The Farmers Market on Saturday mornings in "Old Town" Temecula is a great way to spend a morning. There are three highlights for me: 1. A grass-fed meat seller -- this is currently my only source of grass-fed meat, and you can order stuff from them if they don't have it at the market. They also sell free-range chicken. 2. Bread - there are a couple of booths selling good bread. 3. Fruit and vegetables. Honorable Mention: live music and friendly ambiance. And there's an ATM nearby. I try to get out there at least once or twice per month. It's a nice Saturday morning date and a good location to pick up some of the grocery necessities from LOCALS. read more

Saturday morning we headed over to the Temecula Farmer's Market for breakfast on the recommendation of a local we met the night before. She raved about the crepe place and I'm so grateful she did! One of the most delicious breakfasts I've had in a long time! The crepe was made right in front of me with fresh ingredients! I can't remember exactly all the items it was filled with, but I do remember it involved: a fried egg, avocado, spinach, garlic, and cheese. (I would give the crepe itself 5 stars, although it was a tad heavy on the garlic which are five words I never would imagine coming from my mouth!) I brought the crepe down to Starbucks where I was able to sit at a table and enjoy my breakfast. It would have been a little more difficult to eat standing up... While not exactly what comes to mind when I think of a true "Farmer's" market, this is a good place to go for breakfast when in Temecula on a Saturday morning! Food items at the Market were perfect for packing a picnic: bakeries, cheeses, samosas, (peanut and other nut) brittle, etc. I am withholding a star because there were also flea market items like knock off sunglasses and purses which is why (even though, truth be told: I did CONSIDER buying a pair of sunglasses) which, in my opinion, further derails the whole "farmer's" market concept. "Public" market or "outdoor" market might be a better title. read more

I was in Downtown Temecula, and I happened to stumble upon this! It was such a great find! I went to High School in a nearby town, Murrieta, but never knew about this place! I bought a different variety of vegetables: tomatoes on the vine, eggplant, avocados. string beans, potatoes,... and some fruits: apples, bananas, and strawberries... I barely spent over 20 dollars! The Farmer's Market in Temecula is not just a place to go to buy produce, it's an outing. I love the feel of the outdoor market. There are not just fresh fruits and veggies here. There are fresh cut flowers, food vendors, handmade jewelry, homemade honey and much more. It's great to be out in your community supporting your local farmers and other vendors. Old Town Temecula is just a happening place to be anytime but the farmers market is good old family fun. Bring your walking shoes since you probably have to park a good distance away. The Temecula Farmers Market in Old Town, on Saturday mornings, is by far the BEST market around. I highly recommend spending a day here! Must see vendors are: 1. Hidalgo Flowers - The owner is the happiest man alive. To know him is to love him. He is the most charismatic farmer there. His flowers are amazing and they last forever. 2. Fresh eggs and chicken. Hormone free, range free, organic fed! They don't look roided out like the ones at the grocery store. 3. The French crepe stand - Best crepes EVER. They've had a number of different cooks but the quality of the crepes is always the same! I've been having these since I was about 6 years old. 4. Old Town Spice Merchants - their shop is one block away so if they don't have something at their stand you'll definitely find it at the shop! Although in a smaller setting do not be fooled there is plenty of vendors with produce, meats, cheeses, succulents, and crafts! Once you are done at the market you can grab a nice cup of coffee and roam through the various shops in old town or take a seat and enjoy brunch at a cafe! read more

I have been to the farmers markets in San Clemente and Solana Beach because I work weekends in those areas. So I was excited to finally get to enjoy my hometown venders. I really enjoyed it even thought it was smaller than I expected but I proceded to purchase my produce, lots of yummy hummous and a few great succulents. My mistake was bringing my teacup poodle. I was approaced by a security who kindly asked me to not bring him on my next visit. I apologized and pleaded ignorance. Twenty yards later she approaced my again and asked when I was leaving, and then followed me until I was done with my shopping. It was really rude. I wont be back. I understand that you should not bring animals but I honestly did not know and did not deserve to be treated like a criminal. read more

This Farmer's Market is a jewel I discovered right around the corner from the office building where my own business is located. I rarely came in on Saturdays so I did not know this was so good. They have lots of fresh produce stands. I like all the variety of fresh, beautiful flowers. Of course, what would a Farmer's Market be without the requisite food stands? Here, they score a 5 star for variety, and value. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. I even like just meeting strangers and getting to know them briefly. I like the quality & quantity of vendors at this Farmer's Market. There's plenty of food and produce stands. But this space is too small! It's all crammed into this small parking lot and I find navigating the crowd very aggravating. Trying to find parking is frustrating enough, then having to push a stroller through this small space crammed with tons of people is just too much for me. I can't even enjoy the experience. I end up rushing through to grab some produce and honey and getting out of there without enjoying much of it. I'm going to have to stick to the one in Murrieta. Unfortunately, they don't have the quality of vendors this one does, but at least I don't have to fight the crowds. read more

As a local, I love coming to this place on a sunny day with some sort of cup of goodness going on. The environment is relaxed and people are having a good time. The food aisle is amazing...as you walk down it you are whafted with an abundance of different yumness. The prices can be a bit steep. So if you are really intent on bargain hunting or supporting the local growers or both...try going a little later when the vendors are in more of a mood to do some bartering. Then when you are done, you can cruise around old Town and see what sort of trouble you can get in to. It makes for a nice Saturday morning. read more

We absolutely love this farmers market! We drive over 40 minutes and it is worth it. Parking can be a bit tricky if you come late but parking is free. We love Da Le Ranch ( quality meat) and Alaska Seafood along with many other vendors! We love supporting local farms and companies! I highly recommend coming here. My Saturday mornings nearly always include visiting the farmer's market---whether it was the Irvine Farmer's Market while I was an undergrad at UCI, Little Italy Mercato while living in Downtown SD, or Temecula Farmer's Market when visiting the parents. My review is for Temecula's Saturday Farmer's Market in Old Town, distinct from Wednesday's at the Promenade Mall. Each farmer's market is different---some sell more veggies, some have more crafts and clothing, some have greater variety and better tasting fruit samples, the list goes on. The Temecula Farmer's Market has a large variety of cooked food compared to other farmer's markets. It's a great breakfast or brunch stop. There's a really good selection of ethnic cuisines to choose from, and you can smell and see the smoke coming from the grills. With regard to produce, I find that the vendors have a greater vegetable selection than that of fruit. This farmer's market is also eclectic with half the vendors selling hats, handmade crafts, jewelry, clothes, doggie treats, birds, and other items. The farmer's market is fairly dense because the vendors are all stationed into just one parking lot. A lot of people do visit the market, but I don't find parking to be a hassle. People come and leave at a steady rate, and there's more parking closer to the post office and behind the antique shops that are west of the farmer's market. The treat of this market is that it's in Temecula's Old Town District. You can drop into the antique shops, boutiques, or "themed" shops as I call them (there's a spice store, cheese store, candy store, soda store, etc.). Not many farmer's markets are so charmingly situated. read more

Know your are truly authenic Farmers Market not a Fade one. When you visit Temecula's Farmer's Market in Old Town more than half of these farmers are truly LOCAL. Know the produce, and products presented are probably "JUST PICKED." Other than being transported miles away, sitting on trucks, friged, and so forth. This is where I honestly have to say Temecula needs to UP their Marketing Skills. Temecula is a dream COME true. There are elements of that Chic Urban Boutique Style Resturants, Shopping, Entertainment, Arts, Theater, Wineries, Antiques, and Yes...The Farmers Market... Yet, it is so under played.
