I love this place. Yes, I knocked off a star because I am a pizza snob, and only two places in my mind could ever earn 5 stars for pizza. One is in New York City and the other is Little Italy (in Athens). That being said, the execution of our meal was nothing short of perfect. We ate the delicious Bacon and Egg pizza, a calzone with goat cheese in it (not sure the name) and a Spinach and Beet salad. We will be back for more! Well, after reading Yelp and hearing from a couple different sources that Ted's Most Best was a nice place to check out, a group of friends and I decided to head here for dinner tonight. It was definitely underwhelming. My boyfriend and I split a Bacon and Egg pizza, which was soggy and overly salty. I know, I know, if I didn't want salt I shouldn't have ordered a combo. of cheese, bacon, and fried egg, but salt was basically the only distinguishable flavor. My other friend had a calzone that he only ate half of because it was "not good." Keep in mind, this guy who ordered the calzone typically has a very healthy appetite and never has trouble cleaning his plate. My other friend who ordered a calzone said it was basically like eating a "ball of cheese." My other friend's pizza (the Sopressata) was not really crispy like you would expect an oven-fired pizza to be. The reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is the salads. I also split a goat cheese salad, which was fresh, but it was much smaller than all the other salads ordered by people at my table. My friend's chicken caesar salad did look good, if pretty basic. Oh, and the outdoor seating is really nice. It's spacious so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of other people. Bottom line: Probably won't be visiting Ted's Most Best again. read more

Pfft...more like Ted's Most Worst. Hated the sauce. No refills. Salad was meh. Small calzone for the price. Calzone was super greasy. More liquid in our calzone than in our drinks. Dessert ordering was confusing. Actual cheesecake was pretty good though. And there was an annoying kid who kept weirdly coming right up to our table and not saying a word...this isn't about the restaurant, but the parents. read more

I used to like this place but I ate there tonight and felt sick roughly 45 minutes after starting to eat (it was a calzone, which I'd previously enjoyed). My dining partner did not like their pasta. It'd been a while since I'd gone; either this place got a lot worse or they had a bad night. read more

Just ok. Nice server. Pesto was gross. Cost was good but it's just a small individual pizza.

Super delicious pizza and in a very fun atmosphere. The crust is very, very good and they know how to make really good pizza sauce. I just wish their pizza were even bigger! Very, very good stuff! read more

I think Ted's has gone downhill. I have been there quite a few times. I rated it as five stars at first. But the most recent times I have been there, the quality was just not as good. The salads are still good, the panini's okay, the pizza is now in my opinion not that good. The beer selection is still pretty good. In my opinion, there are better options in Athens now. read more

I love this place for happy hour. Sitting outside on their patio is wonderful. Unfortunately, I ordered their marinara pizza and it was the worst pizza I've ever had in my entire life. The sauce was baked into the pizza so it was almost completely dry and the garlic and oregano did little to help. It was also like ten dollars. They shouldn't have that on the menu if its going to be that terrible. read more

Great dog friendly patio- jake got a bowl of water & I got fresh Terrapin! The salad descriptions sounded amazing & they delivered on the small side salad & artichoke/goat cheese! I really liked this place. It was a sunny early spring day. I'd spent the morning walking all over Athens making pictures and I was hungry and thirsty and tired. It was also the last day of the Camper van Beethoven/Cracker Camp-in and my event pass got me into the band meet-n-greet at Ted's, right across from the 40 Watt. Thus it was that I found myself seated at a small metal table on a spacious patio contemplating the rich amber goodness of a Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin', while I tried to decide what I wanted on my pizza. When I lived in Athens Ted's was an old garage or something like that and it still has the big wide open garage doors and a bit of an industrial chic feel. The inside is pleasant and spacious but if you can, sit outside. It's a really comfortable, pleasant patio, and has lots of room and it is a great place to enjoy one or four of their nice selection of beers. I read on their website that it was created by some folks from The Grit and that shows in the attention to the food. The menu is very simple. Some appetizers, some salads, some sandwiches, and a brief pizza menu. The pizza is wood fired and they manage to do this effectively. The crust is crispy and has a hint of wood fire taste to it but there was not a bit of burned crust in sight. I started off with half a Caesar salad which, although not as garlicky as I usually like, could absolutely not be faulted. The lettuce was fresh, the ciabatta croutons were crunchy, and the salad was perfectly dressed (ie, not too much dressing, not too little, and the dressing was put on after I ordered it). My seatmate ordered the veggie panini and spent his entire meal with a look of bliss on his face. My other seat mate ordered a white pizza (about which she is very particular) and ate the whole thing like she thought someone might try and take it away from her. Oh, and for my pizza? I ended up going with a "make your own" with artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and mushrooms and that ended up being exactly the right choice. read more

