We were there as guests at the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting. It's a great place! The food is quite good! Meatloaf alone was tender and moist. The mashed potatoes were the real deal, none of that powdered trash at Miss Dolly's! Food selection is good. They have something for everyone. And there is plenty of seating in the Buffet area. And they often have Live Music. They have a nice lil gift store and lot's of places to sit and enjoy a bite or to take a travel break. The Cup of Ambition Coffee is really good too. Now... The Cinnamon Bread... OH MY LAWD!!!!! This is a must try. No need to travel all the way to Dollywood now, you can pick up these lil pieces of heaven right off I-65. They'll change your life!!!!! First impression, "Wow! The Queen takes on Buc-ees! All hail the queen!!" Second impression; "whoever thought out this place should have visited Buc-ees first". The line for the women's room was out the door. Nothing unusual. Except the line extended into the bathroom and just kept on going. Dolly's is huge yet there were only 6 stalls. Obviously designed by a man. It was so hot that there was a portable fan trying its best to provide a little comfort to those waiting and waiting. The store had a couple of fast food restaurants, a wide selection of snacks and, of course, lots of Dolly Parton souvenirs. People had arm loads of the stuff. Splash Dolly's name on anything, especially in Tennessee, and it will sell. The strange thing was that nothing had prices marked. (Except alcohol, I'm assuming that must be a law). I picked up a couple of candy bars not knowing if they were two dollars or ten. One neat feature was the lounge. It was obviously meant for the truckers as the showers and laundry entrance was in there. It did work out well as my husband waited there while I stood in line for the restroom. There is a Buc-ees 42 miles south and a Love's 25 miles north on I-65. I'd plan my stop at one of these instead. Dolly, Dolly; Dolly...it seems everything you touch turns to gold. I love Dolly, and we drove all the way from Tampa just to visit her truck stop. It's a fun place to explore, with a nice gift shop and a welcoming atmosphere. The employees were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The only disappointment was the food. We spent about $50, and while it was okay, it reminded us of cafeteria-style food. The wait was also longer than expected. It's a nice place to visit, but it's too bad the food didn't live up to the rest of the experience. read more

Buc-ee's has nothing to worry about! We were underwhelmed with Dollys. The decor was the best part about the place! The staff did not seem too thrilled with the Dolly takeover! Most of the buffet was nearly empty, and not everything was hot. Our server was very good and attentive, so we overlooked quite a bit. What a fun and nostalgic place to stop from Huntsville or Birmingham if headed to Nashville or reversed. Dolly Parton has taken an old run down truck stop and completely revived it. One side for professional drivers that has showers and a lounge, the other a large Dolly Gift shop with plenty Dolly apparel and gifts. There is a sit down restaurant with live music specializing in Barbecue and good ol' southern cooking, choose from a buffet or meats and sides. Most meals under 20.00 definitely a fun great stop. The outdoor area reminds me of a picnic in the park, you can grab a slice of pizza or brisket sandwich if looking for a quicker stop. The chicken, unfortunately, was a bit dry, although it still had decent flavor. To finish the meal, I tried the peach cobbler, which was absolutely delectable. It would have been even better served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The service was slow. It seemed like the waitress wasn't quick to serve or refill drinks. Waitressing isn't an easy job by all means, but there were many times when we wouldn't see our waitress for awhile. The atmosphere is inviting. There are murals and guitars all over. If you compare Dolly's against Buc-ee's Buc-ee's is a winner by a landslide. Dolly has a lot of Dolly souvenirs, but the food is just okay. We did the grab and go for food as there were lines for coffee and treats as well as the restaurant. We picked the beef brisket sandwiches cheeseburgers, and pulled pork sandwiches. We also got the potato wedges. The brisket sandwich we got did not reflect the picture on the menu. It was a clump of meat. It's nice as a truck stop. read more

This is a nice, all-in-one stop for someone traveling by. We waited a good 20-30 minutes to get a table for the cafe, but once we were seated our waitress was so sweet. She told us that they were understaffed and they hadn't been expecting the response they got from the partnership with Dolly. We were not in a hurry, so we didn't mind waiting. The food was good and the service with the caveat of being understaffed was great. I did find, overall, the place to be much smaller than I expected. They want to compete with Buc-ee's but they're far from that. Only 5-6 ish bathroom stalls which lead to very long lines in the ladies room. The merchandise is VERY expensive, $20 for a keychain with a puff ball on it is outrageous. It would be nice to see some more entry level price points. I look forward to going back to see how they evolve and check out the bar when it opens. Overall, be prepared to wait in lines but to still be greeted by cheerful staff. read more

Word is...buffet is good, mainly for the meat loaf. The meatloaf was delicious, and the other food was pretty good. I do believe the buffet cost more than it should. They do offer a lower price at lunchtime, but it's still not what you would consider a lunch price. They are getting a one review because I got food poisoning. I was so sick for the next several days! I will not ever eat there again. I don't know if it was from poor food preparation or unsanitary people handling the community utensils. It's a shame that precautions can't be made to prevent this from happening and having return restaurant customers. As far as the store part of this establishment, it was an adventure to walk through. I did like looking at all the stuff and that they had ole timey candies. Again, higher priced than I was willing to pay today. We went Sunday before the grand opening and it was nice. It wasn't crowded. Then we went Friday of the grand opening (on the way back through town) and it was chaos, which is to be expected. The lines in the bathroom were long. The only thing I would change in the bathroom was the location of stuff because people in the line were blocking the paper towels and trash cans so I would move the trash cans around. I bought her makeup which I'm excited to try and the price was on point for more expensive brands but some of the keychains were $20 which was insane. A simple tank top runs about $30. I loved the guitar chandelier. It was neat. We also loved that there was a good area for the dog to move around and do her business. I just wish all dog owners were responsible and cleaned up after their pets. read more

