To be honest, we told the bartender we had never been there before & we wanted to purchase a bottle of sweet wine for a friend. If the bartender would have said, I'll just give you a free taste of this wine (the one I was purchasing), then they might have had a sale of 2 or 3 bottles rather than just one for our friend. My friend was very excited to receive the wine but she didn't open it so we never got a taste of it at our friend's house either. Again - the view is beautiful.

They make it sound like it would be an experience, though it was pretty much a regular tasting with three rows of cheese and three stacks of crackers. Considering that we had purchased three of the Groupons you would think that they would have maybe fluffed it up a little bit, I thought maybe we would have been tasting our wine while we had our cheese, but we just stood at the counter doing shots of wine which was somewhat tasteless. I get that they don't use extra flavors, but it was pretty nondescript. The view from the back porch was nice however we did need to purchase something to wash down the cheese, and it had to ask for our souvenir glass, which I think possibly if I didn't ask for it they wouldn't have offered. I don't know if I would recommend this place? They were very friendly, and accommodating somewhat. I know I wouldn't waste my money on the Groupon experience.

They met us at our cabin and waited patiently as we got our acts together. We were off and running, they were great drivers, great guides and knowledgeable about wine. I don't know what a muscadine grape is, but I feel strongly that someone should have stopped this experiment years ago. Whoever first looked at a muscadine grape and thought, "Let's make wine out of that," owes the rest of us an apology. If you've ever wondered what it would taste like to drop a penny into a steel vat full of vinegar and then bottle the result... congratulations, you've already experienced muscadine wine. Maybe it's an acquired taste. Maybe I'm not sophisticated enough to appreciate it. Maybe Stockholm Syndrome eventually kicks in after your third glass. All I know is I've had wine in Napa, wine in Europe, wine from grocery stores, and wine poured from boxes... and I would choose every single one of them before another glass of muscadine. The property is beautiful. The people are lovely. The wine and I have irreconcilable differences.
