I found myself an inpatient at TriStar Horizon (NO, I'm not contagious!) They've taken pretty good…read morecare of me here. I'll break things down into pros and cons: Pros: 1. Everyone here is super-nice and respectful. 2. My privacy has been respected. I mean, they keep the door shut when you're buck naked in bed, or having a procedure performed. 3. Everyone is genuinely interested in helping you recover your health so you can get back to your life. Cons: 1. Sometimes when you use the call button to summon some help, they might forget about you. (I'll grant that you might be trying to reach someone when it's super-busy, but this happens more often than I'd like to see. Surely there's a solution to this problem.) 2. The menu is BORING! There are only so many days a person can eat overcooked scrambled eggs and tough turkey sausage. Thankfully, you have a little wiggle room if you can get hold of their "Menu at a Glance" which has a few different options you can request by calling down to the dietary office. 3. I use CPAP therapy, but I was only allowed to use a hospital-approved machine. A very loud hospital-approved machine with a very ill-fitting face mask. I mean, it got the job done, and I didn't suffocate in my sleep, but... That's all I can say about that. All in all, it's been a good stay, if you can forget you're in a hospital. I realize that everyone's experience with TriStar Horizon may differ. We've all heard the horror stories about different facilities. As for my experience, it's been pretty good, no horror stories and only a few minor inconveniences. No major complaints. I'm happy I chose to be treated here. And I recommend them.

They were so busy, but every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and accommodating. I highly recommend Tristar Horizon. Thank you for all yall do!

I am a current patient at Tennessee Oncology who's been battling stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumors…read moresince February 2024. I'm writing to share my experience and offer suggestions to improve patient care at your facility. MRI Scheduling & Results: Scheduling an MRI and meeting with the doctor on the same day is ineffective if the doctor doesn't have the results available. It wastes both the patient's and provider's time. Please consider adjusting scheduling protocols so results are ready and available before the consultation. Visual MRI Review: It should be standard practice for doctors to review MRI scans with patients using visual comparisons to prior scans. This helps the patient clearly understand any changes in tumor size or progression. Medication & Supplement Tracking: It's frustrating to be asked what medications and supplements I take when these are prescribed or documented by your team. There should be a centralized, up-to-date record that can be easily reviewed and updated each visit, rather than relying on patient recall every time. MRI Machine Availability: Having broken MRI machines and forcing terminally ill patients to wait weeks for rescheduling is unacceptable. There must be sufficient equipment or contingency plans in place to ensure timely scans for patients with critical needs. Nutrition Awareness: Offering candy and sugary treats in a cancer treatment facility is highly inappropriate. Sugar fuels many forms of cancer, and handing it out is akin to offering a cigarette to a lung cancer patient. Please reconsider the nutritional options you provide in the waiting areas. I share this feedback not to criticize but to advocate for better patient care. I would be happy to speak directly with your team to help improve the patient experience at Tennessee Oncology. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Joe Fiore
