1st visit, was curious to try their crab legs and shrimp...and they have a Monday night special on crab legs! Bonus! Location is new and large, and has a really nice patio on the back. Ordering process is like a fast food place, so take a minute to review the menu before you get in line. Looks like they have a daily special too, and some of these are smoking deals -- 1 lbs of crab legs for $24? Don't mind if I do... I ordered crab legs and added peeled shrimp. The food is served in to-go style containers, but they are loaded. Mine had at least 4 or 5 full leg clusters, potato and corn on the cob. It was lightly seasoned, not overly spicy. They have additional spices (mild and hot) and hot sauce you can add if you'd like. Overall, I thought it was pretty good. Crab was fresh and steamed properly, corn was perfectly steamed and the potato was soft and buttery. I wish they offered it in a bag with sauce like other crab spots, but that's just what I prefer...this was still good...and the price point was great for what you get. The owner doesn't appear to respond to the negative reviews. The butter for the crab was solid, the corn and potatoes lacked seasoning. Don't go if you're hoping for a traditional seafood boil. There was a boy who seemed to be 8-10 years old bussing tables. It was clean though. read more

Extremely friendly environment, staff is so nice! Not a sit down restaurant but when our beeper went off an employee was nice enough to get our food. Great food, excited for the salads to come out! OMG! We really enjoyed our experience! First, love the decor and reading several verses of scripture on the wall. It's rare to see that and had me admiring their courageous display of faith and indicated the moral compass and core values of the restaurant. It was nice to have a spiritual moment of reflection as we waited for our pager to alert us our food was ready to be picked up at the counter. The Boudin Balls were sooo delicious. I've tasted this one other time elsewhere and didn't like them so I was pleasantly surprised how addictive these were. A nice crisp exterior, not too much rice filling, paired with a really tasty remoulade sauce. Initially, hubby was not expecting to be impressed by the Shrimp Po'boy bc the ones he's eaten in Dallas and Arlington weren't as good as what he remembered having in New Orleans many years ago. He said this is "the best Po'boy I've had since New Orleans." This is coming from a man who typically describes dishes as "It's ok." My mom and I ate the Shrimp Étouffée which was excellent! I was really happy to see how generous the portion was especially the sauce and that they didn't skimp on the protein. It was well seasoned, flavorful, and had a really nice kick to it. Most cajun places don't hit the mark with their seasonings. This was perfect! There was plenty of smoky sausage and tender shrimp that lay nestled in a thick, dark, rich, velvety sauce over a bed of rice. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and the sweet pop of corn added a nice balance to the dish that was satisfying and had us vowing to return. Everything was reasonably priced too making it a great value that won't break the bank and where quality meets affordability. They left off my hush puppies for a 20$ large combo meal in drive through. Fries were mushy but the fish was good.

The food is not Louisiana quality. The gumbo roux was burnt and the cook in back knew it but served it anyway. I really think when people say Cajun most think if I add cayenne pepper and season salt it's Cajun. But that cooking starts with love not a substitute cat fish that was cooked this morning to get it on a plate fast. The atmosphere was great almost made me feel like back home. But as for me and my family it will be our last visit. I love paying for good food but this one missed the mark. read more

Honestly we were very pleasantly surprised. I expected very high prices and it was very affordable for a family to eat. We had the slap daddy with the shrimp and crab legs, a grilled shrimp plate and the blackened chicken. The slap daddy fed 3 kids and had a few shrimp left over! And that chicken was unbelievably juicy! I think I'd get more grilled shrimp next time as well because that was a crowd fav. The outside has a very cute little area to sit on a patio with little turtle-feeder spots and another area to hang outdoors off the patio with games. And to top it off, the people working were all absolutely wonderful and kind. They actually noticed a mix-up with our order before we did after we sat down. Then they immediately fixed it. Absolutely phenomenal!!!!! We had 2 Lobster tail plate and side of alligator. So much food!! We shared the one plate and still had left overs. Tried the beignets too. Absolutely all amazing. Best fried shrimp I've found this far away from the coast. Simple menu may be too limited for some but if you love fried shrimp, this will not disappoint. The fries and hush puppies were great too. Not a huge fan of styrofoam boxes instead of plates but they are keeping their prices down by doing so. Service was friendly as well. read more

