If I could give Ted and his team more than 5 stars, I would. Over the years, we've had a few different plumbers come out to do some work, but no one stood out as outstanding so we did not have a regular plumber. A month ago, our downstairs bathroom and hallway flooded due to a cracked sewer pipe and blockage from root intrusion. We realized this would be a large job and dreaded finding the right team for the work. We had 3 plumbers come out to provide an estimate and the estimates were pretty high and recommended work that we weren't sure we even needed. Then our friend recommended Ted. Her parents and their realtor use him regularly for all their plumbing jobs. I figured it couldn't hurt to get a 4th bid. Ted came out with his son in the pouring rain and spent 1.5-2 hours to do a camera inspection and removed the clog. He also provided a temporary fix to prevent a clog until the actual cracked pipe could be worked on. He didn't bill us for this visit. Then his estimate came in well below the other estimates and included a larger scope of work. Needless to say, we went with Ted. For two full days, Ted's crew worked tirelessly, manually digging up the yard so public utilities wouldn't get damaged. Recently, a quite elderly neighbor had a need for a plumber to install replacement fixtures. On a trip to JC Plumbing, Tanner gave me the name of two reputable companies with Ted Soong being the owner of one. I gave my neighbor both business cards and passed along Tanner's high praise. Ted's plumbing did a great job with a previous fromy yard line leak. But when I called them back for another service (install new faucet and fix toilet) the tech left only having completed one of them. The tech said he could not remove my toilet and suggested I get a new one. Then I was charged for what seemed like both items. I emailed the company twice to get some clarification on the charges and no one responded. Called another local plumber, the tech was out next day and fixed the toilet for a fraction of what Teds charged me to install a faucet (that I supplied). All I can say is WOW! I had a clogged toilet about two weeks ago and when TO plumbing came in they found roots, took them out and then recommended a Free estimate on having a camera guy come out to make sure I don't have any other blockage. I didn't really think anything of it since I haven't had pluming problems before but I figured it might not be a bad idea to make sure all was good. Now looking back, I realize this was all a part of their scam plan! They came out and gave me a $40,000 quote to replace my entire plumbing! His camera footage showed me "breakage" in my plumbing and he said I had further roots! It seemed like he was just naming all these problems when all I really had was a clogged toilet with roots removal, which they charged $640 for and Ted's said it would have only been $240!!! TO plumbing was the most sales like visit and I could tell they were taking advantage. I had two other plumbers come out who quoted me half of what they were to charge but they both still said I need it replaced. Then I had Ted's plumbing come out who was referred by my really good friend. I told my friend that I felt people were coming over and taking advantage of me! When service people see a female they LOVE to take advantage of the situation! The owner of Ted's plumbing came out and ran a snake and said he didn't see a problem! He said he found one area that had some gunk in my sink so he cleared it out. The gunk was the same spot TO plumbing said I had "roots growing." He also found one small area where the pipe turns but said the chances of anything getting caught there or clogged there was very low. He said to leave everything as is and that my pipes were still ok! He said if he were to inspect this house he would say the plumbing is old but no defects were found! Can you believe it? I paid $170.00 bucks instead of $40,000! This goes to show you what a difference it makes to have honest people come and do work for you! I am so relieved! Ted and his team just finished a significant job in our primary bathroom. We chose to get additional bids as we found our long-term plumber's estimate to be a real Jaw dropper. This was a bit of a disappointment because we really liked them and their quality of work over the course of several large projects in the past two years. We found Ted to be extremely focused on the details and how to best deliver a high quality service in an efficient manner (he made a great impression on his visit to evaluate the project... probably put in 1.5 hours just to find our drains and assess the construction and existing plumbing before even talking about a bid) and his bid was extremely fair. This was a large job (finding drains, water lines, cutting the concrete, running pipes overhead to remove the risk of copper pipes in the slab, rough in two sinks, two shower heads and rain showers, remove a sink and remove and relocate tub water lines and drain) that was made even more difficult because of the remarkable amount of additional wall blocking/framing that our house appears to have throughout. Despite an obvious amount of additional work to provide the original scope of work, Ted did not adjust his original bid. This job also required a fair amount of coordination with our tile contractor, Tony Luna, who Ted had not worked with previously. Ted was in constant contact with Tony to ensure they were aligned regarding what was needed to support our design and to support Tony's installation. Ted's crew was very polite and professional. Shane and Ted work extremely well together and we appreciated the level of coordination and communication they provided. Ted's son, who is learning the trade, was also very polite and ensured Ted was aware of any developments if Ted was away from the job site. This was our first job with Ted and we are very pleased. Ted earned our trust. He will be coming back shortly to complete the finish plumbing and install tankless water heaters in our garage. Ted will also be who we call when we start our kitchen remodel later this year. We chose to work with Ted because of his attention to detail, his high level of professionalism and very reasonable pricing. My daughter and son-in-law needed a plumber. Not knowing any Plumbers JC Plumbing recomended that they use Ted's plumbing. They used Ted's and were very, very happy with them. Shortly after they used Ted's plumbing we had a major plumbing problem. I called two Billy's plumbing companies and Drain Solutions Plumbing, and then my kids told me about Ted's Plumbing. Now mind you, the other plumbers gave me estimates ranging from $11,000 & going to over $13,000. Ted came out to our house and checked everything out and told us that none of the things that we were told we needed to fix did actually need to be fixed. Ted and his crew are amazing! I had a horrible issue with my water heater and carbon monoxide. Ted moved his schedule around and was at home in no time to repair my old water heater. After realizing the old one was not cutting it, he installed a dynamic tankless water heater. He and his crew worked hard and moved a box/soffit in addition. Ted stream-lined the wall so NO pipes are sticking out. Ironically, in less than a week we needed him back for a shower leak! His crew came back and fixed that as well!
