Everything happens for a reason. I say that because our intention was to have dinner at Taco Bell for Taco Tuesday, but the lobby was closed. On the way back to the car to order via the drive thru Tee Sud caught my eye across the street and thank yummy goodness it did. But don't let me get ahead of myself. We decided to cross the busy street and see what they were all about. Lucky for us there was a parking spot right in front, but even if there wasn't, plenty of parking was available. We were immediately greeted once we walked in and I've got to say, their attentiveness continued through the duration of our experience with them. As soon as we enterered we were pleasantly surprised at the actual size. It is much bigger than depicted on the outside. The style is simple & clean yet with a touch of Asian decor. We could see into the kitchen, the counter where the servers gathered, the dining area as well as the, what seemed to look like, a very well stocked bar. Everything was transparent, from the atmosphere to the service and ultimately the food. Ahhh...The food. It was delicious (as you'll see in my pics). The flavor was fresh, the portions good sized and extremely well presented. My hubby ordered Thai Iced Coffee which was the perfect sweetness along with the delicious flavor of Thai coffee. The owner was very kind and, although we wanted almost everything on the menu, urged us to just pick a few and come back to try the others. At first I thought that he was being a little presumptuous, but after our meal we found ourselves already thinking about what we would try next time. And of course, if you follow my reviews, a restaurant is only as good as its restroom is clean. I am pleased to say that, just like the rest of the restaurant, the facilities were clean, simple and we'll stocked. Bravo to the family owned Tee Sud. Food was amazing every time I've been. The banana roti lives in my mind rent free and I don't even like banana flavored things. It was very filling and not like other roti desserts. The quality of the chicken also sets them apart from standard chicken wings. My husband and I have been here 7 times in a month and we keep wanting to come back for more. Each time, we always get the wings and a couple new dishes. Over our experiences there, we have gotten the drunkard noodles, ginger chicken rice, pad thai, street noodles, sweet spicy seafood soup, primitive northern soup, papaya salad, 17th street curry fried rice- all are full of flavors and each have a sweet, salty, zesty edge! This place is one of those undiscovered gems that you hope someone tells you about. There are so many Thai or Teriyaki places around that one more place just kind of blends in to the scenery. We heard from a friend about this place and decided to check it out. The owner whose name is Earth, welcomed us and proceeded to tell us a little about the place. Heard good things about this place. So, I ordered the turmeric curry chicken since it sounded so appealing from the description. Asked for no spice since my stomach's really sensitive to it. When I took it home, it smelled really good: had two pieces of boneless thighs and two big chunks of potatoes. But once I took a bite, spice was through the roof! I ended up throwing it away because I could not handle the spice. I've had one star and two star Thai food at other establishments, but this was not one or two as it was more like a 5. The bar is curated with specialty liquors you cannot find elsewhere. They make excellent signature cocktails. The food is unlike any Thai I have tasted. This is THE most legit Thai restaurant within 10 miles. More than just the best food, and it is THE best, they also provide the best service, hands down, of any restaurant within 20 miles. Prove me wrong. ...and they have wonderful hand crafted bar drinks, AND a happy hour from 2-5. If you've seen my reviews, you know I only write two kinds: those for the exceptional, and those who you need to avoid. It privately pains me to reveal this secret wonder in my own back yard (because it might mean I have to go early or late to get a seat now), but this is more than a restaurant, it is truly worth experiencing, and I can't imagine how they are not overrun long past closing with takeout orders, and full tables. This is a restaurant I will be back to regularly, my former favorite Thai spot nearby has now been displaced. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu... And I was told last night it rotates, so you'll always have something new and exciting and fresh on the bar menu, and always have fresh, never frozen ingredients cooked to order in your appetizer or meal. I have no more words other than to say this is THE place to take your date, your friends, and family for a great meal with people what really care about you being taken care off right, so long as you aren't an a___ole to them or their staff, as it should be. An owner who takes care of his staff and they live working for him? This is the place, and it shows. Meeting the chef, and the washer as they kindly allowed me to finish my noodles and mussels and enjoy a good conversation with them? Who does that? This is that place. Take care of them, order out, visit. I want to be going here for years, they deserve it. Yes, this was my first visit. No, I have never met any of them before. The regular place was closed at 8:30 PM (on a Saturday night! Does no one stay open to serve food anymore?), and the pictures at the remaining places closing soon were less than desirable. ....and then I saw the pictures of the food at this place, called to confirm I didn't need to order takeout, versus sit down, and got there in time to order. The pictures are great, but don't do justice to the reality, can't convey how delicious and succulent and fresh and steaming and fragrant and beautiful they were. This was absolutely one of the favorite places I've been in a while. It's not "cheap" food, it's high quality, well made and presented food. It is similar priced to the "typical" establishments, but this is not the typical place, and is far better than you'll get anywhere I've found in the area I've mentioned.
