Tejas is such a cute little restaurant with an awesome ambiance. Very chill, very laid back. Every time I'm there I feel relaxed and happy to be eating out. Their food is awesome, I definitely recommend their queso. The service is always quick, professional, and done with a smile. I would take a star off just because at sunset it's intensely bright in the restaurant, to the point it's struggling. But this is something they can't control so I won't fault them for it :) read more

How freakin cute is this place!!!! The food was fantastic as well. Very good drinks and they have a dj some nights there as well.

This place ain't it!! 1.5 hours for a table even though they had about only half of the tables occupied and I highly doubt they were all reserved. Ended up at the back bar outside. Was $14 and change for a frozen marg. not worth it at all. Veeeery sweet and didn't taste good. The only thing this place has going for it is the decor. read more

We've been here once before and had a great experience. This was much less so...took forever to get drinks, have our order taken and then receive our food. Restaurant was not busy, so not sure what the issue was. Food was decent, but over priced. Probably our last visit. read more

The food smelled great and the bartenders and servers were friendly. I only stopped by for two frozen margaritas to-go during the bazaar street fair, and it was disappointing that they were just acid reflux in a bag. The triple sec mix needs to be updated. Hope to give the food a try sometime but I'll be passing on the margaritas. read more

Pricey in my opinion. The drinks were okay however the guacamole was very fresh & delicious. For better/faster service sit inside.

I had pretty high hopes for this spot but sadly it's just another one of those Dallas restaurants that is super cute from the outside with subpar food. The service was excellent and very fast but it still didn't make up for how mediocre the meal was. I got the taco plate and both tacos had stale tortillas and the smallest sides of rice and beans I've ever seen. The churros were slightly better and the only thing I would recommend from what I saw on the table. It's a cute spot for sure and perfect for Instagram, but I wouldn't recommend it for high quality meals. read more

Drinks and food was great. 4/5 Atmosphere 3/5 Here's a few things that would make this place a 5. 1) acoustics, there are none. Very loud. Too loud to have a conversation. Couldn't hear the music either. 2) sunshine, the sun came through the clear story windows during the entire meal before sunset. We had to wear sunglasses at the table. The sun also reflected off the sealed concrete floor. 3) service was slow. Had to wave down the waitress multiple times. IMHO, bar service was hopping and seemed better. I'm not super into texmex, but this place does it right. Went here for 2 birthday dinners and man, the people in charge and the employees make you feel seen and super special. This place has a great location and ambiance with plenty of seating and is friendly to all customers. They have a wide selection of mixed drinks and beverages for you to choose from. The place feels family owned but also has the polish and class that you'd expect from a shop in Bishop Arts. The menu is streamlined but features a wide enough array of choices that everyone will find something they will seriously enjoy. I normally get the veggie tacos and pair them with their green salsa. They have even included options for vegans and vegetarians with their Beyond Meat entrees. The past few times we have been, we have also ordered the queso and a side of curly fries before our meals - this is a non-negotiable must have. Other than the vegan meat options, the menu doesn't stray too far from traditional Mexican cuisine. The buñuelos and cajeta are a delicious and sweet touch to the menu. Next time you're in Bishop Arts, this is a great place to swing by for a meal or snack! read more

The servers are so nice and friendly. Tory is one of my favorites in the restaurant. She is so sweet that I have renamed the prickly pear lemonade with sweetener the Tory lemonade! I keep coming back to check in with Tory and for the chips and salsa! It's the best... I shared some with a person and they enjoyed them so much! The chicken quesadilla and enchiladas are mouthwatering good. Give them a try! You won't be disappointed. Tejas would be 5 stars but they always act like there are no seats available without a reservation! Half of the restaurant is empty. Let's stop acting so elite in the Bishop Arts district that you can't walk up and get a seat inside the restaurant. Even when I made a reservation for a birthday dinner, we still ate outside! We recently enjoyed a quick bite at Tejas on the patio. The staff was so incredible and very quick, and the food was so tasty! We ordered the queso to start with and I had the crunchy beef taco. I come to Tejas at least 3 times a week and I each time I genuinely enjoy myself. The staff here goes the extra mile to ensure I have a great time! The cocktails are amazing and the food is always up to par. Leslie and Marcus are the best! Whether they're our server or not they take the time to stop by and check on me. The manager Gerald always has an upbeat spirit and makes each person feel seen. It's obvious he loves his job and staff and they do a great job! Tejas is a must try! read more