It is a very cute restaurant. I love the Bible verses on the wall. My husband and I really wanted to be able to give a score of 5, but I think when the food was fried the grease wasn't up to temperature. The fried mushrooms were mushy. First time there I walk in clean nice atmosphere. You enter the order line and there are menus in a plastic folder. They have four lunch specials, I got #4. it was ok. I was sitting near the counter. I noticed there seemed to be a lot of confusion behind the counter with prep food. A server came over to my table to ask what number I had. I was trying to read the menu on the wall above the counter. even though it was big it still was hard to read the menu. It was to high. It should be eye level and on the left side as you come in so you could review the menu. we waited about 20 mins. before my buzzer sounded. The tables are nice but space between the wood on the table is a nuisance. The little packs of condiments fell through. Food was so so. my wife got blacken fish with a potatoe and corn on the cobb The fish was so thin you could see through it, also very salty! I got combo, fish pices,small fried shrimp and fries. I have been 3 times .... I had the Slap your Daddy dish, shrimp n fish basket and red beans. You order at the counter and then they bring it to you. One of my friends had one of the steamed shrimp dishes - also very good. The improvements I would suggest ... have some horseradish available.... The last time I took my own spicy cocktail sauce. They need either a bar or allow BYOB. Also, the red beans n rice would do well with fresh green onions on top and served with good cajun bread. We had the boudin balls, shrimp etouffe, and gator plate. I'll start with the good. I thought the hush puppies were nice, I liked the batter on the hush puppies and fries. The gator and the batter on it was tasty. We sat outside on the patio which was nice and the weather was nice. I did not enjoy the shrimp etouffe, the rice was clumped together in balls and it felt like the rice was overcooked with too much water. The sauce was more of a soup than sauce. It felt like I was eating gumbo with way too much rice. The boudin balls were dry. I really like hush puppies so I may come back through drive thru to get a few when I feel snacky. read more

When we left we had our trays and tried to bring them in since we sat outside and although as lol the workers including the owner sat at a table with several workers,, not one stood up to help us figure out where to put our tray while trying to balance our plates and bottles., I finally told my friend we're not paid to clean tables set it down !No customer service !! I had the beignet's and all I can say is Ya Buddy! Drizzle some sauce on it mmm hmmm! I've been talking like I am from bayou ever since. Get out and get some Tejun! Went before the grand opening it was great. Quality of the food was good. Food tasted good. Good price for what you got. Went on 12/31 and it was a big disappointment. Couldn't believe I paid $32 for the worst boil. Couldn't believe it didn't come with any sausage. That was shocking. The seafood was terrible. The Shrimp was like frozen already cooked shrimp. Tiny and had no flavor, over cooked. Crab legs was the smallest cluster no meat at all and were defective. Meaning the legs seemed to be so low end quality legs had already been cracked in some places and again over cooked and no flavor. I would have been better going to H‑E‑B and get a steam boil from them it would have been better. Only thing I can report that was good about the entire meal was the hush puppies. Same great fast and quality. Also good cocktail sauce. Sad but won't be back for a long time. Gave 2 stars based on my 1st experience. read more

After 6 times in , time for review. Started off as most soft openings, good but could be improved. Second visit small issue was fixed and food has been made ro order, up to standards regardless eating in or carrying out. Friendly staff, orders have come out quickly food prepared to correct standards and request. Great value for the price. Since Tejun Restaurant's opening in Keller, TX we had been happy with the food the first 5-6 times we dined there. Tonight was a different story as the French fries were not crisp and the hush puppies were extremely small & tough(?) which we have never experienced before. Even the shrimp was tough. Overall, the meal did not taste fresh. This restaurant started out with a great response from the community, but is going to lose customers quickly if they do not regain control. We did not mind the 10 minute wait as we expected the food to be hot and fresh, but after delivery that expectation was not met. read more

I went for lunch with my colleagues on opening day. The food was absolutely delicious! The potatoes was cooked perfectly (not too mushy) and absolutely drenched in butter the way it should be. The shrimp was cooked properly, and the service was phenomenal. The food was so good I brought my family back the next day for lunch. This time we ordered a side of biegnets to share and I ate them myself. Then my husband ordered a side to share and he ate them all. So freaking good. If you are expecting seafood boil, this place in NOT it. They serve everything in to go containers, even when you are dining in. We ordered 1 lb shrimp, 1 lobster tail with red sauce and butter sauce and the red sauce turned out to be cocktail sauce in container and everything in to go boxes. We also ordered Crawfish boiled and they gave it to us in a small container to go already peeled. I am very disappointed since it is the first Cajun restaurant in the local area. When being asked how to make it right, they offered a desert after spending $70.00 on two people dinner and it was not to our expectations. read more
