Ten Point Auto - For the past Four years you have helped me with my car. I bought a used car and have had some trouble with it . Over the past years Nick and the TenPointTEAM has been there in every way they can to fix my issues and frankly , calm me down about everything. I am prone to worrying about things i can not do myself. I have always been satisfied with the work and the courteous demeanor of every one there. I am not a single time customer. I have taken my car there over these years with all different problems and every time the office has worked with me . i dont wanna forget that they have saved my hide with things time and time again. last time i went in for service, as i was leaving , Nick stopped me because he noticed and showed me my tail light was out. .. and replaced it quickly. saved me from a ticket there no doubt . another time while we were looking at the car he noticed in the leaves under the windshield was a crumbled up parking ticket i never knew i had . Every time, each of the workers ,from Sharon in the office to all the guys in the garage, are smiling, nice, and are always helpful. My wife stopped by to do the inspection on our Lexus GX460 they made her replace the wipers. They removed original Lexus wipers for $150 ea in PERFECT CONDITION and installed the wipers that do not fit the model and do not hide under the hood as original. Any mechanic knows that you do not replace the wipers arm on Lexus cars but only the rubber. When we came to pick up the original wipers they were broken in the garbage and now we have to buy the original wipers. The owner is very rude and unprofessional. Stay away from this place read more

I wish I could give a 0 star rating. Nick is an arrogant fake mechanic. Everyone should be VERY VERY suspicious of bringing there vehicle here. They damage things on purpose, lie, not change parts they are supposed to. Not complete oil changes with the correct oil, they use the drum crap oil instead of real mobile 1 which you pay for. They also forge inspection admission by lying and fixing your problem by installing spacers on your o2 sensors & say the issue is fixed. They snip wires & damage other items as other reviews above state to keep you coming back or bang you for something that was never ever wrong in the first place. Reviews that focus on wait times and inspections on an auto repair shop are not helpful and skew what people really care about. Are they mechanically reliable and reasonable? That's what people on yelp want to know. Not your two hour wait to get an inspection. I am across the country and ran into an engine issue for my college kid. I did not have a mechanic reference and relied on friends to give a recommendation. Ten point communicated with me and diagnosed the issue quickly. They sourced parts and worked hard to get the repair in within a day. They even stayed late so the car could be picked up after school hours. They have a solid warranty on their work and we have not experienced any issues since the price was reasonable. Not cheap but very comparable to others I have used. Manager Nick is extremely unprofessional. Came out to handle a dispute with a half eaten wrap in hand. Seemed very incompetent with speaking to me in a professional manner. Not sure why he was appointed a managerial position. Claimed their business is not responsible for the actions of their employees and will not be accountable for any damages done to your car. If you do not want your car damaged in any way, go elsewhere. Immensely rude encounter. Baffled as to why this place has been in business for this long. I called to confirm that I could come in for an inspection and was never advised of the 2 hour wait, when I mentioned this the Man at the desk became very defensive. Granted the wait can vary when establishments don't require appointments but I felt like I was being argued with, which is uncalled for. read more

The mechanics there, under the impressive leadership and supervision of a charismatic manager, would treat you like a nice neighbor with friendly attitude and professional ethics, while repairing your car with the topnotch craftsmanship. Honest, reasonable and conveniently located across from the New Dorp train station, making it easy to get to when the car is here. Fairly quick as repairs go. Mails out reminders when my inspection is upcoming. Fill the tank with some of the lowest priced gas on the island here too. read more

It's because of these guys that I've learned to change my own brakes OR seek out more competant help. I needed front brakes for my car. The quote was, get this, $550 for front brakes and rotors. Now I know I can pick up brake pads and rotors at any auto parts store for $60 so I knew these jerkoffs were padding the bill. I stated that I did'nt need rotors and the price was too high. After haggling for a fair price of $300 (still high, but I figured that's a standard price) I approved the work. Big mistake! WIthin a month the rotors had warped and the pads were scored. Instaed of using the parts I specified, they used the cheapest shit Kmart sells. I made them fix it or I was reporting them to the BBB. I hate auto repair shops, I think they are crooks who prey upon the ignorant public because they can. Or think they can. read more

I had a problem with my air conditioner in my car.ran great upon putting it on and started to get warm...had no noise in my car, whatsoever! +I knew I needed freaon..so I went to a few gas stations I'm familiar with for a price check.. was quoted about the same in all 3, except Ten Point Auto Service! He was about $5 least.. went with them.. left my vehicle for 2 hours and when I picked it up and after paying the $200 and 30 something..he mentioned the word Radiator? as he was chewing his food.. I asked what would that cost..he answered with his head down eating..$450 or so..I said I can't afford that now ..he said ok..left the gas station and drove up the block, from ice cold the air went into hot! I turned around and went back in..spoke to the mechanic that had supposedly fixed my air, he said it was fine when he finished..the manager that took care of me from the beginning came out to speak to me! I was fuming! I said what happened? He said you needed a Radiator! I was like a wild beast! I said then why did you do my freon instead and charged me for it ? When he knew it was the Radiator!!! He said that's what you asked for .. I said your kidding me? You could had call me to tell me this, but you didn't!!!! You took advantage of me... the Spanish guy that worked on my car, put his head down! I turned to him being Hispanic myself, and said God sees everything! He started to tell me in spanish that I should have asked for...and the manager came walking towards us fast! I told him to stop talking..PS I had no choice to get a Radiator from him,because my car felt like it was on fire when I drove it! Left it overnight ...$450 more later ..picked it up and it has a weird noise when the air is turned on! I believe he saw a meal ticket walking in, because I'm a woman... alone! ..I strongly believe in KARMA..DO NOT go there if your a woman without knowledge and think there's honest men around! I was told by one car garage that I might need my car's valve cover gasket replaced because there was leakage on my car, that was said without anyone looking or inspecting my car just by me complaining about my car's leakage. After having visited 4 car repair shops and not one car repair shop wanting to look at my car to check the car to see what was wrong with it, I came to Ten Point Auto Service. After speaking to the receptionist and explaining what I was told might be the problem, she recommended that I get my car looked at by one of their mechanics to find out exactly what was wrong with my car. They found out that I had to get my valve cover gasket replaced, and that I also needed my old oil pan replaced. I also let them know that I needed my sunroof water leak fixed, and I that I also needed a synthetic oil change done on my 2014 Nissan Rouge. They did everything in one day. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They were fast and courteous, and they beat all the others car repair shops prices too. They were transparent about all of their prices and took time and patience to explain everything and anything that I had questions about. They were recommended by two of my neighbors whom take their cars for years to them and I was very glad that I listened to their recommendations. Went there recently to have a simple inspection done and was told I was one simple $150 fix away from passing. Had the work done and brought it back as instructed. I was introduced to yet another problem that would prevent the car from passing. When I questioned it he said he would pass the car. Then when I paid for the inspection he told me that he's sorry but it failed for yet another unforeseen error that he could not articulate.