Ted's Most Best is not the best, but it's pretty most. Ted's gets a 3.5 leaning towards 4 for the ambiance, generally cool digs, and tasty menu items. I got the spinach & beet salad the first time I went, and a soppressata (salami!) with peppers pizza the second time. The salad was better (and giant), but the pizza was still enjoyable. The "personal" sized pizzas are a lot of food for lunch (too much for me), but I'll try a different salad when I go back! read more

Delicious pizza, thinner crust. I love the arugula pizza + marinated mushrooms. My boyfriend got the perello with the most delicious prosciutto. I've never had a bad pizza here. Their salads, soups, and desserts are also amazing! Sometimes the line to order at the counter gets long, but it's worth it! Plenty of seating indoors and on their nice patio. I did enjoy the pizza, the pricing was a little much for your normal college kid, $20 for four slice pizza, some bread and two beers. Luckily I am not in college anymore and that's probably why a majority of the people there were probably older. However, I did love the people watching from the outside seating. It's always nice to sit in Athens and just watch the people. I think it's a great place to bring the kids, especially with the sandbox outside. I do wonder how many times they have to add new sand or change it out due to animals or kid accidents though. read more

We saw this restaurant as we were walking through Athens. We decided to give it a try and I am very glad we did! When you enter you smell the fragrance of Northern style hoagies. My husband had the Italian and he loved it. I had the artichoke salad which was very good as well. The decor is very industrial and the whole place is light and bright. read more

I have been a regular customer here for the past 2 years I've been in Athens and the pizza has always been amazing. So, always having a great experience, I decided to try something new. Ordered the Italian and meatball sub and they were disgusting. Not a single aspect of any part of either sandwich was subpar. The Italian came without any of the dressing it said it would have on it. I wish they would just remove these items from the menu to save future customers from ordering something so gross. STICK TO PIZZA AND REMOVE ALL SUBS FROM THE MENU! read more

Ted's Most Best is a great addition to the downtown Athens dining scene. On a recent trip back down memory lane, we visited this new spot that opened this summer by duo Jessica Greene and Jay Totty of The Grit. Unlike The Grit, Ted's Most Best includes meat in a simple menu of artisan pizzas, paninis and salads. The restaurant features housemade desserts, a great outdoor patio space and of course a wide selection of beer and wine. If you want to skip the outdoor patio, inside sports an industrial-like feel with high ceilings and exposed steel beams. We got the: Baked Goat Cheese marinated in olive oil with parsley, marjoram and Italian style bread crumbs and baked in the oven, served with mix greens and Luna Baguette bread, $6.50; Bacon & Egg with tomato sauce, mozzarella, thinly sliced pancetta, and topped with a fresh egg and fresh herbs, $7.95; Perrella with tomato sauce, mozzarella, goat cheese, prosciutto, fresh garlic, and fresh herbs, $7.95; Sopressata with tomato sauce, mozzarella, cherry peppers, and sopressata, $7.95. Alexa raved about the delicious Baked Goat Cheese in the salad and kindly gave everyone a nibble. Fran loved the runny egg yolk on the Bacon & Egg pizza- I always say an egg makes it better! Trish and I quickly gobbled down the Perrella and Leslie really enjoyed her slightly spicy sopressata and took some of it home. With so many chain pizza restaurants dominating our little college town, it's nice to see a restaurant churning out handcrafted, thin, artisan pizza. I wish a place like Ted's had opened when I was still an undergraduate at UGA- especially with their everyday happy hour from 3 - 6pm ($1 off draft Beer including Lagunitas Doppelweiss, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Terrapin Rye, and Stella Artois; $1 PBR; $1 off glasses of wine and $5 off bottles of wine). We just happened to stumble across this awesome place after a gymnastics meet at the classic center. Wandered in with a bunch of little girls and their parents. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating.. Not to mention the food was perfect ! I just wish there was one closer to my home in Johns Creek. read more

Oh man, I think I'm in love. The baked goat cheese salad is nothing short of delicious, the pizzas are top-notch, the portions are generous, and the menu is reasonably priced. I've tried a few of the set pizzas on the menu, but the make-your-own option has become my favorite. Because really... where else in Athens can you add a fried egg to the top of your za?! Some bocce ball with some beer or wine is great with friends in the evening. I brought a bottle of wine there the weekend they opened, and they didn't have a problem with it. I really wanted this place to be good. The space is wonderful, with exposed brick and steal beams throughout and a comfortable patio outside. I found the staff to be kind and welcoming. The pizza was a different story however. I had the bacon and egg pizza which sounded really intriguing. The egg was very runny and not sunny side up runny. The yolk was cooked and the egg wites were not. Not sure how that happens... the pizza was entirely way too salty, the bacon tasted like prosciutto. Ted's has an awesome patio that is huge and pet friendly! Their food is amazing and so is their beer and wine prices during Happy hour. I love going to Ted's because I can bring my dog and sit outside and drink beer. The ingredients are fresh and the atmosphere is really cool. read more