This review gets a four out of respect for Dolly and providing a promising Truck/Travel stop experience. We aren't quite there yet. The concept looks solid.plenty of truck parking. A great looking building. Then it sort of flops when you try the buffet. I went on a Saturday around 6pm. The fried catfish and barbecue chicken were drier than Gandhi's flip flops. The mac & cheese noodle was good but they use a bad cheese product. The tossed spaghetti and meat sauce wasn't great. The bread pudding was stuck to the pan like spackle. Looking forward to grabbing a shower and a beer upstairs later. I hope they figure out the buffet before the Gem of Tennessee comes in on June 24th. That's the rumor anyway. ...Oh almost forgot, they had a country music artist playing for diner. I thought that was cool. If more people hear about this, maybe the food might not be as dry? Anyway, Good luck Tennessean. We'll be out on tour so won't get to see Dolly. Edit: went back in today. The trucker showers are huge, just missing sink space and hooks to hang your bag. Towels were real nice. Tried round 2 at the buffet. Slightly better. The apple bread pudding was good today. Meatloaf was good again. They can't seem to put out good chicken. The BBQ glazed chicken was rock hard and almost dry. They had some chicken patties in gravy that also wasn't great. Not sure if this was opening weekend or not but long lines to park, use restrooms, checkout, dine in, or get coffee. If they are trying to compare to Buc-ee's I would say it definitely doesn't hold a candle to that in efficiency or size. Less restrooms, less gas pumps, smaller in size overall. However, if you want to stop because you are a Dolly fan there is plenty of merch you can purchase. It was a little hard to move about the store with as crowded as it was though so we got gas, used the restroom and left. The restroom was pretty clean but I didn't see an attendant. read more

Pleasantly surprised with high standards of cleanliness and presentation of a new business with bonus Tesla charging stations. Flipside, understaffed for the foot traffic on a Father's Day weekend. You can pick your food and drink at the back of the business, but can't pay for it there. You have to walk up to the entrance and wait in long lines to pay (doesn't make sense!). My honey and I stopped here on the way back from a quick trip to Nashville. First impressions were, It's not that big, the branding and exterior build is very nice, lots of Tesla charging stations (way more Tesla's than I expected to see). The interior is not that big. It's like 1/4 the size of a Buc-ee's. They DO have a restaurant(meat & 3) that appears to be cafeteria style. They had a line/wait formed and we had already eaten but they pricing seemed very reasonable, around $15 for a meat and 3. They also have a grab and go area with sandwiches and breakfast biscuits. Then there's the coffee shop that is also an ice cream parlor. We ended up going there and getting ice cream, which was a poor decision given we still had about 1.25 hours left to drive. Overall it was fine, the retail space is 75% Dolly merch. The building was very hot, unsure if the AC wasn't working well, the thermostat was too high or that it was possibly the hottest date so far of the year. Regardless, it was warmer than our preference. The restrooms were an interesting design and well stocked and clean. There were what appeared to be a handful of influencers there too, which is weird. Lastly, there were so many dang flies and flying insects in the building, which is annoying and not that great. Will we stop back? Of course. Are we going out of our way, not likely. read more

This is a really nice travel stop. This place is well advertised on I-65, so we decided to stop. This place is very clean and the staff are quite welcoming. The restrooms are nice and there are several food options. They have a grab and go barbecue place (called Pop's), a buffet where you can also order a beer or a drink, and a wonderful ice cream shop. We took advantage of the bathrooms and the ice cream shop. I really enjoyed my soft-serve cone and my wife had two scoops of hand-dipped ice cream. Their gift shop is large with lots of Tennessee items, including fudge, candles, and jellies. They have a fair amount of indoor seating (especially in the large buffet area) and they also have outdoor seating. This is a really nice place to stop when you're nearby. read more

I hate to write this review but Dolly's was very disappointing. I went on the way to Nashville from Atl hoping it was awesome but it was pretty much a glorified chevron. The restrooms were clean and there was a bit of dolly merch but it was VERY hot and the restaurant inside had flies and slow service, I ended up leaving because it took so long for them to even get my drink order. Picked up a to go plate at 8.99 a pound but you need to find a server to explain it, then you need to find a server for a foam box and then you need to find a server for them to weigh it and then you gotta take it out to the register to pay. This was the first time we ever stopped here! Exit 22 in TN of I-65 . This place offers it all- gas, EV charging stations, modern and clean restrooms, plenty of food options ( including a buffet, grab and go beverages and bbq, and ice cream! ), gift shop items and both indoor and outdoor seating. The gals who scooped our ice cream were very friendly. I liked this stop and will return. Great alternative to Bucees half an hour down in Alabama. read more

Well we made a point of calling ahead before we went to Dolly's restaurant nothing was said that would indicate any sort of menu changes when we got there the only option we had for breakfast was their buffet which is terrible. It would have been nice to know in advance when I called that their crappy buffet was my only option for breakfast The only thing that I would qualify as remotely good about the breakfast was coffee. The coffee was excellent .The gravy was bland,the sausage was bland . The cinnamon rolls, French toast sticks and biscuits were hard enough you could have used them for door stops not to mention tasteless(I don't think Dolly has ever heard of buttermilk biscuits) service from waitress was terrible once you got seated .You practically had to grab somebody by the throat to get them to refill your coffee and anytime you summon anybody over to your table they act like they were really put out by it. Save yourself from overpaying for a really crappy breakfast and crappy service and find a Shoney's or Denny's somewhere. Yhese people obviously have no clue what a good breakfast is. Will not be going back there again. Dolly Parton might ought to try eating in her own restaurant just to see what kind of crap they're putting out in her name. read more
