I had the fried catfish and my wife had boiled shrimp. A little mixup with the order. I ordered catfish but was served a large fish. I had to return the order and reorder but it was worth it. We ordered the ultimate combo (2-lb. crawfish, 1/2-lb. shrimp, a potato, and corn), extra corn, and fried mushrooms for the two of us. They were all delicious. We didn't expect the mushroom to be served in slices instead of whole, but it was still good. The portion was just right. Some of the crawfish were soft and some were hard. Asked for sauce on the side and the cashier looked confused. I explained I didn't want them squirting butter all over my food. When we got the food everything was swimming, no drowning in butter. First feeling as I walked in was the place was way too big. But after I tasted the food I could only imagine how filled the place is on a weekend!!! You walk up and there is a menu above the cashier as well as one on the right. This is so if you have long lines, you can always look above. It's hard to find good seafood restaurants in Texas unless you're close to the coast. They have crawfish, lobster tail, catfish, crab and more both boiled and fried. You order at the front and you go and pick it up when its ready. They also have a drive through. They have quite a few seats inside and they also have a nice patio with a nice view of a man made pond. I ordered the slap daddy's which is a baked potato, corn on the cob with butter, crab legs and shrimp. The potato was just ok but the corn on the cob was very good. The crab legs were good but like with crab in general you have to work hard to get any food out of it. The shrimp was excellent, it also comes with a spicy cocktail sauce which is so good! I could eat almost anything with this sauce! This is definitely a place I will seek out on keep next trip to Waco. read more

I've eaten at Te'jun twice now. We drive up from Cedar Park (about 1 hour). To start with, this seafood place doesn't smell fishy. A good sign that their food is fresh. Restaurant is super clean. Large menu but the friendly staff is very helpful in selecting items. Love the way they make their fried mushrooms. They do them as chips instead of whole. Never seen that before. My wife and I shared what I like to call 'Da Bucket O' Shrimp'. It's ridiculous. Two pounds of boiled shrimp, 2 sausages, 2 half cobs of corn, and 2 potatoes. They pile it in a yellow plastic bucket then squirt a butter sauce over it. Shrimp is perfectly cooked with a nice hInt of spice. If you want more spice, they have 3 different levels of dry spice at each table plus Tabasco. The sausage has a nice medium grind so good texture. Flavor is great. You can purchase them individually or by the dozen. Their sausage is in my to 5 of ever eating. I ate my share plus some but did not feel stuffed. It is well worth the drive to eat this quality of food. It reminds me of the many shrimp boils I've enjoyed with family around Baton Rouge. Te'jun is definitely on my 'Keepers List'. The shrimp were fried just right and the catfish would have been perfect if it was fried as your ordered, but the place looks like it stays busy so I understand the needed to not have people waiting.
