Do you see all this food.

Hey how you doing need a good cooked fried catfish basket with shrimp and well seasoned okra. Or better yet an oyster Po' Boy wrapped nice In a soft bun with fresh veggies. The service top notch with a warm smile and the vibes is eat, laugh and sing.

Fast friendly tasty Cajun in NRH! Food was good! Love the inside. Feels like a boathouse. Cafe style ordering. Food was brought out in good amount of time. Be warned Portions are big. The Jambalaya looks plain, but was full of flavor. I cannot recommend hard enough to get the Boudin egg rolls! Just do it. It's a lot though, share or make it your meal. Or just take it home. So good. Happy to find this place!

Not sure where are these high ratings are coming from. I don't think it's from the people who eat here because when I walked in, I saw a table with 75% of the food left sitting on the table. No togo, just left a whole filet of the fish of the day and the boudin ball completely untouched and left the restaurant. This place is okay, order at the front and wait to get your food, but sauces are behind the counter and doesn't come with the meal, you have to grab it yourself and wait like 5 minutes. Sometimes they get busy so I recommend grabbing the sauces before your food gets out. Food was okay, very average, nothing special. Over priced fried seafood and dry sandwiches. Okra was barely battered, oysters and fish okay. Shrimp was the best thing we ordered. Gumbo was alright, not a single piece of chicken in my chicken and sausage gumbo. Customer service was okay, I asked about the crawfish and she said they didn't have any.... Didn't tell me about Fat Tuesday or whatnot.

We went on a Saturday at noon to grab a bite. You head to the counter and place your order. At the end of the order counter is the drink area. You fan get a fountain drink, beer on tap or a frozen drink. They are finishing up construction on their patio so we grabbed a seat right inside the front entrance. Staff is on their game bringing food asking if we need refills. Place is clean and festive w8th lots of Mardi gra themed items on the wall. This was a great place with great food. The only downer was the mushy hushpuppies.

Exactly as advertised. Super fun place - order up at counter then grab a table and they bring You the food. Decor is true to the experience. Rolls of paper towels on every table. Buckets for discards. Place was packed and buzzing. Food was good!!! Crawfish were tasty, poboys too. We tried a couple apps which were really good like the meat pies and boudin balls. Seafood gumbo was ok - super salty. We will be back. You can also buy some Louisiana ingredients there Including frozen crawfish!!

Cocodrie's was pretty good! Did the food taste like it would straight out of New Orleans, no, but I wasn't mad at it! It's also a more cost effective option than going to Pappadeaux. I tried the crawfish etouffee and the catfish basket. My etouffee was really delicious and it came out piping hot and quickly. The catfish was good and cooked thoroughly but I wish it had been cooked hard. Iykyk. If I pick my catfish strip up, I dont want it to fall apart. Maybe a personal preference but if I ever order it from there again, I will be sure to specify that. Others in my party had chicken strips, redfish (I believe?), okra, and something with shrimp. Everyone was happy with their meals. Prices weren't bad, and the service was top tier. Cute, quaint restaurant. No frills. I will definitely go again.

Gumbo was delicious!! Just needed to be warmer.

Wow. The Gumbo... It could have been hotter temperature wise. It was just barely warm on a cold day. But the flavor was delicious. You could taste the file. I added Tabasco. Fried okra was hand battered and delicious so thank you. Fried catfish were tiny so more batter than fish. That mustard dip was out of this world. We split the fried sampler platter enough for 2 people for $20. We dipped everything in that delicious mustard sauce. It was not sweet! Just savory and so incredible. All in all the people that work here are very friendly and very accommodating. We will come back to try the blackened red fish!! Maybe just heat up that delicious gumbo more and give us some fat catfish.

Cajun cuisine that is authentic. NRH has a winner with this restaurant. The ordering process begins at the counter. Above the cashier large backlit signs facilitate quick selections. We were greeted by the owner Jesse Gibson. His warm smile and welcoming spirit adds to the experience. He was very helpful in explaining the menu choices and terrific suggestions made a difference on our first visit. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Started with the Shrimp & Okra Gumbo With rice. A second Gumbo with rice and potato salad was very tasty. Shrimp & Jalapeno Boudin Balls are a must. Oyster basket with hush puppies was a nice addition. Already planning our next epicurean delight! Those of us with real Louisiana roots can attest to the accuracy of his recipes. My one request is to add a location in Plano ( closer to me ). I highly recommend this restaurant. Add this to the top of your must try list. See you there

