me after their other clients or somehow squeezed me in. Gavi was totally inconsiderate. She didn't even apologize. She was down right mean. I get it they have a lot of bookings and clients but it won't kill them to once in a while go a little out of their way to be nice to a recurring client. This has left a terrible taste in my mouth and I'm never going back here every again. read more

Jane is a vindictive hypocrite. At first she seems nice, but after multiple years of seeing her, I've discovered the real Jane. I've been seeing Jane for many years, and have "always" arrived 15 minutes early to ensure she's not waiting on me. In September, my Boss called me into a meeting that conflicted with my appointment, and I immediately wrote early in the early morning, apologizing and letting her know that I needed to move my reservation (it was about 4.5 hours prior to my appointment). I received a message from Jane scolding me for "putting her in a bad position" and that she would have difficulty filling that slot to bring in revenue. I once again apologized. When I arrived for my next appointment, I met with Pai (great person), and I offered to pay for the last appointment, and she said it wasn't a big deal, and they were able to fill the slot, so they didn't lose any money. Flash forward to my next appointment - I arrive 15 minutes early as usual, and wait, and wait, and then about 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, Jane comes out and says "you didn't get my email?" I responded that I didn't receive any message. She said that she had to cancel my appointment, and that she couldn't take me in for another 2 hours, since she was back-to-back until 7:00 PM. She said that Pai had to leave and that caused problems with the schedule. I told her to forget it (as I couldn't wait that long on a Friday night). After thinking about this for a bit, I started to realize that this was worse than what I had done to her, and it was truly a waste of my time (driving there, waiting, then driving home - 2 hours total). I wrote to her in a professional manner, asking why I was not offered the courtesy that she wanted from their customers? I told her that I was disappointed. How can she scold me for giving them notice, and then turn around and not provide me with the courtesy of a phone call, text or email (I received none of that)? The next message I got really took the cake. Jane said that I should now find another waxer that is closer to my home. I've been blackballed! All because I asked for a courtesy notice of cancellation - something any business should provide. Can you say Vindictive-Hypocrite? read more
