I want to preface by saying it's been a while since I've been in, so this may not all be accurate…read moreanymore. However, from my experience, Cornelius Dental Clinic is great! For those who like pros and cons lists, I have several pros and one con listed below. Pros -- - Friendly People. Everybody there is incredibly friendly. They remember you and make you feel cared about. - Great Care. Cleanings have been incredibly thorough and treatment has been great. I had a cavity filled there, and it was quick and painless! - Timliness. They are prompt and get you in at your scheduled time. You don't end up waiting around in the waiting room forever. - Honesty. They communicate with you honestly about your dental health. They don't tell you that there are cavities that need to be treated when there aren't. They look at certain areas that may become problems down the road and do everything they can to prevent them from becoming problems. They don't do extensive work prematurely, which I love. Cons -- - The Music. This is one that may have changed. Usually I wouldn't mention the music that is played at a place, but I find it very distracting here. The music they were playing was terrible covers of top 40 songs. I don't mind popular music, however, the covers were pretty painful to listen to, with singers who sing flat notes and just don't sound great. It's distracting. I wouldn't mind some better music to listen to during my visits. This place is great, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good, honest dentist.

Now that I have been to other dental offices since The Dentists At Orenco Station, I feel I can…read moremake an honest review of my experience here. I am also not one to leave reviews unless I really feel compelled to. It's been a few years, and my feelings haven't changed. My first impressions were positive. The hygienists are very kind and thorough. I don't believe they are the problem at all. However, red flags started popping up when the dentist began pushing a tooth extraction and an implant. They had noticed something on my xray that they believe indicated my tooth needed to be removed sooner rather than later, however I never experienced pain or discomfort from this tooth. They sat me down in a room with their insurance person and told me how it would go down. As someone who is under 30 and never had any dental issues in my life, I was confused. I have also been told many times over my teeth look great. They referred me to an endodontist. Payed $300+ out of pocket for a 20 minute appointment for him to say "yeah, well maybe, maybe not we will have to wait and see." They also casually mentioned that the owners of the dentist establishment were their good friends. I did not follow up with a tooth extraction or implant following this appointment because the endodontist didn't say it was necessary at this time. I went back for another cleaning 6 months later and AGAIN was heavily pushed to schedule an extraction and implant. My intuition told me to get a second opinion, because something felt off. My gut was telling me this wasn't in my best interest and not for the sake of my dental health. As a young person who has never had dental issues in their life I felt like I was being taken advantage of. It felt as though they thought I was naïve. It felt as though this establishment was truly just a business trying to make themselves and their friends money. I have visited 2 other dentists since my experience here and have asked them point blank if I needed a tooth extraction and implant because a previous dentist told me that I did. I told them exactly what the dentist at Orenco Station told me. Both dentists I have seen since said no. AND if that were the case, extraction and implant should not be the first plan of action for someone so young who is also not experiencing any pain or discomfort. There should always be an effort to save the tooth. I still do not have problems or pain with said tooth. It's been 3+ years. I understand each dentist has their difference in opinion and can use their own discretion, especially in private practice. Some are more proactive and some are reactive. However, my experience was that this place was purely a business looking to make money. They did not make me feel like they had good intentions or my best interest in mind. They were VERY pushy to undergo expensive treatments. For future or current patients of this place, just use your own discretion. Advocate for yourself. Get a second opinion. Trust your intuition. This is just my experience I felt compelled to share.

I was impressed and delighted by their service on day one and just as impressed and delighted today, six years later after several cleanings, whitening treatments, and a few repairs. I grew up going to this dentist, he was the only one our family went to. I disliked him as a child,…read morebut that was chalked up to just not liking the dentist, not because of him or the way the business was ran. As I got older (17-20) I continued to be unsatisfied with my services there. You always waited a long time & barely saw the dentist at all. When I was younger one time I was eating a caramel apple sucker, I bit down on the sucker & when it came out of my mouth, there was a filling stuck to it. As a child I didn't realize that that wasn't normal, but as an adult now, it makes perfect sense as a sign of his shoddy work. Another incident I had was with a hygienist who repeatedly jabbed my cheek; so much so that later I had cuts on the inside of my cheek. I told the receptionist, Sherry, that I would like to never have that same hygienist again, to note it on my account & why I didn't want her. A few months later I went back, having made my appointment on the phone with Sherry & reminding her that I didn't want the same hygienist as last time. But sure enough, when I went in the back, my hygenist was the same incompetent one as before & the same thing happened again. When I left I told Sherry what had happened, which she blamed on a scheduling error (she does the scheduling), and apologized. I told her that I didn't really care about her apology & that I would NOT be returning again. It wasn't until now, years later, when I've gone to other dentists that I realize how terrible of a dentist Dr. Steve F. Taylor really is/was. Since leaving his practice I have had to have ALL of my previous fillings redone. Not due to more cavities, but because they were not put in properly... Not to mention my brother & sister have had to do the same. I have also learned that other dentists don't constantly harp on you about your teeth maintenance & basically make you feel like you have the shittiest teeth they've ever seen...even if you do floss & brush twice a day it's always your shoddy maintenance that's the problem, not genetics or a predisposition. I've had other dentists talk positively about my teeth & my dental hygiene, something that you never heard at Dr. Taylor's office. All around, I would never go back to Dr. Taylor & I would NEVER recommend anyone else to go there either... PLUS, the guy is 62 years old... Isn't it time for him to retire?!

I have had to have all my fillings from Dr. Taylor replaced. I had one fall out in the middle of…read morethe night, and the rest were so poorly done that other dentists have had to fix them. It's a waste of time and money to visit this dentist. I've been to several other dentists, who were all so much nicer, more helpful, and who do better work. Save your teeth and go somewhere else.