The manager has a wonderful attitude and is very attentive of the entire restaurant, I love eating in such a well taken care of establishment. Our server Jasmine was very kind and attentive she recommended the TexMex railway and Frozen Paloma both tasted wonderful (Frozen Paloma had just a tad bit more alcohol ) She also recommended the ceviche and it was a perfect appetizer. I ate the steak fajitas it was seasoned perfectly my friend had the Brisket and Queso enchiladas tasted as great as it looked! Overall 10/10 will be back very soon! The bishop arts district has grown SO MUCH the last time I've been here ... it's been a couple of years. New shops and restaurants really let you make a whole day of it. This place.. wow! They have traded great food for overpriced dishes that look fancy but taste awful. Drinks r outrageously overpriced. I ordered the chicken enchilada plate. 2 enchiladas with a little chicken and lots of sauce, the cilantro lime rice that used to be really good barely has any taste at all. My husband ordered a taco plate. The inexperienced help brought him a single taco. That's it! $93 later for queso appetizer, 4 house margaritas, an enchilada plate( 2 with beans and rice) and a single beef taco, we left and won't be returning. read more

Don't pass this place by just because you can't see how awesome it is from the outside. When we walked in, we were immediately welcomed by the pleasing and colorful aesthetic. The teal velvet benches especially caught my eye. I loved the mix of the rose colors and all the plants, kind of like an earthy boho vibe!! OK besides all of the beauty of the space, the food was incredible. The salsa was like a garlic explosion in my mouth... perfect amount of spice. The chips were thick and seasoned perfectly. The Paloma margarita was DELICIOUS And I highly recommend the mushroom poblano enchiladas!! Jasmine took great care of us, and she was excellent. We will definitely be back. read more

Two stars because the food/beverage was good (food especially), but the service was truly horrendous. After being seated for our reservation, I had to find someone to let them know we had waited another 20 min and had not yet been helped. We ordered drinks, queso, and entrees together - the food did come out promptly, but we again had to find someone to request water refills. Our drinks took close to 40 minutes, and were only received because I walked up to the bar to ask (we could see them sitting there). Truly the most atrocious service I've ever had. The server was minimally apologetic, and yes we were charged for the drinks that took 40 minutes and arrived after our meals were finished. Omg, I'm sitting here in the restaurant full and content! I got the Done Right(er) burger and 1 brisket taco and a Topo for $12.95. The burger is small, but filling, as it has a good amount of fixings to it. The taco was good, not amazing, but good. Came to bishop arts district with my family looking for something new. My dad found this place and we all went with it. My sister and i tried all four of the breakfast tacos they had to offer and felt underwhelmed by the taste although the presentation and sides of cilantro lime rice and beans were by far the highlight of our plate. My dad on the other hand got the tejas taco (on the recommendation of the waitress) and gave me some and i must say they were way better than what i ordered. All things considered i wouldn't say it's a little pricey but if you're willing to pay the extra amount for the scenery, presentation, good service and to me the good ingredients it's worth it to stop by and try it. read more

Everything I've had here is very good. Bacon egg potato cheese taco was the best! The potatoes are actually hash browns which were a pleasant surprise. Avo bean taco was good but not great. A little plain but good for kids. Curly fries taste like jack n the box but better, fresher, and with a hint of lime flavor. Chips and queso are bomb! Their habanero salsa is my fave of all the salsas. Try it if you like spicy! Always get the flour tortillas. Their draft cocktails are tasty and boozy and only $6! It's like happy hour all day there! Came here my first time a few months ago and the food was greasy, there was a cockroach crawling on the floor, and the waitress literally came to our table and told us all about how much she hates working there. Didn't get a refill on water and she left to flirt with a guy at another table for a long time. We gave it another chance and went and the hostess and waitress had bad attitudes -- our waitress was different but said the exact same thing as the last one about hating working there so I'm assuming bad management. Whole staff seems to have bad attitudes. Also food was very grease again -- don't get their quesadillas. read more