First try, not bad at all. We're native to the gulf (of MEXICO) area, so we know our Cajun food for folks living way up in the DFW area. This place is pretty unique, for this area at least. The atmosphere is fitting for the Cajun feel. This building is pretty dated, big old throwback architecture, but that's a good thing for that bayou feel. I don't know how may restaurants have been in this place over the decades, but this is the best fit. There's plenty of staff so service was quick and friendly. The food (specifically the seasoning/technique of the fried items) is different than we're used to. Most of the gulf Cajun we've had is in the west side of the state, which I suspect is Texas-influenced. The batter-crust we're used to is lighter brown, sort of "blonde" and crispy. The battered items here are much darker, almost like a dark roux but in crust form. It's milder to the taste than it appears. It's especially not so overly-salty as we're used to either, which is a good thing. And it's not as crispy, it's cooked more (for lack of a better description) "corn-meal-ish". Not better, not worse, just different, unique. And the portions were good. The place is counter service, and food's brought to the table, refill your own drinks. That is frankly my favorite style restaurant layout. And their refill center is stocked nice and clean, another focal point of mine. A restaurant's restroom and drink center are key markers for me, and this place is no disappointment. I got a catfish po-boy, and it was pretty good. The flavor of all the items was good. What I wasn't used to (and may have not preferred) is the style of bread. Typically, seafood po-boys would have a harder, crustier bread, like a french baguette, and not cut completely in half but with a "pocket" or at least like a taco, connected at the side to actually "contain" the contents. This place cuts their bread completely like a traditional sandwich, and the bread is (pleasantly) soft, but perhaps a wee bit "too" soft. The thing is, sandwich bread either needs to be soft because the contents are tougher, or the bread needs to be the tough part because the contents are soft. In this po-boy, both the contents AND the bread are soft, so the texture felt a little unfamiliar and "nice seafood sandwich, but not a po-boy?" texture. The boudin balls were good, the same "dark batter crust" style, kinda filling for an appetizer. I didn't realize they'd have shrimp tails in them, so they actually came off more like "stuffed shrimp with boudin filler" than "boudin balls", imo. I'll be more careful to order actual boudin links next visit, and I'm interested to see how theirs comes out. The best item we had was wifey's seafood gumbo (sorry, no pic). Seasoned good, not overly-salty, good assortment of items, tasted great. It's made me interested to have their red beans and rice next visit, since usually places will succeed/fail these two in the same way (like a test item). Which lead wifey and I to conclude, it seems like this place is best for "bowl items". So, we can't wait for the cold weather to eat here with. Anyway, we'll be back for sure. Recommended for sure.

I found this restaurant one day and gave them a shot and me and my wife have nothing but great things to say about this place. This is the BEST Cajun food in the metroplex from a restaurant. We have almost tried everything now and not one item was bad. This place is definitely going to blow up with time. The customer service here is by far the best as well, everyone is welcoming and helpful. I've been here over 10x now over the past 4 months and I can say customer service and the food is the same every time! Give the restaurant a try and I promise you'll be coming back. 10 out of 10 Highly Recommend!

This place currently has a high rating, but unfortunately that was not our experience at all. We came in around 5:00 pm on a Thursday, and they were already out of several menu items, which was not a great start for a new restaurant. It's a walk-up ordering setup, and they bring the food to your table -- but once the food was dropped off, no one checked on us again. My son ordered a Caesar salad that was completely soggy and overdressed to the point that he wouldn't eat it. We ordered Natchitoches meat pies (one crawfish, one beef), but honestly couldn't tell them apart by taste. We ordered cold shrimp dip, which was bland and flavorless. It came with fried bowtie pasta that was impossible to bite through. We took it back and they gave us tortilla chips instead. It was just nasty and we left it. The étouffée was the only decent item flavor-wise, but it was very oily and completely broken, and we left more than half of it untouched.. We saw three staff members working, plus the person at the counter, yet no manager ever checked on us, even after we sent food back for being overcooked and inedible. This easily could have been a 2-star review if management had acknowledged the issues. Unfortunately, the lack of follow-up sealed the one star. They did have the CFP playoff pre-game on, but there was no one else in the building. For a "4-star" rated restaurant, I now know why this place really empty. Some serious changes will need to be made.

Really clean restaurant and bathrooms. Cool set up too because they have a little shopping area with Cajun condiments and a refrigerator with some take home goodies. Staff was nice and the guy busing the tables went out of his way to get us to go containers. Boudin link had a bit different texture than I'm used to and had a slight kick to it. The dip was yummy but got overpowering after a while; I think they season it with Cajun boil seasoning rather than a regular Cajun seasoning so it can be a little strong. The winner was the poboy. A lot of bang for your buck and piping hot and fresh.

Stopped in at Cocodrie's last night for dinner. Greeted by a sign instructing us to order at counter. I noticed they had some merchandise and frozen Gulf products, along with plenty of room. Good cajun bayou music really produced a comfortable vibe. The lady at the counter was very friendly with a beautiful smile, I'm digging this feel already. We placed our order 1 Catfish Basket and 1 Shrimp Basket. Grabbed our drinks and found a table. A few minutes later our food came out. They accidentally served the wife fried okra instead of fries, she has no taste for at all. Server said they send fries out shortly, unfortunately by the time the fries arrived we were basically done. My Catfish came in strips, wife said Shrimp was very good and the fries were cooked fresh and they were plenty hot. A really fun and good experience all the way around except for the mistake on the order otherwise easily 4 stars.

For most others, there's plenty of accessible parking and it's kinda tucked away in it's own lot. The burger offered was the "Our Taphouse" - a dry ranch seasoned beef patty with shredded cheese and topped with carmelized onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and bacon jam. The burger was definitely good. It's messy since there are some more toppings prone to falling out. I will say that in terms of taste, it was a bit too sweet for my preference. I think it was the combination of carmelized onions and bacon jam that made it too much for me that it overwhelmed the savoriness that I'd prefer to be the main flavor with the burger. This time I didn't dine in personally but I will say that the place looks like it has a nice vibe to it, especially outside. It looks like there's plenty of seating with an area for musicians to perform. I'm looking forward to coming back one day and maybe watching a game and getting a drink.
