I've gotten the larger size Manhattan clam chowder and the first time I didn't get many clams. It was mostly broth. I got it again thinking that it was just a 'bad scoop'....No, they raised the price (it's over $5 now) and this time I looked through thoroughly, I got one little tiny piece of clam. I'm not even exaggerating. What a rip off! At least this time I got more carrots, what a joke. Never again! I want a refund. I paid over 10$ for clam broth. Second time I ordered mini hot dogs within say a month or so, and the bun was ROCK HARD! I could knock on the thing. Not only the bun, but my hot dog was all shriveled up! Total disappointment for the second time, will not be going back and will urge others to do the same. read more

Had an amazing experience at TFF today! The fish was so fresh and melted in your mouth...and the serving was huge, to boot! The employee's were very hospitable and even brought my dog a snack and some water while we waited for our food. Will go back again soon!! read more

Food tasted great, but I ate so much that I felt like I was going to vomit. After eating my first meal I got up, went to the counter, and ordered another. This continued until my arms literally would not respond to my brains commands to lift the food to my mouth. That is why I felt like vomiting. Vomiting, however, would have been sweet relief from the horrible pain that over took my body for the next 20 plus hours. Eventually, once I felt better, I couldn't help from going back and doing it all over again. THATS HOW GOOD THEIR FOOD IS. I would definitely recommend this place, just be careful of how much and what you eat. read more

I'd have given Ted's 5 stars if their bathrooms were a bit cleaner. Yes, sketchy for sure, but who doesn't love a good fried fish stick In a bun. My personal favorite is the buffalo fish fry! They have a great variety of milkshakes too. Ted's is a regular stop for us on our way to Vermont. The wife and kids eat across the street at Subway for a healthier choice. Worth the stop! read more

Bleh. I had the fish and chips and wasn't very happy with my meal. Maybe we just went there on an off day, but the flavor wasn't very good. The wings were ok, so that added a star. This is the best fish fry in capitol land. I usually get two fish with chili sauce. This is salsa vegetable type chili sauce, not meat sauce. You can get it with tartar sauce if you like. These bad boys come in a hot dog bun and overhang each end by 2-3". Two of these and some onion rings and you're good to go.Ted's is always on the hit list when my travels take me back to the area. The cheeseburgers are everything you want in a slider. There is a lot of fried seafood to choose from. I always go back to the fish filet when it's time to order. Restroom was clean. The seating inside is all booths so if you've had a lot of this sort of food in the past it could be a tight squeeze. There are tables outside. You order at the window and take your food with you. I've been going to Ted's for over 35 years now. There will be many more returns. read more

Stopped on our way to Vermont at the Route 7 place. They had nice picnic tables in the back where we ate. Shared an order of fried clams and fries. The clams were okay. We didn't know what a fish fry (sandwich) was but Ted's seemed like a good road trip alternative to the usual fast food options. Turns out it's a long thin strip of battered fish on a bun, sticking out several inches on either side. Neat. Their default is chili sauce aka relish ketchup so if you want spicy add some hot sauce. Awesome fresh coleslaw with fresh parsley, tasty crispy fries. The calamari was good too. We'd go here again. read more

Ted's Fish Fry has been a favorite of mine for fried food since the mid 1960's. What originally got my attention were their coffee milk shakes. Then I discovered the burgers (sliders) served with a toasted bun and onion strands underneath the meat. Only then did I discover the fried fish in a hot dog bun with either or both tartar or chili sauce. It is very juicy. Be careful though: while the oil is extremely clean, it is HOT! read more

As an ex-employee of the Ted's on Hoosick, and being honest, I would say the food is great. The management has a lot to be desired. I quit working there because he simply can't make a schedule out for a full week. He puts it out the day before the employees are scheduled to work, and it is only a 3-4 day schedule. If you ask for a day off before he makes out a schedule, he then punishes you and only puts you once a week until he feels he has punished you enough. Employees get frustrated with him and quit. The owners are unaware of his poor management skills. His other work responsibilities are also delegated to his employees. Mind you these are ones that the owners expect him to do as the Manager. Long time Ted's fan, whether your in Watervliet, the Burgh, Brunswick or the new store on Wolf Rd. the quality is consistant! Ample portion of fish on a regular hot dog bun. Ted's is not the only game in the area, but is by far the most popular. The onion rings are real, not preformed from mush. One other thing, they seem to be able to keep their staff. The same people have been behind the counter in Brunswick for years now, says something about the ownership. read more
